As a matter of fact, I don't necessarily like Peavey brand, and actually think even their logo is completely lame, lost in the 80's. I'd confess I'd like having something else on its spot. But I went for this because of its features, and I am so pleased I did that decided to place yet another review to its add. Seriously, I know there's enough, but I think it deserves it, just out of justice.

Tone doesn't get much better than this. If it does, and if you have the ears to notice it, it's simply not worth paying 3, 4 or even 5 times this proce tag. The same goes for Custom USA Gibson's and Fenders, etc., which own out of sheer lust, but I don't think I need to go the same way when it comes to amps, having this one on my hands. It makes my CS336, jag and tele great justice.
Lots of pluses when compared with amps on it's price range. 2 Channels + boost, reverb, vibrato, loop, 15" celestion, 7 tubes, USA made...point me out a product that delivers as much for the same buck.
USA made. Flawless finish, despite not being real tweed, but I guess they never tried to say otherwise. And the way I see it, you get the same looks (the impression goes as far as when you touch it) but much more durability and practicity when cleaning the thing up.
As mentioned before, I haven't crossed anything as good as this on it's price range. Wanted this for while and over much more expensive gear just because of the 15". But now I've got it, it feels that I've got plenty more then expected. It's not for metal heads, as a 5150 is not for bluesmen or classic rockers, so judge things accordingly to what they comit itselves to do. And don't be moron to buy something you know it's not what you want.

I've own this amp for almost six or seven years now, and as I'm finally looking to upgrade I'd figured it would be a good time to write a review. First it is important to note that I still to this day love the tone I get when playing out of my les paul, strat, and cheaper ibanez jazz hollowbody. However the lack of a standby switch prevents this amp from having a long lasting appeal. The tone that punches through is just fantastic and stands up against both versions of the fender twin in my opinion. The amount of air that pushes through the 15" speaker gives the amp bottomless lows and beautiful bell like highs, and seems to give the tone that little extra power the classic 30 seemed to be missing. In most aspects the amp is built to last. I may have had to replace a blown speaker after a couple of months of owning it, but I was told I hadn't worked it in properly at the time. I haven't had any problems that have been out of the ordinary since. Unfortunately the lack of a standby switch and the constant overdriving of the el84's leads to a slightly more major problem. If you tend to gig a fair amount or just plain old like to play loud on a regular basis, the tubes seem to degrade faster than other of the other combo amps around. If you leave the tubes in too long you'll start to hear them rattle, especially when using humbuckers, and eventually the sound with start to clip and break. This took what was close to a 900 dollar purchase here in Canada to around 1500 after having to replace the tubes 3 times.I have to admit that every time the tubes were changed the amp had its original vibrant tone, and made me fall in love with the amp all over again. So in the end, it's a fantastic amp, but comes with its own risks. One of the nicest sounding clean tube tone that's perfect for jazz or an acoustic guitar, that has a beautiful tube crunch on higher volumes for your blues, and also responds amazingly to pedals. But if you're playing loud, and playing a lot, be prepared to sink some extra coin into tube replacements.

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

u
first off stand by's are for pussy. if you cant reach over and turn your amp down then your just pure lazy. you all that say it saves your tubes well, maybe with a fender but not this amp. i have had this amp for going on ten years now . i have only had to change the tubes twice . i play out at least four times a week, very loud and three to four hours a gig. not counting all the hours the band practices. now as far as this amp goes, im not sure that i have EVER heard anything that comes close to the sound that this thing can produce. i come from a musical family i have four brothers that all play guitar so theres alot of amps going through our hand a lot of chances to hear whats out there. so take it from someone who has had this amp for nearly decade this thing only gets sweeter with time .

Best Amp of Its Kind

By The CunTones

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

This amp is the only one of its kind that meets my needs. I wanted a smaller amp for practice and small gigs that would get a blues overdriven sound, but clean enough for surf. Bigger amps would not get that blues overdrive at lower volume. Smaller amps did not have the power I needed. I used to have a Fender Twin Reverb. It had power and good clean, but terrible ovedrive. Tried the new Fender Blues amps, but found the overdrive terrible and the clean brittle and tinny. Anyway, this amp has many useable sounds. The 15 inch speaker fills a room with overdiven blues authority. Kudos to Peavey.

