I never thought I could have too much amp but that is the only way I could explain my feelings for this. I originally had planned on getting a RX120RH but had got this for a heck of a deal and I'm not disappointed (entirely). I would have given it 3 stars for the clean channel but really, people looking at this amp are interested in playing metal and I'd imagine they would opt for something a bit more conventional for their cleans. With that out of the way, this amp slays... The 3 band eq works great on its own but the mid-frequency knob changes the whole character of the amp. Vintage hair metal to dime can be easily dialed in. I called the person who I bought it from a pansy for claiming to not have turned it up past 3 and I don't think anyone in their right mind would have a need for this much wattage. I will say it has less gain than what you would expect from an RG series but none the less a great tone. Hard to find much information on these amps and even harder to find a used one but definitely pick one up if you find it in your area.

I bought this amp as an upgrade up from an Ibanez TB 100, man, what a freaking upgrade! I have owned this head for a year running it through a b-52 LG cab. It is a really nice head that will give you some good and heavy distortions, and alright cleans. It isnt quite the most gainy/heavy distortion, but it definately gets the job done with some room to spare. It's an extremely rugged amp. Right now I am looking for an amp with a bit of a heavier sound because I play the heavist Metalcore/Hardcore around. Im trying to upgrade to a tube. This Randall is an awesome amp if you cant afford a mesa/boogie. Im not even going to talk about Marshall, because they cost 1500 bucks TOO MUCH and they dont even sound that heavy.
Everyone whines how marshall is the best and crap like that but in reality, marshall only goes loud...they dont sound that great. But this head, is the freaking man. Its 300 watts of pure power, I have never needed to turn it up past 1/4. And even better is that it sounds amazing. It's distortion channel is the best I've ever heard. Better than and pedal and any marshall you can ever buy. It is the heaviest distortion you could ever want...and if you dont want a heavy distortion, it's clean channel, when used right, makes an amazing crunch. It puts out a shat loud of low end when you want it...and powerful solo sounding distortion too, but not annoying. It beats any marshall in pretty much every category and it costs 1/2 the price. It doesn't waste your time with shatty effects...if you want effects, buy a pedal. This head is best used with a 400 watt b-52 cab...which is also extremely good quality. It's everything you could ever need. If you have any questions about it, e-mail me...Starfoxx4@comcast.net
I love the sound of this amp, but honestly it doesn't boast alot of features. For me, that's perfect though. I use the Boss GT-6 Effects processor with it and can get any sound I desire. Without effects you basically get clean a distorted, with little in between. While this may sound bad, what it lacks in these features it more than makes up for this with amazing power. I love this amp.
