OVERVIEW

A practice amp with real tone!

The Peavey Solo guitar practice amplifier has 12W of power to drive an 8" Blue Marvel speaker. What sets it apart from the crowd is Peavey's TransTube preamp that gives it remarkably realistic tube amp tone and dynamic response. Peavey's exclusive, patented TransTube technology emulates the sound of tube amplifiers with the convenience and reliability of solid-state design.

The amp has a master volume control and separate lead gain control. Combined with the clean and lead channel switch, you can go from chunking rhythm to screaming lead in an instant! A three-band passive EQ allows you to further tweak your tone.

The 1/4" inch stereo tape/CD input jack allows you to jam along with your favorite recordings, and the headphone jack makes it possible to do it all without bothering the neighbors.

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

This amp was actually a gift for a friend. I own a Peavey Rage 158 practice amp and it's perfect for jamming with friends. This amp is right on par with my Rage 158 - it's a nice little portable practice amp with decent sound, and it's relatively inexpensive. It's an all-around good buy.

    Solid practice amp

    By hlestringman

    from East Texas

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

This is a good sounding solid state amp. Behaves somewhat like a tube amp. Good compression like a tube amp. Think more like two 12AX7's not a big power tube. For the price it is a really good deal. If the CD and headphone inputs were 1/8" it would be perfect.

    Phat sounds, small box

    By Bernie Michaels

    from New Mexico

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

I picked one of these up for a steal. The sound is great, with the gain cranked it certainly does the job of sounding like a classic tube amp.I personally use it as a loudspeaker, however, my Digitech RP-500 sounds amazing through the line in, and I cannot hear any coloration of the sound from that input. Anyone who is looking for a solid bedroom amp to pair up with a multi-effect board, use the built in amp/cab emulation and not have to fight with the amp trying to color the sound too much, you cannot go wrong with this little gem.

    Great little Amp!!!

    By M@

    from Cheney, WA

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

Great amp for if you live in a small appartment like me. Has clean and overdrive channels, no reverb. It can get good and loud when you want it to. I use it to drown out my neighbors rap music sometimes.

    Mega Amp!

    By psyco hippy

    from Willits, CA

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

Before My Marshall was #1 I had one of thease, and I must tell you that it can take one heck of a beating! I pluged my old beat up metal petal into it, turned all knobs on it full blast, and pushed the distortion button, and it was louder than heck! I've Had it for about 4 years and it still seems to hold up. The one problem though is the very loud buzzing, but it had been an amazing practice amp for me and I'm shure it will for you.

    Nice Little Amp

    By Fred-LOZHj

    from Missouri

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

I played this at a friends house and was impressed. I have several tube amps, and was amazed how much Peavey nailed the "tube" dynamics on this little guy. It was loud for just 12 watts and didn't sound real "boxy", like many smaller amps do. It looks sturdy too. Nice job, Peavey. I am buying one for the garage.

    For Starters

    By RetroRocker-tV-vU

    from The desert of Texas

Comments about Peavey Solo Guitar Practice Amp:

I got this amp as a first amp for my first guitar. It does what it says. Not a gigging amp because it does not do anything other than be loud, no reverb, no chorus. But for a beginner this has been a great amp. The overdrive is spectacular for playing heavy distortion stuff like The White Stripes or some of Neil Young's later work. Overall its a good beginnger amp, but if you want a amp that can do it all while not bringing your wallet down, get a vox 15w valvatronix, thats what I'm getting.
