Rogue

A multi-purpose chorus effects pedal.

The Rogue Analog Chorus pedal creates modulation effects, from wide sweeping to shimmering 12-string sound. It adds depth to electric guitars, electronic keyboards and more.

Two control knobs let you quickly adjust the modulation speed and depth. A true bypass switch engages and disengages the effect. An LED indicator shows you when the effect is engaged and gets dim when it's time to change the battery.

The Rogue Analog Chorus pedal is made of aluminum and built to last.

For what I do, I use a limited amount of chorus, and this pedal suits me well. This pedal has a somewhat limited range of chorus effects, but what it does, it does well. The Range and Depth knobs provide enough range to go from just barely perceptible to 12-string jangle. The chorus sound very musical, and not harsh. For me, the build quality, the tone, and the price make it a nice bargain.
I got this chorus pedal as part of a package deal (a very good bargain), and thought I would give Rogue pedals a try. This pedal sure seems to be well built--metal housing, sturdy knobs, and a stiff switch.

I have one of the Delta Lab pedals as well, so I was able to do a side-by-side. I think both brands are one of those Musician's Friend sub-companies so I wondered if it was the same product in a different package.Well, had to say that for sure. But they sure do sound the same. In fact they sound nearly identical if you turn the level know to about 2:30 on the Delta Lab.I popped the Rogue open to see if there was an internal trim pot for controlling level, but there wasn't.The rate and depth controls, are subtly different between the two, but nothing major. You dial them both in just about the same. I suspect the Delta Lab has more stages, as it feels like it has more 'voices' interracting, producing a more random 'pulsing pattern'. So the Rogue is 'chewier' the same way a 2 stage phaser is 'chewier' than a 6 stage phaser.Yes, it is noisy. That's why I wanted to find an internal level trim pot. My Delta Lab is equally noisy with it's level at 2:30 as well. But with the Delta Lab I can lower the level and increase the depth and be fairly happy with the sound and noise levels. With this one you're stuck with a bit of hiss, but it IS a richer, 'chewier', 'gooier' chorus than most.I also have a DOS Icebox chorus and a DanElectro CoolCat chorus, both of which have tone controls as well as level, rate and depth. Both of those are more high freq choruses. They seem to 'shimmer' more. More 'pretty', 'sparkly' tone than the Rogue for sure. The Rogue is a warmer pedal than those. Definitely has a more analog feel to it than the chorus in my DigiTech RP350, but the noise and lack of stereo outputs mean the RP350 beats it hands down.

Comments about Rogue Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have been leaving mine on most of the time just to fatten up my tone a bit. Works great with gain and even better with clean. I don't know how it would compare to more expensive ones. The last one I used was in the 90's and it was built into the amp.

Comments about Rogue Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm a trumprt player who uses lots of effects at live gigs. My experience has been that the boutique stuff doesn't cut it in my setup. Signals are very weak. Good for the piggy bank that way.
Bought this because it was inexpensive.
Nothing fancy, for sure, but does the wobbly chorus thing just fine. Well constructed (so far), and reletively quiet when engauged. True bypass seems to be correct. No noticable noise when not on.

Comments about Rogue Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

Sounds OK at best, but the worst part is the footswitch is so cheap it breaks within a month. It is unfixable because the switch is soldered directly to the circuit board. Maybe a professional with high end tools could fix it, but, I will never buy another Rogue pedal. Very badly built.

Comments about Rogue Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is an excellent value! With that said, I have a friend with a Red Witch Chorus priced ten times as much that does a very different amount and character of modulation.

This is a simple, yet very useable chorus. If you run your chorus 100% of the time, you might want to try something else, as it does color your tone a bit.

I play mostly modern worship at church, and this, layered into a multi-head echo into a Hall of Fame reverb can make your cleans sound huge. I run it with the speed at 2 o'clock-ish and the depth at 9 o'clock to add texture. Turn up the depth for a more prominent modulation.

You can get a variety of sounds of this pedal... the only downside is there is a noticeable change when you turn it on. I run a Tele or Les paul into TU-2>MXR 10 band EQ>GFS Greenie>PH-2>Morley Volume Pedal>ROGUE ANALOG CHORUS>Modded DL-4>Hall of Fame>Little Giant>NOS Blues Junior/Hot Rod Deluxe/Classic 50 410. It sounds good with all of othem!

Comments about Rogue Analog Chorus Guitar Effects Pedal:

It is the only Rogue pedal I don't love. It is not as smooth of a transition when rotating, so it goes from not changing the sound at all, to making it sound like you are just out of tune. I am not the hugest fan of Chorus effect, but was hoping this would be different, but still nothing for me quite right yet.
