The clean channel delivers an array of tones from crystalline clean to light overdrive crunch, and the lead channel provides warm distortion and plenty of overdrive. This amp is perfect whether you’re recording, practicing, or gigging in a trio setup.
As with all PRS SE amps, the 20 features 2 channels with separate EQ, an effects loop, reverb, a 0.090 aluminum chassis, a high-end “on-on-on” selector switch, custom wound transformers, custom voiced speakers, and even custom knobs.

It sounds good thru different speaker cabinets, I've tried it with a greenback in an open back cab, with a weber 12" vintage in a closed back and with the PRS 2x12 SE. The eq allows you to dial in a good sound with each cab as well as to adjust for different guitars. I've tried it with a Fender Am Std Strat with Joe Barden PUs, a Godin LGXT, and a BC Rich Am ST with EMG active PUs. The master volume on each channel allows a wide range of sound with each guitar. On the clean channel the strats can be bright and chimey or thick and warm and the Godin can be clear and bright, edgy or it can growl. The lead channel goes from crunch to searing. The clean channel takes pedals very well, fuzz, wah, uni-vibe, etc. I've only tried the effects loop with a tc electronics g major and that is very nice. Being able to add tremolo, delay, and reverb after the preamp is great. I've been wanting to get an amp with an effects loop for some time. This amp is going to make me a fan of Doug Sewell.

I particularly like the bias jacks and adjustment on the chassis.
The build quality seems solid to me, although I haven't taken the head apart to inspect the circuit board. Quality is relative to price, obviously the PRS 2 channel amps are higher quality. I have no complaints about the quality given the price.
This is a great value. I didn't need another amp, but for the price and the features I couldn't pass it up.
