This thing is just as good as the Boss DD-3 to me. Five controls of the this pedal 1.level of the delay effect,2. the gain of the delay effect,3. length of delay, 4. a button if you want short or long delay, and of course 5. on/off switch. The delay can get pretty short so that it sounds like two guitars playing and it can get pretty long too, I haven't measured how long. If you play around with the controls you can get some pretty cool sounds like the kind on the Boss DD-20sound demos. Good Quality, nice and sturdy. I gave it a 9 for features because it dosen't have a tap tempo and stero out but I don't use that stuff anyway but that matters to some players so I had to let you know. Shoots.

I bought this to see if the positive reviews posted for this pedal were really correct for such an affordable digital delay pedal. My first experience running it through a Traynor 30 watt I was able to get some nice 50s rock guitar through both a Fender strat and Gibson ES-335 w/ Hums. After a couple of weeks the indicator light died. I put it away for a few months and when I got it out to dink-around with it some more it really was sounding awful. I am pretty careful with all my equipment and can't imagine it was dropped. The pedal is pretty much useless now and I will probably open it up to see if I can find the source of the troubles. Anyway, I hate to post less than positive reviews but this one did not live up to expectations on any level. I may have just received a lemon and I might be able to find a wiring or other easy fix when I pop it open.

My Favorite Pedal

By Scott Cash

from Undisclosed

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I hate complicated pedals. I think you can get a better sound when you don't complicate things, and this pedal does just that.
I believe that less is more. I don't like effects with more than three knobs, so this thing is perfect. All the basic controls for delay are there and it's very easy to use.
It's a very sturdy pedal.
Fairly-priced for how much you can do with it and how easy it is to use.

This pedal is truely a great pedal

By AlexAdams

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I own this pedal and have owned this pedal for almost 2 years now and I have had not one single issue with it. This is a great delay pedal the short timer is the main setting I use and I would compare this pedal to any other expensive delay pedal. I play mostly indie music like Death cab, broken social scene, coldplay in that sort of sounding area and this pedal is used in every single one of my songs. Best pedal I have hands down and for the price its simply a steal. a definite must buy.

Rocktron Short timer great for slap back!

By Andrew Himmler

from Las Vegas, NV

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I've used this green machine at hundreds of shows, it has worked every time and does exactly what I want it to do. I only use it for one slap back setting but you can get a multitude of sounds out of it. If you're looking for the perfect rockabilly slap back you can spend hundreds on tape echo machines or just a few dollars on this thing. There is a difference in sound quality but the difference in price makes it extremely worth it. If you're looking for slap back delay pick up this pedal!

pretty descent pedal

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

this thing does a good job. i had mine for about 3 years and its just now starting to go. i got a lot of miles out of it. it was my "always on" pedal. my only thing is its a little bulky. but if youre shopping around a for your first delay pedal, you cant go wrong with this. but if you want to spend some well spent money, get the MXR carbon copy! it is waaaaaay better than the BOSS DD-7!

Overlooked delay pedal

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I think this pedal is overlooked. It is great for many styles, but since it is self labeled as rockabilly/surf, I think rock guitar people shy away. It adjusts to many different styles of delay and works great. I have had three of them, not because they broke, but I always think I can find something I like better, which I don't. This one is a keeper if you can get it cheap.

Cheap and effective.

By Andrew Himmler-sEjQI

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I bought this thing about a year ago, it was kind of a shot in the dark, I wanted nice slap back without dishing out a lot of money, and my wish came true. This thing has been with me all over the US and has served me well. If it breaks or is lost I will surely buy another. For rockabilly music that tends to have a nice slap back, the raw value of this pedal doesn't get much better.

Great Deal

By Great Guitar-oSyR4

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I bought the Short Timer to slightly color my sound for leads. I find it perfect. It is simple and does exactly what I wanted it to do. I play in a cover band and we do everything from heavy metal to country and this pedal suits them all. Go for it!

It's dead now

By Chuckd76

from Collinwood

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I had this for less than a year. One day I plug in and step on it and my sound doesn't change. Twist knobs, unplug, power off/on and no change in sound. Now this pedal is just a super bright, blue pedal board light. Don't buy, save up for better.

good effect, but cheaply made

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

Owned this for about six months and ended up tossing in the garbage. A component came loose on the inside, and rattled around for a while. Then one day I plugged it in, it smoked (!) and instantly died. Took it to a tech who opened it up, and then told me "they couldn't have made this any cheaper. the electronics are garbage." He also couldn't have resealed the box, because the jacks slide in as you close the end, and you have to have machine like precision, or you'll just bend or break the leads. A real piece of junk - made to be disposable.

I can't say enough good things about this pedal.

By Hawk Season

from Greenville, NC

Comments about Rocktron Short Timer Retro Delay Stomp Box:

I play loud, rough, and often, and this has been the most frequently used pedal in my arsenal for several years. I can't hurt it, no matter how hard I stomp. It's great for vocal effects, too. I've used it for vocal delay (often layered with a second delay) on some of my recordings and it sounds great. This pedal will do anything from post rock style high regeneration long delay waves to short, tremolo-esque, psychedelic snap. Get it.
