takes a good amount of power . running mine with a firebass 700 (475 at 4 ohm) and almost takes it all. not quite as good as a 410 by itself. add this to tvx 410 with some power and smile! i cant complain ,its great for what it is,,a 15.
I run this cabinet under a 4x10 peavey cab sounds great . I power my 2 peavey cabs with a ampeg svt 200t and it's the best sounding rig I have ever owned and I have been gigging since 1976 5 to 6 nights a week . Run them full range with a 4 or 5 string and you won't be disappointed. Thats a great thing about peavey you can pair it with any other brands still get a great sound. I have a trace elliot 4x10 combo and it sounds great but when I put this 115 under it,it is a killer sound .You just can't go wrong with peavey bass cabs all the black widow stuff is quality.
The tone that comes out of this is unbelievable, and transports easier than most. This baby has a lot of power.
I bought two of these to go with my 412TVX cabinets. I thought that would give me the sound I wanted. Pushing these with a Crown CE2000 I was dissapointed. They gave up long before the 412 cabinets. Lower notes would distort in what I would discribe as cone breakup. I do play a big round sound from a 5-string, maybe this is the difference from other reviews. I bought more 412TVX cabinets for my Bass, and use the 115BVX as subs for the PA. WOW! I think they are just as good as the Peavey 118 Subs that are more money, and weigh more. They go lower, and handle Keyboards quite well. Now using 2 of these under our Peavey main cabinets. I have tried bi-amping, but usually just plug these parallel with two main cabinets. I have owned Peavey since the 70's, and still have a first year TKO Bass amp I use as a practice amp. I will not spend my hard earned bucks on any other Brand. Peavey sound good, is priced right, and LASTS!
I play out of 2 of these cabs with a hartke 4000 head. for the price and quality i would never play out of anything else. great choice and good tone. I have had many compliments.
Great cab that delivers low-end, but also is suprisingly bright. Use it with other cabs or it stands fine by itself. Has a variety of tonal options.
I play with this cabinet every show with a 410TXF stacked on top, and pushing it all with a Peavy 700w Firebass head. This cab. is indestructable. Night after night it gives me great low end. and rattles every thing within 300 yards. It is a great cab.
This cab is really good sounding and is really loud - sounds good with the Peavey Max 450 head.
O.k. For a 15 this thing picks up the highs more than the tweeter in my 4x10 cab. I bought this hoping that it would bring some low end to my sound, NO WAY. I got it home and all it picked up was the sound of my pick hitting the string. I was shocked! I don't know if i just got a lemon or what but i am returning it and selling my other 4x10 and buying a 8x10. Be smart about buying one of these, play before you buy.
I play guitar in a band and run a 120 tube head through a marshall 4x12 and one of these 15" bvx's and it sounds great. the 200 watt avt cab wasnt giving me enough low end so i bought one of these and now I have as much low end as I want and it doesnt bottom out or sound all muddy. thanks Peavey!
