Perfect for piano sounds in practice room or small club/restaurant gigs.
I've been using the previous Crate version of this Phonic MK15 at school for over five years It has never failed to work properly. I bought the Phonic MK15 to practice in a small jazz combo at a friends house. We tried a real piano but it didn't mix well with electric guitar and electric bass. Now I'm running a Casio CDP-100 digital piano through it and it sounds just fine amplifying piano sounds enough to blend with the guitar and bass. It produces a clean hum-free sound. I don't want a big, heavy, full-range amplifier. This one is 20 lbs. light, solidly built and small enough to fit practically anywhere. The "trianglish" cabinet shape and speaker pointing upward at an angle enable me to hear what I'm playing better. It projects the sound forward and upward off the floor. The little tweeter and insert jack (to patch in effects) added to the Phonic are nice improvements over the Crate.
It is light but very sturdy.
It cost me $79.00 on sale.

First of all, I know accoustics, and when I see an 8" stage monitor, of 15W I know that it is not a stage monitor! The bass is weak, the volume is low, you're better off with a Nemesis N8s @40W!This is good enough for a garden party where you need music at dining volume, and even then, you're better off buying a cheap studio monitor. My review is mainly to level the ridiculous ratings given to this monitor. Don't expect you can use it in any situation where there's more noise than normal 1 on 1 conversation levels!

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

This is a great little amp for the price. I own a Phonic PA as well and find their products to be very reliable, high quality, and a great value. As long as you are not expected some big bass sounds from this little amp you will be extremely happy.

Nice Little Keyboard Amp

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

It is small, lightweight and quite loud for 15 Watts. Features below:Pros:LightweightRelatively InexpensiveLoud for 15 Watts!Good EQMulti-InputsCons:Not much bassNo Lo-Z input for micSo, if you want a very portable keyboard amp for small gigs or practice, this might be the ticket. If you want heavy bass, bring another amp for the low end. Microphone sound will probably not be satisfactory when used with keyboard equalization unless you sing alto or soprano. I may buy another one for stereo. It sounds good for the money. Phonic is known for portability.

Perfect for my environment

By CincinnatiKidd

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

As usual, Musician's Friend does it again by offering products (name & off brand) that offer more bang for the buck. I purchased the Phonic MK15 and received it today. Plugged it in right from the box and was surprised at the clean sound and power from this little giant. Great for practice and small "intimate" gigs. Easy to haul and ID-10-T proof. Figure it out! :o)Sure the low range isn't perfect and it will distort if you push it from the keyboard. I wish it had a bit more power on the CD In. Usually I have to turn down the level to get a good balance. Style is also good with angled case which puts the sound right where I need it. I agree with others who say at the current price(s) of this unit, why not use 2 for stereo.

Nice Sound... Small Package

By Anonymous

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

I bought this amp to STRICTLY use for playback of Ipod outdoors... I have a large PA system, a middle size, and now I call this one the MICRO system. I chose to use the mono iput (purchased a 3.5mm to 1/4 mono cord) for playback because I think it just sounds better. Sitting out on the patio with friends, pull this little gem out, plug in Pod, and you have got some REALLY nice sound. Bass is fairly weak, but what can really expect out of an 8" driver? Very Satisfied with the product.

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

Buy it! It's a great light weight amp for small gigs & practice; plenty loud. I also ran my 8 string lap steel through it too and it sounds good. There are two inputs. Negative is the plug falls out of the back slot easily. Overall a 9.5 rating.

Comments about Phonic MK15 Keyboard Amp:

I was not satisfied with the internal volume of my keyboard so this low-power amp was just what I needed to boost it to a sufficient level. Not intended for performing in a large room, but could be used for a monitor. Perfect for my practice sessions.
