I bought the Rogue 50-watt bass amp mainly because of the cheap cost. After getting it home and trying it out, I put it in competition against a Peavey 100 watt, a Fender 100 watt, and a Fender 160 watt amp. Even though it was 50% lower wattage or less, it came very close to holding its own. The weight was far less than the above mentioned amps but yet the volume output still made it useable in venues that I thought I would need a larger amp. I have tried one other Rogue product, {bass guitar} and was totally dissatisfied with it - but with the 50-watt amp, I was so surprised that now the 120-watt bass amp is on my wish list! Hopefully it will impress me as much as the 50-watt bass amp did!

When i started playing bass and bought this amp a little over a year ago it was great, but i've already outgrown it. It just can't supply the clarity i'm looking for at higher volumes. I'm in a ska band, and i have to turn up to at least 7 to be heard in my friend's garage, but when i do so, i get a kind of distortion most people have to pay for. It's fine for metal or punk, but it just can't supply much of any clarity when i turn it above 5. It also doesn't handle drop-D very well, even though it's just a full step below an E, which sounds fine. It's a great deal for a beginner, but once you become more serious about it, you'll find yourself scrambling money together for something more powerful.

    Decent amp for price

A decent amp for the price but not much presence. It gets drowned out when playing with a drummer and a guitarist.

    Amazing!

This is a great amp! I bought this after moving up from a 30-watt Randall, and I thought that this would only be a little more powerful. Well was I wrong! This thing is so powerful for being a fifty watt, and it's so lightweight for the amount of power it produces. I love the EQ settings, you can really accurately dial in to what you want. Go ahead, buy it!

Wow! I have only been playing bass for around 2 months but I'm in a band so I decided to upgrade amps and this was defnitely the best for Its price range! Excellent sound, incredible variety of tones and volumes, and just freakin huge! All in all this amp is awesome and I would recommend it to any beginning bassist!!

    Good quality for the price

This is not your "professional" amp, but you're not paying anywhere near a professional price. I wanted more "kick" without spending alot of cash and this amp provides that. I've had no problems at all in a year.

When I needed a bass amp, I took a chance buying this one since it was so cheap. But then I realized that not only was it good for practice, but for some of my gigs as well. Overall, it is a very good amp, especially for the price.

    BAD :(

My 15-watt Peavey is louder than this thing! Sucks! Don't buy it, get something better!

    Good, not great

    By J Paris

    from Southern Indiana

After playing for 20 some years and no longer playing with a band, I decided to do away with my big high powered gear. I needed a small amp to get by at home and maybe to sit in on a jam session once in a while. I puchased the RB50B and found it to be adequate for my needs. The tone is decent, volume is low for an advertised 50 watts, but the quality of construction far exceeded my expectations. Overall, it's a good little amp - good, but not great. Worth the $$
