This pedalboard is good for an occasional traveling musician. I would feel okay traveling with this case. It has nice butterfly locks and plenty of padding. My only complaint is that when you take the lid off, the border around the pedalboard is just as deep as the lid. You kind of have to step over the border to select your pedal. I think it can get tricky. in other words, it's kind of bulky. Other than that, I would recommend this for the occasinal traveling musician or hobbyist.

I never had any problems with the "thin aluminum." Sure mine has dings and dents in it, but I've used it for two years and none of my pedals have been damaged. One thing that annoyed me is that the lip on bottom of the pedalboard (where your pedals lay) is too high. The beginning and end of my effects loop have to be at least 3-4 inches away from the edges for the 1/4" to fit without being bent. I guess the easy alternative would be just to buy some right angle cables, but I already forked out $100 between my Monster Cables before I got the board. That said, this is the cheapest board I've found that includes a hardshell case. But if I could do it again, I'd probably get a Road Rage or LYT pedalboard

Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
A bit heavy. The rim of the base is about 1/2 inch too high. Could use an egg crate pad twice as thick to hold the pedals more securely. However, these issues are minor and pretty easy to adapt to. It is pretty cheap to add extra foam too. Glad I bought it.

Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I think this is an excellent piece of accesorie for your pedals, normally the pedaltrain would be the normal pick por a guitarrist, but after i bought the roadrunner i ended up very happy, works perfectly and it looks good too, i really recomend it.

Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I have had this pedal board for years, and it has withstood a lot. I have brought it to many shows and withstood abuse at college from roommates borrowing it and people stepping on it. It is pretty beat up, however I bought this so that way the board would be beat up, not my pedals. I love this product, and am planning on buying another one to store my bass pedals in as I have one now for my guitar pedals.
Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I have the large one and the aluminum sheet metal is very thin(yes like soda can), The aluminum edges/corners are good. I actually drilled out the pop-rivits and used the thin aluminum as a templete and cut out galvanize steel sheet metal(the stuff they make duct work with) and them put it back together. It's SUPER strong now. I like projects but the ones I pick... not get stuck with. Save your money and buy something that isn't flimsy
Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I got the large board and when it arrived it had dents and bends all over it. The aluminum that it is made from is thin like a coke can. These are very cheaply made and not a good product.
Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I have read a LOT of reviews about how 'low quality' it is, but I must have gotten a good one or something. First things first: it's good quality. It is sturdy, has been sturdy for almost a year since I got it. I took it on tour with me to Cali and back, from Seattle. Has been really nice, keeps my pedals exactly how I left them last, and is sure as hell better than setting all of them (a volume, a wah, a distortion, an overdrive, and a multi-effects) up by hand.
Comments about Road Runner Effects Pedalboard:
I bought the smaller version of this case a few months ago to upgrade from a smaller homemade board that I was bringing to gigs in an old backpack. This looked like the perfect solution. It was the right size for the handful of pedals I use and it looks sharp. The only problem I've had with this case is that it's simply too flimsy for consistent use. After one 45-minute show using this board the side facing me was completely bent. I couldn't replace the lid until I manually bent it back into shape. It's only gotten worse with every show. I'm not a heavy pedal user, I use them primarily for solos so the bending isn't from rough use - the sides are just not strong enough. As a temporary solution, this case is good enough but if you're going to use this case/board several times a week (or even once a week) for a longterm you'd be better off saving your money and getting something sturdier.
