I bought this pedal because, frankly, it's cheap. When it arrived, it took me two weeks to muster up the courage to use it. As with most effects, you get what you pay for. However, this pedal gave me the phasing for my bass that I wanted. It even cleaned up the signal when I ran it through an old combo amp I have. It has a very clean tone. I'm having to adjust for the overall volume boost I get with it, however. The features are a little lacking, and I could really use a little more clarity in the definition of each knob and its purpose, but overall, I'm glad I bought the pedal and will continue to use it!
I like this pedal because it gives it a very nice wet phase. It almost sounds like some kind of liquid that's dripping. I've have it for about 6 months and it hasn't let me down. I keep it low because it's got such a nice phase to it. Turn it up all the way and you get a cool spacey effect. This is a good pedal, and I'll be looking into other Rocktek products.
I have had plenty of cheap pedals throughout my past but never one like this with such great quality. Most cheap fx pedals don't have much adjustability and their fx are so thick that it drowns everything out. Not this. This you can get the sound at a real subtle level or change settings to get the real thick sound. Very versatile! You can't even find used pedals this cheap anywhere.
This thing is realy realy bad. You can barely use it with any other effects(except mabey a flange toback it up). Distortion is completely out of the question with this thing. The construction is almost as weak as it's phaseing capabilitys. Knowing what I know now, I would not buy this pedal in 1 million years.
Granted, this pedal is not made for heavy use live. And yes, I am afraid I'm going to break it everytime I step on it. But aside from that, it functions as well as most phaser pedals. The sound is fine, and you can use it with distortion, despite what other reviews say. It does take some tweaking to get any phaser sounding the way you want it. The controls you get here are standard of any phaser. It's a good sounding pedal overall. I've used it on my practice rig for about 6 months now, and it's held up so far. At this price, just get a backup.
