Featuring 128 sounds divided into 64 factory and 64 user programmable presets, the compact Utopia B100 pedal has a wide variety of effects, including wah, phaser, compressor, chorus, and flanger. 4 channels of tone: Clean, Dist1, Dist2, and Dist3. Other features include Rocktron's Hush noise reduction, tube emulation, and a "speaker exciter." While it's not a perfect world, this floor processor may allow bass players a regular visit to paradise on stage or in the studio.

The rocktron utopia b100 is a different, but cool sounding bass multi-effects processor. what makes it different from other multi-effects processors is that it has preamp channels rather than amp models and distortion pedals models. it's got four preamp channels. it's got one clean channel that does let you select two different clean sounds so you'd be getting two clean channels for the price of one. and has three distortion channels. each distortion channel has a different sound. even though I find the distortion channels to be a little rough and metallic sounding. other than that, it's got great sounding modulation effects. I personally like the chorus effect. it sounds smooth and lushful. it also has some reverbs and delay effects. for some reason, rocktron put a bunch of those effects on many patches on this multi-effects processor, but you can easily turn them off. it also has a compressor that can add some sustain to your sound. especially if you use one of the distortion channels. it's got rocktron's famous hush noise reduction system built in, and it's got a deep and versatile wah effect. unfortunately it's not a toe-tap wah. you have to program it on a patch in order to activate it. it's kind of a bummer, but that's okay. I don't use wah effects that much. other than that, it's fully programmable, it's remarkably easy to use and it's built like a tank. if bass synth and envelope filters is your thing, look some where else. this is probably not for you. but if distortions and modultation effects is your thing, you'll like this multi-effects processor. if you're looking for something different, this multi-effects processor is worth checking out. but if you like bass distortions that sounds smooth and heavy, korg "toneworks", boss, zoom, and line 6 processors would be a good choice for that.

I needed a replacement bass effects processor in a pinch for a gig in Monterey but didn't want to waste a ton on spare equipment...the replacement is still in use and took the top spot.The unit is about the most solid thing out there. It travels well due to sturdy construction and metal casing. The modeling provides some amazing flexability and layered shaping to create tightly compressed slap with cutting punch or elongated mellow fretless tones to carry a ballad. Not to mention the the cool funk wah and distortion from out of the box presets. Editing allows an easy regroup of tones to follow a setlist because the one drawback is the speed/ease of moving through multiple sounds without looking like Michael Flatley doing a jig. Not enough to steer me away from this pedal though. The pedal can be taylored to volume function or wet mix control which can keep help overcome slower reactions form the soundboard in live applications. The mute function keeps tuning from becoming a distraction to. For the money, it's a great unit and noise gate can be layered in to eliminate hiss. Highly recommended - I don't give 5 stars away like candy, but this one is pretty darn close.

Great unit especialy for the price and it puts all the controls at your feet. For the price of one good pedal you get everything you need, all the effects are nice and clean. Great qualit, the distortion settings are fun to play with. If you tweek it just right you can get a decent Billy Shehan sound but I also run through an ampeg svt4rpro once again. You also have plenty of room for your own presets cant believe how good this thing sounds it rivals a lot of the more expensive effects I have had.
