Okay for Beginners

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I don't have an enormous amount of experience but I can tell you, this isn't really the best thing to start on. Just a tip, if you're a beginner and really want to play guitar and don't care about quality hear this: I was the same as you, don't do it. Really, just save up for something good even if it takes longer. I'm savin' for a Gibson Les Paul and a Marshal Slant Half Stack. Really you'd be making a mistake. I own it and I really wish I would have waited. It sounds muddy for what ever your doing and even when you're not playing it sounds like you're in a jet-plane. Really, and even though your reading this and think: bad shmadd "Thats only one review." Really listen to what I'm saying, if you don't believe me and really just think I'm doing something wrong, just try it at a music store. You'll thank me!

Good amp.

this amp is a great first/recording amp. I have a marshall stack and a lot of times i still prefer to use this for recording because the distortion sounds so good. Built in spring reverb is a BIG BIG plus.I reccomend this amp to anyone.

Cool in pairs

By telecast2000

I own 2 used as a pair. They are part of a home entertainment center I have set up in my livingroom. Once set up, you need not touch them again only to switch gain off and on (a nipple would be great)hence the 6 on features. I love em and my friends do too. When I set ALL knobs the same on both amps, I'm amazed at how well they define and differentiate the tone and character of different guitars in side by side comparisons. Although a good value; I do experience a scratchy gain swith from the newest of the two(hence the 6 on Quality), Gotta wiggle it a little sometimes and it comes out of it. It's a loud 20 watts, and a good buy through Musicians Friend.

good for practice

this is a good practice amp but the only problem with it is that you cant screw with it at all or else the overdrive will sound like crap when your not playing. but when you are playing it is a great amp for just practicing and it has good distortion for its size. so if your looking for a good amp that has a good sound and you just want it for practice than this is a good amp.

This is a good practice amp. Nice overdrive for it's size. Does everything a 20w amp should do. Overall does exactly what you pay for. Nothing more nothing less.

A decent little amp for the money!!

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I bought this amp a little over 6 months ago as a practice amp. It has great Distortion and Reverb for the money and is is pretty load for a 20Watt. The overdrive can be a little too much for some styles of music as it still rounds really heavy even when turned down, sounds alot cleaner through headphones tho. It is also a great little recording amp for this reason. Overall i would recommend this amp for its sheer volume and distortion, and features for the money. Only bad points are reliablilty and I find its only really suited to heavier sounding guitar sounds.

Good amp for the price, no frills

By Chris-zDuW_

from Oklahoma City, OK

Just got the amp. The overdrive is great, and pumps out quite a lot of gain for the small compact size. Clean sounds really good as well, the feature cleans your sound and removes some of the buzz and hums that other amps make. Over all you can't go wrong here. It is a good value, and would be perfect for the first time guitarist. Nice and compact unit. 8 out of 10
