I had been looking to upgrade my pedalboard for some time now and I had always been drawn to the Pedaltrain series. I know many musicians who use them and you see them just about everywhere you go and on TV. I figured there must be something to them. I received it about a week ago and it lived up to what I was expecting. First of all the design is brilliant. It's built very well and it's easy to set up. I love that it was specifically designed to accommodate the Voodoo Labs power supply (or similar power supply). The gig bag is also very well made and practical. One complaint I have is the quality of the velcro. I wiped down the pedalboard as instructed to make sure it adhered well to the surface but one out of the four strips kept coming up. The others are still hanging on but they look like they could also come loose. But it's a quick and simple fix. I picked up some industrial strength velcro for like $8 and it's all good now. I find it funny that a such a great product comes with inferior velcro. But I'm not too upset over that, it was an easy remedy. The only other thing that I can think of that I dislike might be the price. Even though it's a great design, it's a basic and simple product. But ALL pedalboards are way overpriced so I won't gripe too much about that either. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the PT-2.

The carrying bag is of good quality, but otherwise nothing special about Pedaltrain?s overpriced PT-2 pedalboard. It is a major hassle to attach the mounting brackets supplied for a powersupply. You will have to drill your own mounting holes, so you?d better have a good drill and metal boring bit. At this price, you'd think Pedaltrain would at least pre-tap the frame for the mounting brackets or maybe even come up with a more user friendly design. I probably should have sent mine back to MF, as I received a previously sold scratched up item that apparently, the previous owner had attempted or considered mounting a powersupply, but thought better of it, packed it back up, and returned it. Wish I had seen the demos and reviews on YouTube before purchasing. Check them out yourself and save yourself a headache. Purchase something else, it is not worth it.

Terrific Pedalboard!

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I recently purchased the PT-2 because I was tired of lugging an SKB PS-45 around. While the PT-2 doesn't have a power supply like the SKB, I find it a thousand times more convenient. I currently fit an Ernie Ball volume pedal as well as 10 other pedals...(yes....10!) on my PT-2. The PT-2 comes with brackets so that you can mount a Pedal Power (or similar) power supply underneath the board but I power everything with a One Spot with no problems whatsoever. The PT-2 is rugged and the soft case is sturdy and comes with a shoulder strap. The overall footprint of the PT-2 is far smaller than the SKB and I am kicking myself for not getting this board sooner!

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I like the simple design. It's both large and lightweight. Fits a wah wah and eight pedals without crowding. Attaching a power supply requires some drilling. I'm handy and still had some difficulty. I think PedalTrain should partner with a few companies (e.g., Voodoo Labs) to pre-fit the brackets, (which are supplied) so that you only need to screw them in. The drilling can get a little tricky. On another note, my MF sales rep (LeVon?) was outstanding. I'd received a damaged Gator board initially and he made the exchange a no brainer.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I bought this to replace my 50 Lbs. homemade board, and man, is it great. It feels like I could park a truck on it. (Probably couldn't) It is extremely light and i can run every cable under the board as well as a power strip. The case is great. It's well padded and has a massive pocket in the front. I recomend buying a warranty with it to make you feel it's invincible. I don't think I'll be using it, but I feel great having it. I am very happy with this board and will use it till I die. (It will probably last till then anyway.) ;)

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I owned have used the Pedal Train Pro for the last 2+ years. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and used the heck out of it. In the last few months it came to a point where I just realized I didn't need to haul around such a big pedal board. Since I am such a big fan of the PedalTrain line, I went with the PT-2 with the soft case. In comparison to the Pro that I got years ago, the medal seems more durable and lighter weight. They seem to be better prepared for mounting the power supply under the board. The soft case bag is even better quality. I am really pleased with the board, the case, and the items they send you to get you set up. I am a big fan of this company, and I am glad I made this purchase.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

The last few years I've been slowly transitioning from playing through a multi fx unit to building up a collection of quality pedals to get the sounds I was after. I didn't want to shell out the cash for a pedalboard until I had all the pedals I needed so I wouldn't have to upgrade to a bigger board later on. Right now my pedalboard consists of a phaser, two od's, a big muf* tone wicker, an analog delay, a 7-band eq, a reveb pedal, a BBE sonic stomp plus the foot controller for my amp (a Peavey Delta Blues 115). Everything fits on the PT-2 like a glove and makes setting up and tearing down for gigs and rehearsals so much faster and easier. It's like having the convenience of a multi fx unit but without having to sacrifice on sound quality. I was carrying around my pedals in an old gym bag and they were getting pretty beat up and dirty. Now they're all tucked away in a nice padded bag. I haven't had a problem with the included Velcro. I did clean all the surfaces of the board and the bottoms of my pedals with rubbing alcohol before applying the Velcro so maybe that makes a difference. I had to remove the rubber pad from one of my pedals (a Visual Sound Open Road) to get it to stick but that really wasn't a problem. I used a planet waves solderless pedalboard cable kit to make the longer cable runs and it worked great and a Visual Sound One-Spot daisy chain for a power supply. So now all I have to do to is connect two instrument cables, my amps footswitch and plug in the one-spot power supply and I'm ready to rock. I only play locally so I didn't need the flight case. The soft shell case looks sturdy enough for local gigs and comes with a nice padded shoulder strap and a front pocket for holding extra cables, power strips and whatnot. Some might think that it's a little expensive for what it is but to me it was worth it just or the convenience aspect and the protection it provides my pedals. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I have been holding out for this pedal board because I already bought the VooDoo Lab power adapter which was designed to bolt on under it. Everything about this pedal board is good and it is solidly built! The soft shell case it comes with is also of excellent construction and seems pretty strong. All my pedals fit on this thing perfect and the VooDoo Lab installation was straight forward and easy.

