Not to keep repeating myself ad nauseum, but I searched for weeks before I finally bought the Rocktron. Guys my age don't do impulse buying; that's a game for teenage wannabe rock stars, and others who are legends in their own minds. IF you are looking for a good starter amp that provides great quality, great sound, and is very portable, the Rocktron is it. Don't be afraid because you may not have heard of the name; believe it or not, at one time, Marshall and Fender were both unknowns too. Everthing starts somewhere, and I think Rocktron could become a big thing one day. I notice that they don't really have much in the way of huge amplifiers, but from these small ones, I think perhaps they should.
Final note: The amp itself does have a coupe of "speaker out" jacks in the back. I presume this means it can push one or more external speakers, though to be honest I have not as of yet tried this feature, nor do I actually need to. The twin 8" "special design" drivers it contains are perfectly adequate for my modest needs, but I am sure there are some of you kids out there will want to put hairs on your chest by killing your neighbors during the wee hours. You'd know better than I, but I've seen the type. I suppsose if one must drive the neighbors crazy, it's better to do so with loud music than by failing to shower at least once a week. (I mention only for the benefit of those trying in vain to revive the grunge thing...)
I've been playing guitar now for about 39 years, and I tend to gravitate towards the Fender brand, althought I've owned quite a few others. But I am no rock star, wannabe or otherwise; I'm merely a consumer and hobbiest in search of better value.
This amp, the V50D Velocity guitar amp, is the best value I've found in a long while. The flexibility of the sound possibilities is equal to all of the amps in the much higher price ranges, and the sound effects are really quite good. The clean channel is exceptionally crisp, yet warm, rivaling and even surpassing any tube amp. The most amazing thing is that this amp, which is physically pretty small, manages to sound HUGE. The loudness is more than adequate. While it's not a Marshall stack, it's most definitely up to any gig in a small venue, and certainly more than excellent for my family rec room.
The cabinet is a very sturdy construct with metal corner reinforcements and smoothly operating controls. The "Rocktron" LED logo on the front is awesome to look at, a much flashier name plate than to those I am accustomed.
Fact: My guitar is really cheap. You'd be surprised. I got it off of Ebay, put a couple of DiMarzio pickups on it, bought a generic Les Paul-type case from Musician's Friend, With this amp, it sounds like a million bucks.
You know, like many of you, I was "sold" on certain brands of guitars being "the best". Today, I am no longer certain that the old wisdom is or was really all that smart. Because side-by-side with a Gibson Les Paul, I cannot tell the difference in sound. The Gibson plays a little smoother, but then it was over $3000, whereas my Ebay special was barely $140, and less than $300 by the time all modifications were complete. The Ebay special does not have gold plating, that is true. But that crap rubs off anyway, so who cares? The point is, with this amp, it's ALL good. Do I have a "tin ear"? No. In fact, I've played in a chamber orchestra before. Not a guitar, of course. But strings and brass, yes. My ear is far more tuned than you might imagine.
So, in my view, quality here can be matched, but not beaten.
Overall, the value this little amp provides is very near the top. If I had a wish that would make it perfect, I think slightly bigger speakers (10" or 12") might be marginally better, but then again it might dull the bright tone too. On that, I really don't know; I am not an engineer. Like I said, volume and sound are both excellent. It might be just a man thing, you know, bigger is better.

This is not a metal amp, by any means. The bottom-end is fairly transparent, and the distortion is only good for those interested in AC/DC, Zeppelin, April Wine, etc. There's not a thing wrong with the sounds of these bands, but as those of us who play metal know, we need more power. The cleans are fairly weak; not at all warm or crystal clear. On the plus side, I did enjoy the effects. The chorus is surprisingly good, and the delay impressed me. For those of you who rely on effects, you may need more options, but for those of us who throw them in every once in a while, they are more than fine. Also, this is one of the loudest amps in it's class that I have played. The loudest I could go without my ear plugs was about 4. With my ear plugs in, and the amp cranked to 9-ish, I was impressed that she maintained the exact same sound as when she was on two or three. If you don't play anything even remotely heavy or clean, and just need a practice amp with good volume and decent chunk, you will be more than happy.

Comments about Rocktron V50D Velocity 50W Guitar Combo Amp:
I received this amp yesterday. I literaly took it out off the box and started playing. The sound was just what I'd been searching for. I play a seagull and an ibanez, both acoustic and the amp reproduces the sound perfectly right out of the box. If you play an acoustic electric and are looking for "that" sound, this is your amp.

Comments about Rocktron V50D Velocity 50W Guitar Combo Amp:
I wanted to get a newer amp to complement my assortment of tube amps(Marshall,Gibson,Peavy) without mortgaging the house.I thought about another Marshall but wanted a amp with a really clean sound and some built in effects. This little amp fills the bill and more! The clean channel just what I was looking for,add a three band eq,stere chorus, delay, and a distortion channel.Took me five minutes to get the tone and sound I wanted. I'm currently playing Joe Bonnamassa stuff and with the exception of a reverb almost there.Purchaced Boss RV-5 now we are spot on! Amp is powerfull enough to push my Marshall cabinets. Also has two lines out and two speaker jacks as well. I am well pleased with this amp. Rocktron did their homework.Five year warranty and the coolest thing is the Rocktron nameplate lights up.I don't use much distortion however this puppy will get real "dirty",the delay is great, the chorus warm,eq very useable. Hard to believe it's not a tube amp with the quality of sound. Worth a good hard look. They also have rack mount amps and line of effects as well. Well Done Rocktron! P.S. get the two footpedals and Thank You Musicians Friend for anothe great buy.

Comments about Rocktron V50D Velocity 50W Guitar Combo Amp:
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
The amp is nice but the speaker seam like its blown when I turn up the bass past twelve o'clock. I really like the chorus thou it does alot for the money and I like the fact that I can hook up my extra speakers.
the speaker sounds like a blown car speaker. maybe it's just me but I don't like that sound.
I'm not happy

after reading a few reviews I must say that I made a great purchase and selection in buying this amp. In my opinion you could mic this amp and play anywhere with it, I have the volume set to 3 and and you can feel the chords buzzing through the floor, I would recommend this amp for any type of musical style from rock metal and even the country buff, I do not think any would be disapointed!
This amp really has all you need for a great sound, the chours souds great and the delay is awesome
Really clear crisp sound and the distortion channel cranks out for your metal music

So i got this cuz my old 30 watt drive amp kinda sucks alot. And this thing is amazing. I have yet to see how my stomp boxes work with it but i imagine it will be pretty sweet. great amp so far...
Comments about Rocktron V50D Velocity 50W Guitar Combo Amp:
This amp is insane! It is a little heavy but the two speakers make the chorus sound really nice. The distortion is nice and crunchy and it can get loud. Get this amp now!
Comments about Rocktron V50D Velocity 50W Guitar Combo Amp:
I watched the demo video of this amp about 10 times before I bought it. Once i got it, Iwas impressed b the chorus and the delay-very useable. I also really do like the clean channel. Distortion channel is geared towrad classic rock. I was hoping for heavier, but whatever, this isn't my only amp. Distortion tends to be midrangey and vocal like-kinda like if you were running a wah through it all of the time. Reminds me of a 70's marshall. Distortion notes tend to unnaturally decay-not much sustain. Good amp though.
