I was pleasantly supprised when UPS delivered this little beast. I have a Crate GLX65, which I hate, I have a Pignose 65R, which I love almost as well as any amp I've ever owned. We wanted a bass amp for my son Aleksandr to learn on. imagine our suprise when I threw my Squier std. fat strat on it and it sounded almost as good as my pignose. I tend to play with a lot of bass, even on leads and the little Rogue came through with flying colors! Tried some pedals on it, (Boss Overdrive and Big Muff w/Crybaby Wah), ditto! And when I played Aleksandr's Ibanez bass on it, it preformed like a bass amp should. This little thing preforms so well, I'm thinking about getting its big brother for my large guitar amp, adding a fender reverb and hitting the trail. Of course I'll keep my Pignose for small gigs. This little amp dispells the myth that Rogue is short on quality control. Bull feathers! Nothing but quality, in fact much more quality than I expected. Also, I'd like to dispell another myth: here in Roanoke they say "don't buy amps over the web--they'll be crushed...". Funny, but UPS is how the local dealers get their stock. In short I was very impressed with the Rogue RB-20B and with this site.

My only real complaint about this amp is that it should have a closed back and be ported on the front panel. That would give it way more bottom end and get more out of the 8" speaker. I have some guitar practice amps like that. It's fairly well made and all the controls work well. I think it might be good for an acoustic/electric bass if you wanted just a bit of extra volume rather than the acoustic sound alone. It's Ok for practice but with other amps, it would get buried for sure, and it distorts at too low a volume. Eh, forty bucks, waddya want? Spend more, and you'll get a better amp.

I got this amp with my 1st bass. I thought it was ok...until I played on an other amp. This amp is ok if you don't know if you will like playing bass and don't have much money. It doesn't have much of a low end but the high is ok. It is pretty loud for a 20 watt...I used it in a full band setting and was still able to be heard. But I would get a better amp if I were you.
It sounds bad, and it's built poorly. Spend some more money, and buy something nicer!
When i purchased this bass combo I was at first just slighty disappointed. But as time went on I became more upset with my buy of this practice amp. If possible, over time is became more distorted everytime i turned it on. I would not get this amp knowning how it has turned out. I must admit, it still works though, and that's saying a lot since my previous experience with Rogue. I will never purchase anything with that particular name on it ever again.
Do NOT buy this amp, unless you wish to have a NON-clean bass practice amp. This amp cannot go clean. It is stuck in distortion mode, and won't go back. I do not suggest anyone buy this product.
Bought this amp thinking it would be a good buy, and a good practice amp. I turned it on and it had no power at all. I borrowed a friends amp which was 15 watts and it blows my amp away. If your looking for a good practice amp its ok, but id spend more money and get a higher qualitly amp. The one plus is that it is cheap in price
I got this crappy amp, with my first crappy bass. If your looking for a good practice amp thats only 40 bucks........ well ther are none. More than likely you have to spend over 140-200 bucks for a good practice amp. My best suggestiong would be a 1 10 speaker amp.
This was the first bass amp that I bought. Although it is very inexpensive, I would highly recommend spending a few more bucks on a better practice amp. This thing has absolutely no bottom end. It has less bottom end than most practice guitar amps. Lots of background noise as well. If you ever try to play through one of these with a other musicians, like a drummer and guitarist, don't expect to hear yourself at all. Again, I strongly recommend dishing out a few extra dollars for a better amp.
I got the amp as a starting amp for its cheap price. Its tone was always hard and non-musical sounding. I now have a Hartke 15" 120-watt and am much happier with it. The main reason I upgraded was because I couldn't even hear what I was playing when a guitar and drums were going - and that's with volume on it and my bass all the way up! Now I can play over the drums no problem at half power. For the price, it isn't that bad, but it is probably the worst bass amp you'll find. I recommend to get a much nicer amp than this, even if you dont have the money, save up!
I wanted a small bass amp to take to the cabin and leave so I could practice. As a bass amp, this little thing is not what you need. I know 20-watts is not much for bass, but it was advertised as a bass amp and I expected it to have at least some bottom. Volume at two is the same as volume wide open. The 8" speaker distorted no matter what volume was played. This amp should not be advertised as a bass amp.
For the price you pay for this amp, you get a decent practice amp. Played this amp with a couple friends and i got muffled out by them. I would recommend buying this only for practice use and not with the use of other amps.