I purchased this because I was tired of always setting up and re-setting up my pedals individually. You could imagine doing this for maybe 2-3 pedals. Try doing it with 6 like me. After I purchased this pedaltrain I purchased a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power to supply my pedals with juice.
So glad I got this Pedaltrain. I will buy another soon.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

PT Pro is perfect for the studio or touring. Used a PTJr for fly-dates but found it a bit to limited with the size. After a some Airline "carry-on" research, found the PT2 was the perfect size for flights. Slightly over a few airline size restrictions (and only by a little - not enough to cause issue) but perfect for most.

Big enough to allow for a few "extra" colors on the pedal board, small enough to carry over the shoulder in the gig bag and put in the overhead bin on a plane. Done.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I bought and used this pedalboard on several gigs so far and it's very road worthy. Gets a little heavy to carry after filling it with pedals but that's to be expected. One thing I regret was not purchasing the Pro version since I needed a little more space to put my FCB1010 and Boss TU2000 tuner on. I also purchased the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus and fits underneath perfectly with a few simple drilled holes. The velcro seems to work ok and my pedals don't fall off but that will depend on how you put it on the bottom of your pedals. The only little issue I have with it is it has a piece of loose metal inside the frame and can be heard whenever I remove it from the bag.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This thing is definitely a great addition to any guitarist's arsenal, but it does have some points that need improving. I don't know if I recieved a lemon or not, but the "tallywacker" portions of the zippers broke off within two weeks of purchase. The velcro that holds the pedals in place IS BEAST!! I think it could hold a Cadillac to the roof!! The only downside is that the adhesive on the backside of the strip wears out after several months. Overall, any pedalboard is definitely an improvement over having random pedals thrown all over the place. But this one is easy to customize, pedal placement is a breeze, cable routing is simple and the board itself is built like a tank. But do yourself a favor and save up the green for the hard shell case.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I started out with a pedaltrain Jr. and loved it. But soon the strap Holder broke and tore the bag. It was still useable but annoying. If you just play around town and go out on occasion its perfect, but would suggest the flight case for traveling. I ended up getting the Pedaltrain PT-2 and it rocks. I go to play and i have it on my back with my guitar in one hand, and a amp in another one. No more setting up multiple pedals all over the floor just pull this baby out and there all wired, powered, and ready to play. Its compact and whenever you get to your gig, pull it out, set it on the floor, plug in your guitar and your ready to rock. All around a awesome pedal board i would suggest it to anyone who wants a compact, clean looking pedalboard thats easy to take places!

              Should last forever
I didn't mind the price 'cause I thought it was a complete setup, board, wire ties, velcro. Turns out there is not enough velcro to cover the board as they suggest and the stuff they give you is weak. Might be fine if all your pedals are very light but I had to spend another $12 to get the Godlyke hook and loop that really works for this application. It's almost an insult to see the cheap velcro packed with such a nice board. Come on pedaltrain, you know you are packing inferior velcro with your boards, why not include something that really works?

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This is a practical and functional pedalboard. It comes with "industrial strength" velcro and brackets to mount a power supply unit underneath the board, allowing more room for pedals. It is very easy to install the brackets. Even a retarded monkey can do it. I have an RP-355 multi-effect unit and 8 pedals on this board. The pedals are from Boss, Modtone and MXR. The bag is sturdy and will meet my needs. I have all the wiring, cables and power supply underneath the board, resulting in a clean look. Check the pictures on the manufacturer's website to get an idea on what size of pedalboard to purchase based on the pedals you have. I am pleased with my set up.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

It's a solid pedal board with a good, clean design. I wish it were lighter, but without using some exotic (and therefore really expensive) material, I don't see how that would be feasible.

After putting everything together, I wish I could've reduced my pedal collection and used the smaller version, but that's certainly not a fault of the product!

Unlike some of the other reviewers I didn't have much trouble making some brackets to mount a DC Brick power supply I already owned. It just takes a bit of patience and some very basic tools: a vice, a hammer, a tape measure, a hacksaw, and something to make marks.