No standby? No problem.

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

Let me start by saying, I know not many will believe this, but do the research and perhaps you will. I hear a lot of chirping about lack of standby switch being an issue. I've built amps for quite a long while. I've used tube amps since I was nine and I'm well over fifty now. If you do your research and listen to some of the older tube techs you'll find that this standby switch that everyone is crowing about is NOT going to make much difference in your length of time the tubes take to gradate. The few odd minutes your on standby are not the cause of your tube life. Playing LOUD is. If your going to play at gig levels and if thats loud then your going to have to replace tubes. Get used to it. Its the price of doing business and unfortunately the quality of tubes these days. The more wide open a tube amp runs the faster the tubes will degrade. Period. They rattle because you have a huge speaker vibrating the daylights out of the cabinet. Standby's were added because this old wives tale won't die and it was cheaper to cater to the customer than to try and change they're mind. The lack of tube protection is more a concern than lack of a standby from a operational standpoint. Get a tube guard and install it so they don't get hit, go in and push the tubes in every so often and reduce your bass a bit and you'll have better luck than worrying about a standby switch. If you must put one in, any qualified tech could cut the trace in the circuit board and add one if it'll make you sleep better at night. I don't expect anyone will believe it and would rather argue about it, but those are the facts.

The best amp with a slight mistake

By LGW

from atlanta

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

I have been touring and recording for 16 years now. Owned many vintage all tube amps such as 70`s Fender Twin, Laney, 70`s Fender Deluxe, , Vox, Orange, etc... They were good but old with issues after awhile. I switched to contemporary amps and had so many different types through the years. This Delta Blues is definitely the best new amp i have ever had in my entire career. Had a Peavey Classic back around 2001 - i did not like it. This amp has it all. On very low volume (1) the amp smokes already. Sounds like an old silvertone. Turning it up a bit just gets better. I expected a really good sound but what i have here is way more than that. There is only one mistake. The stand by button. It has no stand by button and the silver panel gets so hot after an hour i have to actually be careful touching it. Its boiling hot. It would be nice to give this fantastic amp a rest between sets. Other than that its a winner.

Better than Fender Hot Rod Deluxe!

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

I went to look at the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe at my local guitar shop based on a friend's recommendation (a guitar tech for a popular Las Vegas show). After trying the amp out, I really didn't like the sound I got out of it. The salesman then suggested I try out the Delta Blues amp, and I was blown away. Better cleans, crunch sounds, highs, lows - everything. Looked around for a few weeks at other brands in the same price range (Vox, Marshall) but kept coming back to the Delta Blues and finally bought it. Nothing in its price range even compares to the tone you can get out of this thing. I highly recommend it.
No standby switch, and footswitch does not come standard - gotta buy it seperately.
Great look, great sound, great price.
Great sounding amp for the price.

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

I researched amps for months and agonized over this decision.... I'm very picky about tone... I was between a very expensive boutique amp and the Peavey Delta Blues.

You will not find a better amp out there for the money than the Delta Blues on a new amp...

After watching a lot of YouTube and reading a lot of reviews here's what I thought the pitfalls would be with this amp:

    Reverb
I had heard the Reverb wasn't that good and I had previously owned a Peavey Classic 30. The Reverb surprised me... It is very good.. very usable.. not a Fender Twin but very very good.

    Back covering of Tubes
I heard the tubes were exposed but I guess the 2013 model fixed that as mine came with tube covering.

    Reverb hum
I haven't found this to be a problem with mine.

    Tremolo
not bad... not great... probably the biggest weakness of this amp.

no regets... amazing tone for the money.... gives you that "gritty" tube tone

I am viciously protectionist....made in the USA means a lot to me. That being said, sound is foremost. With this amp. I got both. I play delta blues of Broonzy, Robert Johnson, and all the roots dudes, and play out all the time. This amp has warmth and bite, with real growl at higher volumes. I love it. Hand over my heart to the brothers making these down in Mississippi.

Forget all the bad reviews you see about this amp, there isn't anything bad about it. I have been a musician for 50 years and this is by far the best sounding amp I have ever played through. It has such a great sound. The natural distortion is the best I've ever heard. On most amplifiers the bass is too basy, and the treble is too trebily, not with this amp, it's the perfect combination of bass and treble giving you a full rich sound. Stop fooling around and buy this amp, you won't be sorry.

