A tiny hybrid amp for bass with a proven tube preamp and a powerful Class D power section.

The Orange Terror Bass 1000 Watt Bass Tube Amp Head is a hybrid amplifier with a Class D solid state power section and the same preamp as the all-tube AD200B UK bass amp.

The Terror Bass 1000 is louder and has more headroom than the 500 watt Bass Terror. With the same great looks as the other Terror series guitar amps, and a rugged construction that will stand up to the road, bass players can now become a part of the famed “Tiny Terror club.”

Note: The Bass Terror does not require rebiasing when replacing tubes.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Terror Bass 1000 Watt Bass Tube Amp Head:

I was looking for a round, raw, full sound, and I found it. It sounds like an Orange should. I love the tube preamp--easy to dial in crunch. Plenty of headroom--which is why I went for the 1000 over the 500--and this allows for leaving the gain low with the volume up for a cleaner sound, if needed. The 500 probably has plenty of juice, too, but I figured the 1000 would never let me down.

I love the simplicity. No fancy EQ's, buttons, 50 knobs, etc. One note: flat is with the bass and treble to 0 and the mid to full.

It is a little strange to have the input on the left.

I haven't tried the DI yet, and I have read that it is hot. I have also heard that Orange revised this, so we shall see...

Make sure that if your cabinet does not have Speakon connections, get an adapter.

It is TINY! Unbelievably lightweight for this much power. And I love the included gig bag.

Overall, 5/5. There is nothing like the Orange sound!

The rich growling sound I wanted!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Terror Bass 1000 Watt Bass Tube Amp Head:

    THE SOUND:
You will get a very good vintage, deep bass sound easily. This amp can give you a nice growl if you crank the gain knob a little. I also own a 100% tube amp which is about 70 pounds of bass extravaganza. That Terror Bass 1000 gives me a sound that is as deep and rich for less than 12 pounds and far less maintenance cost and time. Please, don't let the hybrid tag stops you. That amp is Orange. A real Orange amp with a real Orange sound!!

    USE:
I mostly use it for live events and practicing (when my girlfriend and neighbours are at least 10 miles away). It is very powerful so don't worry, no matter the size of the gig, it will deliver. I pair it with a Mark Bass 2x10 and a Mark Bass 1x15 for now and I never had to crank that Terrorizing amp more than halfway with low gain. For recording, make sure that you use a microphone in front of your cabinets. The direct output is very hot and it has no "Silence Output" function like the Fender Bassman Pro. You have two Speakon outputs (speakon only, not hybrid 1/4) and one direct output. That's it. Not the greatest studio amp in the department of features. Make sure your studio can deal with that kind of amp. If not, look for another studio! ;-)

    MUSIC STYLE:
I play mainly Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Blues and 60's Rock & Roll. I use a Fender American Standard Jazz bass, which is passive or a Peavey Rudy Sarzo signature, which is active and they both sound like hell on earth in that Orange lunch box!

    REASON FOR 4 STARS:
If you look for a very flexible equalizer or an internal compressor, you won't have it here. It is a simple amp with a wide variety of sound created by only 4 knobs. It might not be flexible enough for some studio musicians without adding a pre-amp with a nasty 50 keys equalizer. Personally, I dig the Orange sound the way it is. Bass, Wire, Terror 1000, Play, people shouts, guitarists yell to low down my volume. Easy and simple.
