Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

When you're ready to get rid of that piece of plywood you've been using and step up to a real pedalboard, it's time for a Pedaltrain. Simple, functional, perfect. Mounting brackets for a Voodoo Lab power supply are included. The PT-Jr is larger than you think and can fit up to 10 effect pedals. Softside case has semi-rigid panels offering extra protection.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

Maybe I'm the idiot here, but I didn't realize from the description that it's just the board, no power supply is included. It was easy enough to hook up a power supply from an old pedal board, but I wish it was a bit clearer in the description that there is no power supply here.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This is a very sturdy board, and I like the rail design compared to a solid board. It can hold about 8 standard size pedals, or a wah and 6 pedals. Case, power supply mounting brackets, velcro, and instructions are all great.

I also bought the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ power supply which this board is specifically designed to accommodate. My only complaint is that the Voodoo Lab power supply can only be mounted in the center of the board, which can cause hum problems if you use a wah (see the Pedal Power 2+ reviews). I ended up drilling a third large hole in the front rail so I could mount the power supply further to the left, away from my wah (see pic). This was no easy task, but it works great now and I am not picking up any transformer hum in the wah. I would suggest Pedaltrain add this third hole to the standard design so people have more flexibility in mounting the power supply.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

If you have 6-8 standard size pedals and need a lightweight board to mount them on this is perfect. It can only hold only a few pedals if you use a wah or other large device, though, which I don't much, so that's not an issue.

I mounted a BBE Supa Charger underneath with no problem at all, and was able to easily mount eight pedals.

I like how neat and clean this board looks, especially compared to the larger, bulkier boards with built-in power supplies and other features. This one lets you place the power supply underneath and out of the way, and it's made of lightweight material so you can easily carry it anywhere.

I definitely recommend the PT-JR to anyone.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I looked at tons of pedalboards before choosing this one. Tons. There are so many options out there, it is hard to make up your mind. I use 6 pedals, and don't really plan on having too many more, so I narrowed it down to this one and a couple hard-shell options from Pedal Pad and NYC Pedalboards.

In all honesty, for my usage the other ones just seemed overkill. I don't want to lug around some huge bulky thing because I take my stuff back and forth to church around twice a week. This was less expensive and does the job just as well. If I was packing it in a bus on the road, it might be different.

It fits all 6 of my pedals easily, and would fit 8 if needed. I use a 1-spot, but the built-in holes for the Voodoo Labs supply are nice should I ever get one. The carry bag is very sturdy with plenty of room for cables, music, supplies, etc.

It was the right decision for me.

I really like this pedalboard. It is metal, so very sturdy. Only issue is the spacing between the rails. It is difficult to velcro a small pedal if it does not make good contact with at least two rails. Surprisingly, you can fit quite a few pedals on this. Very nice.

As usual, PedalTrain makes an excellent pedalboard. I had the PT-Pro previously and wanted a more scaled down setup. This has been perfect and the quality was just as good as the pro model.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I bought this to replace my $10 DIY board that i've been using for the last few years. i finally got fed up with looking at pictures of boards that were neat, tidy, and professional looking and i decided to get this. though this board is one of the smaller of pedaltrain's line, you'd be surprised what you can fit on here! my VS Comp 66, Visual Volume, Korg tuner, Boss GE-7 EQ, TC Electronic Nova Repeater, and my bulky footswitch for my Orange Rocker 30 all fit on here, quite snugly. add some solderless cable, and a mini-patchbay for a few ins and outs that are hard to get to, and my board is now complete! build quality is great, including the supplies they give you along with the board. the included Velcro is top notch, and the zip ties came very much in handy. the case is pretty sturdy too. i feel comfortable putting it (carefully!) in the bed of my truck with all the rest of my heavy gear.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

I bought this one specifically I love my PT-II but I needed a smaller board for my accoustic gig. Same bullet proof quality/fit/finish just a smaller package. I've drilled several 5/8" holes to allow for cable routing to eliminate any posibility of snagging a patch or power cable. Which is my only beef with PedalTrain. I do think they need to accomodate by drilling/ punching holes underneath the deck to allow for cable management. I do it with a step drill but it gets pretty dicey the closer you get to the front side. Otherwise I love this smaller version of my larger board....VERY cool that they include the mounts for the VooDoo Labs Pedal PowerII as well as the two holes punched for the the PedalPower power in/out! If you buy it...you won't be disappointed

Great option for using 8 or so pedals. You can easily Velcro just about any power supply you want under it. I use a TRex Fuel Tank Jr. Just used Velcro ((actually the stronger Dual Lock) to fasten it under the rails. Works great! No drilling required.

If you are like me and use a moderate number of pedals around 6-8, this is perfect. The case with it permits you to leave the pedals attached when transporting the board with pedals. Everything can be nicely velcroed in place, permitting you to change the arrangement easily. Frame is very sturdy by light weight.

I've had actual hardshell pedalboard cases that were less sturdy than this one.
The pedal rack is nice and has lots of room for Velcro on it. I have room for a wah, four Boss pedals and a smaller looper pedal. I might squeeze one more full size on there if I had to, but beware it is a smaller board.
The case is nice and padded and with regular use I think it will protect the pedals just fine.

I have a few boards, an old Boss, a couple of cheap ones. I wanted a solid one with good clean power. So I got the Voodoo power with this one. One problem is with the Voodoo, the sag controls cannot be reached when its attached to the board. A small problem since I turned them low and set it for normal operation so I can switch them over from the bottom, but can't adjust. Don't plan on using them anyway. I got with cloth case. Seems real pro. Watch out MF doesn't add an insurance to your purchase if you don't want it, they did to me.

Comments about Pedaltrain PT-JR Pedalboard with Softshell Gig Bag:

This board is built like a tank. if you have alot of pedals, this is probably not the board for you, but if you are running 3-8 pedals, this is just the right size. I mounted the Voodoo Labs 4x4 power supply underneath, the brackets required no modification at all. I just had to drill 4 pilot holes for the sheet metal screws that were included.

I literally had the whole thing set up in less than an hour.

No issues at all with the velcro attachments.

This is my second pedaltrain. They are built strong and allow wires to be routed underneath as well as power supply.

This is perfect for me, a bass player, because it fits a Line 6 G50 wireless receiver, Bassbone OD, four Boss effects and a Korg Pitchblack tuner.

It included two brackets and four sheet metal screws for which I drilled holes in the underside to permanently affix the 15V Line 6 wall wart and a 9V 850mA wall wart (to power everything else), permanently plugged into the receiving end of a standard extension cord.

I leave the output signal cord attached, so all I have to do is coil the output cord and the extension cord and it all goes right into its soft case as a single piece, and the wireless transmitter fits into the pocket on the outside of its case.

This means I transport my entire rig in just five pieces: two basses, pedalboard, speaker cabinet, and a roll-on travel case that contains two amp heads, two instrument stands, power strip, tool kit, circuit tester, and spares of everything except effects pedals: tuner, power supplies, cords and cables, strings, DI (AND a cabinet mic and shorty stand), and, if I am new to the band or just subbing in, a music stand and charts.

The only downside is that I would have preferred to have more options for underside brackets, for attaching power supplies, but I was able to make the included brackets work.

Sure, any pedal board would let me consolidate down to just five pieces of gear, but this one is particularly flexible because it is not over-engineered, and it is easy to carry because it is lightweight and its case has an outside pocket and both a hand-grip and shoulder-strap.

I only use a few pedals and was looking for an easy way to keep them "ready to play". The Pedaltrain JR turned out to be just what I was looking for.
