High power and tonal versatility in a rackmountable head.

Peavey proudly introduces the Headliner™, a new rackmountable bass amplifier head in the Peavey Tour™ Series that brings massive power and innovative tone features to demanding bass players. The Peavey Headliner is a 600 watt bass amplifier head that puts an incredible range of features at players' fingertips.

The Headliner amp features a seven-band graphic EQ spaced at optimized frequencies, with each slider providing 15dB of cut and boost to provide comprehensive tone shaping at precise frequency bands. Players can use the graphic EQ in conjunction with the low and high shelving-type tone controls, or bypass the graphic EQ entirely.

A built-in, footswitchable optical compressor with level control and bypass allows players to add the right amount of compression to the mix, while the footswitchable Crunch feature adds a vintage tube effect that distorts only the high frequencies, preserving the all-important, fat low end. The Headliner also features Bright and Contour switches, effects loop, master volume, and headphone out. For recording and live performance situations, a built-in XLR direct interface lets you route the signal to a PA or recording device.

Peavey's exclusive DDT™ speaker-protection circuitry senses the onset of clipping and responds with slight compression that allows the amp to retain the tone, headroom, and dynamics (bypass switch included).

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

Peavey has done an outstanding job with the tonal versatility of this amp. Tones are easily dialed in and the compressor is adequate. The best way to run this amplifier for higher volumes is to run two 8 Ohm cabinets parallel. I currently use this rig in a hair metal / 80's rock band with big drums and 2 screaming guitars while having plenty of "headroom". My cab configuration is the Headliner 410 (8 Ohm) atop a Harbinger 118 (also 8 ohm). The thing simply pounds if you have the cabs to let it push.

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

Not sure what Peavey is trying to do here, but in the manual it says absolutely nothing about 600W. I bought this amp along with the Peavey headliner 4X10 expecting to see a dramatic change in volume from my fender 60W, only to find the actual ratings for this amp is 200W @ 8 ohms and 300W @ 4 ohms. Very disappointing, and it seems that the specs are deliberately misleading/false. That being said, if the volume is not a factor here, it has many good features that come in handy when adjusting your sound, even if it's too quiet to hear over guitar and drums.

Could be better. Could be alot worse!

      By Mark Curtis

      from Louisville Kentucky

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

The wattage rating is my biggest quam. If that's 600 watts I'll kiss your foot! The old 150 watt amp I was replacing with this blows this away in output. I have had to add a 500 watt power amp and use the Peavey Headliner as a preamp for all of our larger engagments. It just won't cut it by itself.
Crunch? Just what every amp needs! A little button that makes it sound ugly!
All the other stuff is pretty good. Especially the compressor.
Looks good so far but you better get a rack case to put it in. I did!
For this much money who can complain too much! It's an amp! You plug in and sound comes out!

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

I have not had this Peavey Headliner 600 long, but I love the sound of it, brought my bass to life. I have always loved pavey gear. I hope this lives as long as the other Peavey stuff I had in the past.
Love all the features on this amp for tone shaping, and the xlr line out has the pre and post out so you can choose one. The compressor is great also.
So Far so good, I will tell you this. It blows away the amps that I have played with my cabinet, Including SWR, and Line 6. ( in sound quality)

      Headliner 600 Watt

      By Ed Denton

      from New Mexico

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

Disapointed that it is advertised to be a 600 watt head. Doesn't matter if it is program power or SWR watts the person that is looking at amps may be looking for an amp for a larger venue and waste money on an amp that is too small because of marketing techniques. If it is marked 600 watts on the front like this amp is, then it needs to supply 600 watts at 8 ohms out the back end, IMHO.
The amp has very usable features. The compressor is nice, The EQ is nice. In addition to the EQ there is highs, and lows adjustments. seems to be well made.
For the cost it is a good amp. Seems to be made with quality components.
It is a good value for the price.

      By Eric Lindhome

      from Undisclosed

Comments about Peavey Headliner 600W Bass Amp Head:

This pretty much is the exact same head on the pevey tour tnt well it actually is its set up the same even has the same seris logo but anyway wIth the tnt the amp head is fantastic with a 115 it will give you the low like no other and pair it up with 410 on of the best sounding amps you could possibly get and you will move massive amounts of air all in all for the price you get a really good amp head with a lot of features and a lot of power for a low price
has so many features to shape your tone but not so much that you cant figure it out
      really good
