A heavy-duty, precision tuner that's ideal in dark or bright settings.

The Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner offers professional tuning accuracy in a rugged heavy-duty die-cast housing. The Tru-Strobe is a perfect tuning tool for live performance, recording, and for adjusting intonation.

Using the Planet Waves Tru-Strobe musicians can fine-tune any stringed instrument using the most clear-cut method on the market: the strobe. The tuner offers true strobe accuracy—not a simulation—that ensures precision tuning.

An easy-to-read, circular LCD interface displays a moving graphic showing variance between the input frequency and perfect pitch. When the indicator's motion stops, your instrument is perfectly in tune to ±0.1 of a cent.

The versatile Tru-Strobe tuner boasts true bypass wiring with quiet switching, Buzz Feiten and drop-tuning presets, a wide calibration range, and the benefit of visibility both in full sunlight and on dark stages.

With its heavy-duty, die-cast design and convenient pedal housing, the new tuner is ideal for studio use or on the road—where accuracy competes with clutter, noise, and poor lighting. To that end, the readout is exceptionally bright compared to competing units. Its large back-lit LCD display is visible on dark stages and equally well in full sunlight.

The tuner also is graced with an extremely simple, user-friendly design to promote additional ease-of-tuning. Utilizing the Buzz Feiten Tuning System Offset for guitars to ensure tuning accuracy, Tru-Strobe also employs 6 de-tuning modes for players using drop-tunings. In addition, the tuner incorporates True Bypass wiring that will not affect the original instrument's tone.

Get professional tuning accuracy in a rugged, heavy-duty die-cast housing when you order today.

I really love this tuner. I want to get a Peterson eventually but this is the next best thing. I call it the working man's Peterson. If they fixed the battery issue it'd be the perfect live tuner.
This tuner is surprisingly very simplistic. Its not like the more expensive Peterson tuners that have tons of alternate tunings, sweetenings, and helpful tools for intonating. This is pretty straight forward with a few options for alternates, and some screen function settings. The big flaw with this tuner is that it doesn't fully shut off its still plugged in. This means if you're running on a battery you're gonna drain it much faster than you should. If you're hooked up to a pedal board all the time than you don't need to worry at all. The big plus is that this tuner is true bypass! No added noise!
This tuner does a great job, INSANELY accurate. If you're used to strobe tuners its a breeze, if not it takes some time to get used to.
Its cheaper than the "industry standard" pedal tuner (not to mention any names), which I own too, and by all means is still a great tuner. But there's a big difference between a chromatic and strobe tuner. Strobes come out of the gate sounding right. And aside from the battery drainage, this tuner will outperform a TU-2.

I bought two of these because they were so accurate. I could easily choose to intonate a guitar at the 12th fret, and then decide whether to alter that intonation for either a barre E or barre A chord at the 5th fret (or anywhere else).

Bought one for my primary pedalboard 2/12/10. Bought one for my backup pedalboard 3/2/11. As of 8/4/12, the primary display is failing. That's 29 months tops. I didn't abuse this item. Moved the secondary unit to the primary pedalboard, but now I know its life is limited, and I don't get to choose the gig it fails at.

Any, when I think of all the $100 Behringer gear existing that won't break, and some 30 year old stompboxes, it is frustrating. I hate loosing the accuracy most of all.

Had the unit even had a ten year lifespan I wouldn't be slagging it. What a shame.

I use it to tune at the begining of the set and inbetween. I also use it to click to mute when not playing. I'm sure I'll find more uses for as it appears there are many.

        Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Tuner

        By George Lester

        from Lebanon, OR

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

I find this pedal to be very responsive and useable in a live setting. No complaints here about that.
This tuner has some nice extra's but not an overabundance of them. It does plenty for me and keeps it simple, which is something I demand on my pedal board.
It's still new to me, but this pedal is built like a tank. It's suprising how heavy it is. Anyone who had a failure after 8 months would have been covered by the standard warrenty, so I don't understand why they'd be so unhappy. Time will tell but I'm not believing that this pedal is junk.
Best bang for the buck. Small footprint, solid enough to stay put, it's as accurate as the industry standard which costs a lot more then this pedal and takes up a lot more space on the board. Excellent viewing of display from any angle in most lighting conditions, the feature are right on the money.

Poorly made - display broke after a few months

        By Roderick Klinger

        from Undisclosed

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

Worked okay while it worked, but not worth your time or money.
About what I expect. The strobe circle thing is irritating, tho. Takes a while to adjust to.
Junk. The LCD display started deteriorating after a few months. I kept using the tuner. Now after 8 months it is unusable. I thought it was an internal connector so I opened the unit to find it's one integrated unit, so nothing I can fix. A wasted investment.
Since it broke so quickly, the value Is actually zero!

        Great Tuner

        By Tim-AIjhP

        from Antioch, IL

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

It is durable even though it doesn't look like it would be. It is the most accurate tuner I have ever had. It takes a little bit of time to get used to the interface but after 20 minutes, I was tuning without problems. My only grip is that it came with a dead battery so when I first got it, I thought the thing was broke until I replaced the battery.

        Garbage

        By Kris-KHxdr

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

First one - wouldn't power up. Replacement showed up a week later, the display did not function properly and one of the output jacks was nat even hooked up. Very dissapointing - going with the old stand-by Boss, which I should have done in the first place.

        True Strobe

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

I've been playing stages for 33 years. When my main strobe tuner stopped working, I thought I'd try one of these. Almost unuseable, when you need split second, or on the fly tuning. Its not able to sense a string fast enough, no matter what your touch is, or where your volume is set. Ok tuner for a hobbyist, but the main brand strobe is the standard, not this one.

        A Great Tuner

        By Vic C

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

I brought this tuner when I am playing at small places and hate to drag around a rack set up. I set this up alone and when in tune the guitar sings, I used the Buzz Fentien mode and was as accurate as a Conn Tuner

        Great Tuner for Indoor use

        By Bluesmoods

        from New York

Comments about Planet Waves Tru-Strobe Pedal Tuner:

Really superd Tuner. However, if you play Festivals and other out door type of events, You can't see it so you might as well not even plug it in! As a professional touring musician, I need to see the tuner no matter what the lighting condition is. This product fails in that category, but passes every other test magnificently.
