The Rivera SilentSister speaker cab solves the major faults that plague most isolation cabinets, eliminating their distorted sound, nonlinear frequency response, and short lifespan. Rivera devised a way to relieve iso cabs' air pressure issue by building an air labyrinth into the rear of the SilentSister cabinet. This labor-intensive solution substantially attenuates the sound level while relieving the sealed compartment air pressure drawbacks. Also, each of the angles of the panels inside of the SilentSister are designed to relieve standing waves and reflections.

The bottom line is that the SilentSister delivers fabulous tone, like having a great sounding speaker cabinet in free air, with the advantage of high attenuation of external sound pressure levels, and easy microphone placement.

Rivera SilentSister guitar speakers come standard with 2 pre-wired microphone goosenecks that have a panel fitted with two Neutrik XLR connectors on the back of the cabinet for easy signal connection. It comes with a Celestion G12T-75 speaker (8 ohm) as standard, and it is pre-wired into a jack panel at the back of the cabinet as well. Ruggedly built with hardwood-core plywood and finished in black Nyflex carpet for years of road abuse. Equipped with casters.

Perfect for home and studio recording, churches, pubs, nightclubs and cafés—or anywhere you need to record or reduce the on-stage level through the PA system.

Works as described

from Toronto, Canada

Comments about Rivera SilentSister 1x12 Guitar Isolation Speaker Cabinet:

With the above mentioned blankets placed under the unit, this thing is pretty quiet. You probably wouldn't want to crank your amp at 2am with your girlfriend sleeping in the next room, but if you're in the basement, no one will hear you upstairs.
If it weren't for the lower frequencies eminating from the unit onto the floor and walls, this thing would be close to silent. To correct that, though, just put blankets underneath and make sure nothing's touching the walls.
Built tough. Looks good. Does not sound boxy like other isolation cabs, and won't damage your speakers.
Rather expensive for what it does, but it seems like there's a lot of work behind it.

Silent Sister deserves many props for what is does

from New England

Comments about Rivera SilentSister 1x12 Guitar Isolation Speaker Cabinet:

I have had my Silent Sister for days, but it has already been a tremendous help. Those of you interested in this product know the specs, but be forewarned -- this will not automatically alleviate sound issues. For starters, the Silent Sister is far from silent. It does attenuate the sound level greatly, but not totally. With my Tiny Terror blasting I can hear the higher frequencies of the EL84s leaking through. With my more powerful Mesa Roadster I get a lot of rumbling from all the low-midrange associated with that amp. This is especially apparant when doing palm mutes. All in all, the decibals are dropped to a manageable level, while maintaining a very open sound. I couldn't be happier. One thing future buyers should contemplate would be to buy a Gramma Pad to alleviate the bass frequencies that shake nearby objects with more powerful amps. All in all, I love my Silent Sister.

Not satisfied

from Akron, OH

Comments about Rivera SilentSister 1x12 Guitar Isolation Speaker Cabinet:

I was excited to get this cab so I can record in my apartment. I'm not happy with the sound I'm getting. Even though they claim to have solved all the issues with an isolation cabinet it does not come close to sounding like when I mic up a regular 1x12 or 2x12. Overall it seems well built but on certain notes the hardware on the cab or the cabinet itself vibrates and buzzes way loud. I am returning it for my money back. For half the price I may have been able to make it work for scratch guitar tracks in my home studio but absolutely not at this price it does not live up to expectations. Sorry Rivera.
