7 watts through an 8” speaker with loads of effects make this the ultimate grab-and-go modeling guitar amp.

The Peavey Nano Vypyr guitar combo amp packs 11 amp models and 36 effects combinations into one tiny package. The Nano Vypyr brings the tones and technology on the award-winning Vypyr Series to a portable modeling guitar amp that can be powered by an AC adapter or batteries.

The Nano Vypyr features 11 exclusive analog amp models. It also features global bass, mid, treble and gain controls to adjust the tones of each model. The preamp section is based on Peavey’s patented analog TransTube technology, while the power section is lightweight class D.

The Peavey Nano Vypyr also has a built-in DSP section that includes chorus, wah, compression, compression/chorus, flanger, octave, tremolo, rotary speaker, reverb and delay with tap tempo, with 36 possible combinations. An effects control knob adjusts multiple parameters for each effect at once, while the optional expression pedal gives users real-time parameters control over the effects. Additional features include a microphone input with level, chromatic tuner, auxiliary input and headphone output.

Comments about Peavey Nano Vypyr 7W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is the best amp in the portable "grab-n-go" amp category in my opinion - not to knock the others. Amp makers from Roland to Fender and others are making some pretty impressive battery-powered amps these days, which makes Peavey's Nano that much more impressive. Best in category gets a five star rating to my way of thinking. Peavey was smart when it eventually entered this category a couple years ago. Rather than try to "out small" or "out cute" the competition, it simply shrunk down their already excellent Vypyr and made it operable on batteries (or 9v AC with included adapter) without sacrificing most of the features or functionality of its larger siblings. Some of the things that set it apart from the rest: a little larger speaker with surprising bass response, seperate reverb and delay controls (including tap delay) that can be added to other FX, ability to use an expression pedal, no need for a multi-effects pedal (most of which cost as much or more than this little amp) - every FX you could want are there - wah, phaser, flange, chorus etc..., ample amp models from acoustic through to several metal choices, and a tilt back. It also includes Peavey's patentented Transtube technology, which is analog. I am a believer in this tech. Not sure they hit the mark in perfectly replicating tube amp tone but the Peavey's with Transtube have a pleasing sound unto themselves. I'm especially impressed with the acoustic and clean models, but I like the two overdrive modes the best -- excellent. This little amp provides surprisingly nice tones clean to high gain. For the purchasing price, it exceeded my expectations all the way around.

Comments about Peavey Nano Vypyr 7W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

The styling and features are great. I may have gotten a lemon, not sure. All I know is that after 20 minutes the dang thing just stops working and the tuner light flashed "b". I believe it is a thermal issue as it will come back after I recycle power. Very annoying.

Comments about Peavey Nano Vypyr 7W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

My 12 yaer old appropriated my Roland mini-Cube I've had since they came out. So I've been reserching for another small porta'amp.
Peavey's got a winner with this one! Now you ain't gonna get anything close to a real warm and buff tube High gain dist/overdirve with a little battery powered amp so that was out of my criteria. I wanted something very small for camping, hotel rooms, and my girlfriend's hut when I go smoke cigs outside during warmer months. And I wanted it as a stand alone porta' amp. Sometimes I would hook up a overdrive to my old Roland Cube and I was never completely satisfied with the limited tone options of the Cube. Don't get me wrong, I was content with it as were talking "wee-amps" here, not 5150s, Marshalls, Engels, Egnaters and such. But I decided to try something different and man! The cleans sounds waaaay okay for this size and intended use. The dist/overdrives are about as beefy and useful I've heard coming from a small battery weeamp. The effects sound very clear and having separate controls for delay and reverb are awsome in this package size. This amp is perfect for those nights at hotels/motels for work related trainings. I didn't give it a 5 as it has yet to survive the abuse and test of time on the road and in the sticks.

WOW !!! This is quite a brute !! GREAT clean tone....and really loud for it's size. Tap tempo delay, reverb both w/ levels, 10"x10"x10" inches in size & weighs about nothing...and runs on AC or batteries....I tried out about 10 little amps like this....and this one is by far the BEST !!!! Did I mention GREAT CLEAN TONE.....Peavey hit a homerun / grandslam on this one. BUY IT NOW !!!!
