I had been looking to upgrade my pedalboard for some time now and I had always been drawn to the Pedaltrain series. I know many musicians who use them and you see them just about everywhere you go and on TV. I figured there must be something to them. I received it about a week ago and it lived up to what I was expecting. First of all the design is brilliant. It's built very well and it's easy to set up. I love that it was specifically designed to accommodate the Voodoo Labs power supply (or similar power supply). The gig bag is also very well made and practical. One complaint I have is the quality of the velcro. I wiped down the pedalboard as instructed to make sure it adhered well to the surface but one out of the four strips kept coming up. The others are still hanging on but they look like they could also come loose. But it's a quick and simple fix. I picked up some industrial strength velcro for like $8 and it's all good now. I find it funny that a such a great product comes with inferior velcro. But I'm not too upset over that, it was an easy remedy. The only other thing that I can think of that I dislike might be the price. Even though it's a great design, it's a basic and simple product. But ALL pedalboards are way overpriced so I won't gripe too much about that either. Trust me, you won't be disappointed with the PT-2.

The carrying bag is of good quality, but otherwise nothing special about Pedaltrain?s overpriced PT-2 pedalboard. It is a major hassle to attach the mounting brackets supplied for a powersupply. You will have to drill your own mounting holes, so you?d better have a good drill and metal boring bit. At this price, you'd think Pedaltrain would at least pre-tap the frame for the mounting brackets or maybe even come up with a more user friendly design. I probably should have sent mine back to MF, as I received a previously sold scratched up item that apparently, the previous owner had attempted or considered mounting a powersupply, but thought better of it, packed it back up, and returned it. Wish I had seen the demos and reviews on YouTube before purchasing. Check them out yourself and save yourself a headache. Purchase something else, it is not worth it.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

It's a solid pedal board with a good, clean design. I wish it were lighter, but without using some exotic (and therefore really expensive) material, I don't see how that would be feasible.

After putting everything together, I wish I could've reduced my pedal collection and used the smaller version, but that's certainly not a fault of the product!

Unlike some of the other reviewers I didn't have much trouble making some brackets to mount a DC Brick power supply I already owned. It just takes a bit of patience and some very basic tools: a vice, a hammer, a tape measure, a hacksaw, and something to make marks.

Great to have all effects and board in one bag ready to use. I'm using the "One Spot" for power. The pedalboard seems very durable and well built. The soft case is functioning well also. This is a very good setup.

This kit is awesome! The board has plenty of room, the bag is very nice, and it comes with everything you need to get started (adhesive velcro, and mounting hardware for a power brick). Well worth the money :D

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-2 Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

The last few years I've been slowly transitioning from playing through a multi fx unit to building up a collection of quality pedals to get the sounds I was after. I didn't want to shell out the cash for a pedalboard until I had all the pedals I needed so I wouldn't have to upgrade to a bigger board later on. Right now my pedalboard consists of a phaser, two od's, a big muf* tone wicker, an analog delay, a 7-band eq, a reveb pedal, a BBE sonic stomp plus the foot controller for my amp (a Peavey Delta Blues 115). Everything fits on the PT-2 like a glove and makes setting up and tearing down for gigs and rehearsals so much faster and easier. It's like having the convenience of a multi fx unit but without having to sacrifice on sound quality. I was carrying around my pedals in an old gym bag and they were getting pretty beat up and dirty. Now they're all tucked away in a nice padded bag. I haven't had a problem with the included Velcro. I did clean all the surfaces of the board and the bottoms of my pedals with rubbing alcohol before applying the Velcro so maybe that makes a difference. I had to remove the rubber pad from one of my pedals (a Visual Sound Open Road) to get it to stick but that really wasn't a problem. I used a planet waves solderless pedalboard cable kit to make the longer cable runs and it worked great and a Visual Sound One-Spot daisy chain for a power supply. So now all I have to do to is connect two instrument cables, my amps footswitch and plug in the one-spot power supply and I'm ready to rock. I only play locally so I didn't need the flight case. The soft shell case looks sturdy enough for local gigs and comes with a nice padded shoulder strap and a front pocket for holding extra cables, power strips and whatnot. Some might think that it's a little expensive for what it is but to me it was worth it just or the convenience aspect and the protection it provides my pedals. I'm very happy with my purchase.

This board with the soft case is a great value. It comes with lots of velcro & simple instructions. I went to youtube for setup tips. I am powering it with the Visual Sound Spot One daisy chain, but haven't mounted it to the bottom yet. It's great that the board is strong & lightweight, because the pedals will add a lot of weight to the rig.

Does a great job of organizing your pedals and patch cables. Mounted Voodoo Power supply to board and wired everything fairly quickly. Nice having cables routed under board keeping them safe and well connected. Velcro holds all of my pedals well secured to board and easy to reach.

This is a good pedalboard and it does what it's supposed to do. However, mounting a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus to it was a total NIGHTMARE. They include mounting brackets for this specific power supply, which, in my opinion, means they should also include instructions on how to mount. Actually, they should probably just pre-drill the holes. If the pedalboard is designed to work with that particular power supply, why should you have to drill holes in the metal to accomodate it? It was a total pain. I did get it to work, but it was a real job getting it done.
