Comments about Red Witch Empress Analog Chorus-Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:
This is the best chorus pedal I could find for my board by leaps and bounds above all others I tried, and I spent hours playing through just about every standard chorus pedal out there. The analog sound is smooth, warm, and clean without being hi-fi. The chorus is the stronger of the two effects, but if you spend enough time tweaking the vibrato you can get it to add a nice character to your tones. It does subtle effects very, very well, but goes crazy if you want it for that.
The features are fantastic, including the internal switch that gives you a bit of boosted output, and a warmer tone. The mix knob works well, but you will notice that if you drop the mix past 12o'clock that you will experience a slight volume drop. Depth isn't as deep as many chorus pedals, but the voice knob more than compensates for this. When switched to chorus the knob sweeps the delay through bass, mid, and treble settings, getting almost a flange in the bass/mid ranges, but when you hit about 1-2o'clock it begins to step into a warbly tri-chorus sound. Every little turn of the voice knob makes a noticeable difference, and is very interactive with the depth and rate knobs as well. On vibe this knob shifts pitch by about a half step.
The pedal also contains a "bright" switch that brings out a little more high end bite, noticably so on the chorus setting. The pulsing LED that marks your rate is large and ruby red, and really compliments the overall look of the red/white empress.
Downsides: the pedal will bring up some hiss as you sweep the mix/voice to the higher end of their spectra, I use an ISP Decimator noise suppressor, and it takes care of this just fine. The stereo is not true stereo, but rather runs a wet signal through one output, and a dry through the other - the chorus effect is then created in the space between the amps, which is an interesting idea, but again, don't be fooled if you think you're getting true stereo outs. Finally, this pedal did not do well in my effects loop. I play a fantastic Blackstar HT40, and have a Flashback x4 in its effects loop, which works fine. For whatever reason, the chorus, whether I placed it before or after the delay, would break up easily into a slightly distorted signal, it sound great in front of the amp though.
Also, the price can be a bit steep, but if you are looking for what I would consider to be the best analog (and overall) chorus sound out there, it will be worth it. I tried it knowing I wouldn't be able to afford it, but wanted to compare the other pedals to it as a standard, and they just so happened to have it on sale for just over half the usual price! I now realize it is such a great chorus that I would go back and pay full price gladly if I had to. If you have the $$$, and are in the market for a chorus/vib that will stay on your board, pick up the RW Empress. It really will add a depth of character to your tone.

Comments about Red Witch Empress Analog Chorus-Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have owned three of these over time and every one had an input jack that would ground out. If you buy one and get no sound, try pulling the plug out a little. Problem is when they tighten the jack in it turns and grounds out on the box. Easy to fix but for [$] someone. In assembly should pay attention!
Comments about Red Witch Empress Analog Chorus-Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal:
Beautiful warm analog Vibe & Chorus sound in a box! Vibe is not like exactly Uni-Vibe but it's unique. Have to know about Voice control which is truely unique, it's Delay time control for Chorus and also Pitch control for Vibe. It will give huge effect on sound and wide range tonal character. This control has to be set before you play since it's scratch when adjust. This unit also have internal input mod switch which can select Normal or Boosted. LED pulse help to set speed which is very cool also new vintage white case is better than prior chrome case. This unit isn't actual Stereo since has no stereo effect but Dry and effect out like many other Chorus units. Bit expensive but deserve to put in your chain.
