The Rocktron Utopia G200 is a professional multi effects guitar system that delivers incredible tone and awesome sounding effects. Rocktron has loaded the Utopia G200 with 64 factory preset sounds and 64 user presets for a total of 128 presets. Everything you need to create your own signature sound has been included in the G200: 4 totally usable channels, 4-band EQ, and full bandwidth effects give you the tools to create awesome high-quality tones that will define and complement your individual playing style.
The Utopia G200 guitar system is easy to use and operate. Fully programmable,it features an easy-to-read Cool Blue LCD Display, (no cryptic tables to decipher or matrix-LED crossword puzzles — just plain easy). Not merely a plastic toy, it is built with a rugged metal chassis and roadworthy professional-grade expression control pedal made from metal!
Channel selections deliver awesome tones (Clean, Texas, British and Mega). Pre-effects include wah, phaser, compressor. Post effects include chorus, flanger, pitch shift, tremolo, delay and reverb. You also get Rocktron exclusives like a state-of-the-art Speaker Simulator (for excellent recording), Variac (tube sag emulation) and HUSH noise reduction.

The Utopia G200 provides USB audio recording and playback connectivity, built-in tuner, glow in the dark pedalboard markings, illuminated footswitches, MIDI in and MIDI out/thru, assignable effect on/off, tap delay note quantization (1/16, 1/8, triplet, 1/4, 1/2 and whole).
It also provides Up/Down preset Bank by 3 with 3 instant recall buttons and a 2nd mode (1 assignable effect on/off footswitch, 1 mute/tuner footswitch, 1 tap delay footswitch when the 2nd mode is active).

I,ve been playing 20+ years and have had a ton of gear. I've found Rocktron to be the best gear around. I've had prophesy, intellifex, Chameleon, voodu valve, velocity 120, and 2 velocity 100's. All great gear. Now I tried this utopia 200 just for easy portability. First time I powered it up the preset select control would skip presets and the screen would get all glitchy. Turned it of and back on and it was working fine. Ok connected sterio outputs to Velocity 100 and changed global setting to sterio. Presets set to 127 max volume. With the velocity turned all the way up the output was a little louder than a average TV's volume. May be defective. After 1 hour of messing with this thing it went back in the box and returned. I'll stick with my Voodu valve.

I have just used the G200 at a rehearsal, a 3 hour club gig and an out door concert. Unpacking the G200... all perfect but I am a product graphic designer and the back label caught my eye. The label was a bit too long and buckled-in from the edge. The adhesive did not hold. I can flatten it down, but it pops back up. No biggie.Just to me.The unit put my Boss ME50 to shame. It just sounds that much better. The distortions are better, all the modulation effects are much more pronounced. Being able to adjust the amount of delay or chorus in real-time to a patch is nice. I have the Utopia plugged into 2 Marshall half stacks in stereo. amp settings- basically clean- preamp about 5 or 6.Great depth of effects! I found a bank of patches for my clean chorused sounds, crunch and a high gain lead sound that I could increase the depth of the delay on. At the rehearsal, I sent a simulated output to a mixer and a full range output to my amp- worked well. I have yet to record with it or use the USB output. Now for the only slightly negative- I found the tuner a bit hard to read- small letters. seemed to only react at the 12 fret harmonic or other harmonic positions. I'd rather have a larger solid readout.The Utopia appearance in the club or concert stage was excellant. The face plate glows and is easily read. And these are the greatest foot switches- they are like small rubber-like buttons.There is no big clicking sound. Just a nice smooth switch... great!Once I've used it in the studio, I'll write a 2nd review.John MasinoThe Utopia G200 ROCKS!
