i have owned this monster for several years now. never let me down once. thundering sound on stage. currently running it with a Peavey max 700, and playing various 5 string basses. no issues at all. just bought a Mesa 4 10 cabinet for when i dont want to lug this fridge. the peavey has as good as a sound as the Mesa, and a little more full due to the number of speakers.
After purchasing this cabinet new, rather than a used Ampeg 810 for the same money, I was extremely happy with my choice. The sound is incredible. It handles everything I can throw at it, for alot less money, than many other new or used cabinets. The wheels are the only drawback, and they are a big drawback. They do not offer enough clearance between the ground and the cabinet. Even rolling it out of my apartment to practice, the carpet with padding rubs against the bottom edge. As I write this review, I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate larger wheels. It will be worth the hassle for the sound quality at the price I paid. I will purchase a second cabinet soon. "I LIKE IT LOUD!!!"
I use to pack mine around in the backseat of a 76 buick, it's been dropped many a times even took a tumble down a flight of stairs and destroyed a wall.Didn't even phaze itI powered my 810tvx with a PV2600 in bridge modeand was by far the cleanest sounding bass I had ever heard period.
Great low end, good middle and highs. All the volume and tone anybody could want or need, especially coupled with a 700 watt firebass amp head. Only complaint: having to have an aftermarket covermade for it.
I bought this cab over a year ago, it is not very easy to wheel around, there is not enough space between the cab and the ground when wheeling the cab from my truck to the club. It has completly detroyed the bottom of the cab. I should have just purchased the Peavey Pro 8/10 cab.
Wiring problems within 7 months of purchase, Peavey won't honor warranty.
Provides just the sound you need for the bigger gigs, and a wall of sound effect.
This awesome cab has a very conservative rating. It rocks with the best cabs out there for much less money!
