Comments about Randall Thrasher 212 Oversized 200W Ported 2x12 Angled Cabinet:
I bought a Randall rg1503 head to nail the heavy and really crunchy Dimebag distortion and was in need of a new cab for a not so expensive price, so I found this one and I was very exited to receive it, this cab just looks mean and big, I had always prefered the V30 speakers over anything but I wanted to give these a try, so when I got it I loved the look of it but when I hooked everything up it looked awesome but when I turned on the amp I had left it with the same settings I had the amp setup before with a different cab with different speakers (not the V30's) and the worst treble sound you could ever imagine came out and was like over the limit treble so I sat there and tweaked the amp along with a 10 band EQ equalizer for 2 days straight to get the Dimebag tone Ive always wanted and I got it to sound its best which sounded good but some how the speakers still delivered too much mids and treble, not the way I imagined, I got to say I really do not like the Celestion G12H-100 speakers, yes they are very loud speakers but their tone do not satisfy me at all. I ordered a Mesa Boogie 2x12 rectifier cab with v30's a day after this cab came in and when I got that in 2 days later I compared both of them with the same settings and you could totally hear the V30's just blew the g12's out the door, so Ive retured this cab and keeped the mesa boogie cab which nails the tone I was looking for much more, I hooked them both up together and these 2 spealers together sound ok but I prefer 2 pairs of v30's instead, Dimebag used the v30 speakers in his Randall cabs and some series of Randall Speaker, this cab could have been/sounded so much better if it came with the celestion v30's.
