I use to own this amp for about 3 years. My guitar tone was always complimented by other guitarists using much more expensive gear. Yes the distortion is great for metal but the big plus is the lush of beautiful chorus effect that can be used for sparkling clean acoustic to machine head type distortion. If I could just find one now in decent condition.

If you like the tone of the stuff on the radio nowadays, maybe you'll like this amp. If you're like me and don't listen to anything past 1996, you won't like it. Distortion may be okay with high output pickups, but for standard humbuckers, the distortion is horrible. Clean channel is sparkly, but still lacking.Yes, it's very loud. It cannot handle a decent amount of bass though (clean or distorted). Other quirks include a sizeable volume dropoff when you switch on the distortion and a footpedal that controls different things depending on where you plug it.My advice... Look at Peavey 5150/5150 II amps if you like heavier rock or Marshall AVT50 if you like classic rock.

This thing is awesome !!! Clean is sweet, Gain 1 is Awesome and Gain 2 Chorus and Reverb are perfect and there is an EQ for both channels also Chorus and Reverb has a control for each channel as well. Effects loop is GREAT and has level knob. has external outputs for 4 and 8 ohm as well as a level control. All in all a fantastic amp for any price level. Competes with my bandmates Marshall no prob!

I've owned my rh100sc for almost 3 years now and i love it. Absolutely unbeatable tone (for its price) and if you're starting out get one(if you like metal). You can also pair it up with a cab so its not a closed deal and you can switch the ohm output from 8 to 4 thereby boosting your max watt output from 100 to 150 for that extra kick in the mmmph. that'll do pig...that'll do.Big up, respect...check it.

    Surprisingly Good

    By Anonymous

I've been playing on tube amps like the Mesa Dual Recto and Marshall JCM900 for the better part of 15 yrs. And i have to say that this amp is the best sounding solid state amp i've ever heard! The distortion can hang with that of any tube amp out there and its less than 500 bucks. I would highly recomend it for a guitarist who's moving past his 15watt starter amp into larger more capable amps. Distortion is great, beautiful stereo chorus, celestion spkrs. Go for this amp it does not dissapoint!

    killer bucks

    By Calgary4ever

This amp is perfect for the metal head on a budget, I've had mine for a year now. The additional cab is nice, although it's already loud enough. Clean channel lacks a bit, but the distorted channel with both gains are killer. The contour button really gives versatility in the gain 2.

    This Amp Rocks!!

    By Alex-1aj-s

I played this amp in a music store, and man let me tell you, it was freaking loud! I've been looking for a bang for your buck amp and i found it with this amp. This amp is mainly for rock/metal but it can produce some very nice clean tones. it has an independent clean 3-band eq w/ stero chourus. The Drive channel has 2 modes, gain1 and gain2 . gain 1 is a more ac/dc style or kid rock. channel3 can do slayer, killswitch engage, deicide, morbid angel, you name it, it can produce the sound you want.

    Great tone and volume!

    By Matt-Nh6Oz

    from Castle Hayne, NC

I have searched for over a year for that perfect sound and this is it! I can't believe this is a solid state amp because the distortion is so smooth. The chorus is decent and the different tones you can achieve are wonderful. I paired this amp with a Randall 2x12 cab with V-30 celestions and my sound is finally professional! You can get anything from AC/DC to Rush to Godsmack with this amp. Blues sounds aren't too bad ( not as good as my 1980 Peavey Classic tube) but I am still pinching myself over this amp.Like the guy wrote previously , 4 ohms into a 2x12 cab and you got 150 watts...Bam!

    GREAT AMP

    By Gary87

Got mine the other day and it is nice. Very loud and sounds good loud. Its fairly quiet but gain2 is a little noisey so i got the boss noise suppressor and it killed all the noise. Clean channel is clean. Gain1 is nice for AC/DC type music and gain2 is great for rock, hardrock, and metal. Chorus and reverb sound good, clean boost adds alot of volume, and all are footswitchable. Big 5 button footswitch is spaced pretty wide so you dont have to worry about hitting other buttons. Also has Celestions. All that for under *** bucks! GO ON! BUY IT!!!

This is amp is probably the best amp i ever played. It has the best sounding Distortion on any combo amp and the clean station is amazing. If you're in the market for a great amp that you can use to fool around with or to play gigs this is the amp for you.
