2 heads are better than one!

An amplifier head switcher specifically designed to allow you to switch between a solid-state and a tube amp while using the same cabinet. The Headbone employs a series of photocells to assure noise-free guitar-to-head switching and a series of high-cycle relays that switch between the 2 heads and the speaker. A digital programmable interrupt controller receives commands from the onboard footswitch or the Slingshot remote switching system and controls the transition between equipment to ensure proper amplifier loads are always maintained.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone Headbone TS Switcher for Tube to Solid State Amps:

Finally got this thing all rigged up after a trip up to the guitar store for some more cables... it uses 6 cables. Works as advertised but I don't totally trust it with my custom handbuilt built tube and SS heads, I'll probably get over that with the passage of time... they say it failproof, or at least as failproof as you can make it I guess.

This unit is rugged, amazingly heavy and easy to use.

One thing with the TS model is that it defaults to the tube head on startup, I wish there was a way to make it default to the SS head... oh well. This is not a concern with the VT and SS models because you can hook the prefered head into either channel but with the TS unit there is no choice of channel.

    Thanks Radius, great job.

Comments about Radial Engineering Tonebone Headbone TS Switcher for Tube to Solid State Amps:

I bought this because I was anxious to try running my Genz Benz El Diablo 100 Head with my Fender Cybertwin Digital head into my Genz Benz G-Flex 2 12 cab. Worked like a charm. I can't believe they made something that allows you to run a solid state head with a tube head and it works... Fantastic! One thing you want to watch is when you hook it up, the groundlift is on from the factory and ironically this created a hum for me out of the cabinet. When I turned it off though, it was quiet as could be. Now I have my Diablo clean and distortion in addition to my cybertwins clean channel, all of it's gains and crazy effects to jump in and out of with my genz benz. It is incredible and I don't have to deal with that digital "delay" between switching effects. I sing in my band too, and with having all that going on, it is as simple as I could wish it to be. Simply spectacular. Buy this if you want to carry one less cab and want the coolest rig in town.