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

This is by far my favorite amp I have ever owned. The first thing I did after playing it on the distortion channel, was list all my distortion/overdrive pedals on eBay! No need for them. This is the nicest sounding gain channel I have ever heard. Somewhere between a Marshall and a Fender. I have owned the following amps, Quilter 2x10, Marshall JCM2000 50 watt with 1960A cab, Fender Twin, Fender Deluxe, Fender Deluxe Reverb, Peavy Classic 30, Peavey Classic 50 4x10, Peavey Bandit. I only need this amp. Does everything I need it to. Love the Effects loop. I set my delay pedal on top of the amp and that's it. I do have a wah, MXR phase and MXR chorus on my board though. The Tremelo channel on this amp is very nice. I have heard better reverb, but it's pretty darn good. Buy the optional foot pedal. With a distortion channel this sweet, you will be using it. Often! Also, the pedal allows you to switch the tremelo on and off as well.LOVE THIS AMP!

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

My friend got this amp way back in the 90's and he recently gave me this a while ago in exchange for some cymbals and all I can say is that, this amp is more than I could ever ask for!!!! Clean overdrive, and yet, when you want, you can really get that dirty nasty blues sound you want. Also I mainly use it in church (although i have played a few hardcore shows with it) and it blends really well with everything else. Good for playing ambient type of music. But all in all, this is an amazing amp and I recommend it to anyone who wants a versatile amp! I mean it really can handle anything from hardcore music to really soft indie or worship music. Its a classic, you won't be disappointed.

I have owned this amp for a year now and have practiced, jammed, and gigged with it, putting many miles on it since my purchase. This amp is hot. For the price, I promise you will not find a better tube amp. You probably won't find another tube amp this good for a cool grand. With that being said, 30 watts is all you need. I play in a 5 piece band, we are a house band that plays every Thursday at the local bar, we play Rock & Blues, and I can cut through all of their half & full stacks like there is no tomorrow. Mine still has the original tubes & they are going strong.Only problem is no stand-by switch. What were you thinking Peavey?

I was working for one of the largest and the oldest guitar shops in Birmingham when I bought my DB. After playing every specialty amp in every store in the metro area I could not find a amp with a sweeter, smoother, more responsive clean tone,or a fuller more impowering overdive. I have had my DB for nearly ten years, and if I ever need more power I will simply buy another DB.

Comments about Peavey Delta Blues 115 Tube Combo Amp:

This Peavey Delta Blues amp is amazing, reliable and all around, one of the best things that's ever happened to me!Growing up, this amp belonged to my best friends dad who just after a good awhile, gave it to his son in 8th grade. My junior year in high school (?06 -?07) I started playing at my church when my friend decided I needed the amp more than he did since he was a drummer. So ever since then, this amp has been faithful! Never fails. I played in front of 30,000 people at an event called Winterfest 2008 in Knoxville, Tenn. and it sounded amazing mic'd!Also the reverb, tremolo, are warm and natural sounding, which is what I love. And though I don?t use it much, the lead channel also has a real nice bluesy gain to it. If you play, worship, ambient music or even like to play a little southern metal or hardcore or pair it with whatever pedal(s) you use, this amp will do it!Through the amp I currently run: MXR Carbon Copy, Boss DD-20, Holy Grail, Line 6 DL4, Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, JHS Synth Drive, Boss CS-3 Compression, and a Pigtronix Attack Sustain - and they sound awesome through this amp!

This amp sounds great but it has a couple of problems. First...the speaker is hard wired (no speaker jack for the on-board speaker). You can't use it to power another head without the speaker playing too.

The external speaker jack is for 16ohms only. Just about everything in the world is 8 or 4 ohms so this limits you to only a sixteen ohm load. I know there are "work arounds" but I don't want to spend this money and then have to work around stuff. I can't play this amp with just my 1x12 mesa cab by itself. Why 16 ohms? So you can buy Peaveys 16ohm extension cab?

      Great Amp, period.GREAT reverb
If your wondering and or thinking this amp only does blues then the anwser is no. I use a EHXbigmuffpie, a pre-amp tube pedal, and a zee vex fuzz face.
