Comments about Randall Minion Series MR15R 15W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

Not sure why the other two reviewers did not like this amp; I think it has to do with the fact that they wanted a practice amp to be a studio or gigging amp. This is a great practice amp. I bought it to replace my Fender Frontman 15G because I wanted more gain and play metal and hard rock. I just could not get enough gain/distortion out of my Fender. I thought of replacing my pickups, but remembered that my guitar had high output pickups from the factory and if anything they would not clean up well. I'm playing a Dean Custom 350 Floyd Rose through this. I saw this on close out for an insane price, it's a Randall, and it has a reverb function. It has plenty of gain, cleans up really well too. The reverb function is very nice; especially when playing chords in clean mode but also helps in dirty mode as well. This was a discontinued restock model and when I was looking for a good practice amp that had reverb, I soon realized I was going to have to shell out around 5 or 6 times what I paid for this to get one with a separate reverb function. Lastly, this amp is about 20% smaller than the Fender it replaced. There is nothing wrong with the Fender Frontman; just depends on what you want to play and practice. I would highly reccommend this amp, but only for practice. This is not a studio or gigging amp; but I don't think that anyone would expect to get a studio/gigging quality amp in a 15W Solid State practice amp in this price range.

Comments about Randall Minion Series MR15R 15W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

Got one on the ridiculous deal of the day thing on Facebook - no shipping.

No, it doesn't sound like a more expensive amp....duh!

I use it for a practice amp and might possibly use it on the smallest solo gigs - going through my Pod. You can figure from the price the sound processing is minimal, but through a outside processor, not too bad for a thin Tele style sound.

Not bad - worth what I paid.

Comments about Randall Minion Series MR15R 15W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

this amp couldn't keep up with my acoustic guitar on it's clean channel. Using the overdrive made it loud enough, but I had to turn the treble almost all the way off.and the bass way up. 1 kind of ok sound. Not so sweet.
