The Rivera Chubster is a combo tube amp with 40W of EL34 power, 5 12AX7 preamp tubes, and a Celestion G12L-55 rear-mounted speaker housed in an extra deep open-back enclosure. The Chubster amp delivers rich and fat low end, and spongy sweet mids and highs for an overall pleasing tone.
Like most Rivera amplifiers, this 1x12 version has features that include 2 fully independent preamp channels, each with its own distinct voicing (British and American), and footswitchable boosts delivering 4 easy-to-dial-up sounds, preamp/power amp patch loop, and line out. This Rivera amp sounds much bigger than its size and is affordably priced.

Rivera amps are well made, but if you need service you will have to send the amp back to Rivera as they have NO service contracts with anyone, at your expense! Also all tube amp are only as good as the tubes in them like everyone else Rivera uses whats cheapest at the time!

It's a GREAT amp and the description doesn't begin to do it justice. You can dial in about any tone you could want and the footswitch adds the versatility you need on the fly - switch between channels and add boost or "ninja" (insane gain) my only complaint is the inability to control the reverb with the footswitch. High quality components & hand built, these Rivera amps are a well kept secret - But be warned - this thing is LOUD. I thought I could use it for studio work. but no dice without an isolation chamber. My best guess is that this one will outlast me and still make it's next owner happy but like any really well built amp, it's HEAVY when you start schlepping it around. If you're looking for boutique quality and performance at a reasonable price, this is it. I've owned and played thru a lot of amps, and this one is a real sweetheart.
