OVERVIEW

A full-sounding addition to any guitar rig.

The Rogue Tremolo pedal creates a pulsating effect by varying the signal's volume in cycles, reminiscent of tremolos found in classic '60s amps.

Three control knobs let you quickly adjust the speed of the tremolo effect, its waveform and the depth of modulation. A true bypass switch engages and disengages the effect. An LED indicator shows you when the effect is engaged and gets dim when it's time to change the battery.

The Rogue Tremolo pedal is made of aluminum and built to last.

I like it. I didn't have a tremolo pedal on my board, so it was a great addition. The other reviews are correct, the depth knob does nothing until you get it at 12:00. From there, it's pretty sensitive. But the thing has no tone suck when it's off, and it really sounds good. It can go from a warm, soft pulse to a full-on stutter / chop. To my ears, there's a bit of a volume boost when it engages. That may be a perception thing though, as the sound is cutting in and out. Overall, if you're thinking of putting a trem pedal on your board for the first time, get this one. See if the trem sound works with your rig. If so, you can keep this little guy or step up. I'll probably always hang on to mine, even if I upgrade, just for a back-up. It sounds really good.

I was excited when I first got this pedal. It sounded great with no loss in sound, it looked great, and it takes up a small fingerprint on my effects peadalboard. It absolutely nails the Creedence - Born on the Bayou sound which I needed playing in a Classic Rock cover band. I run my effects (chorus, flanger, phaser, tremolo, and delay) through the effects loop of my MESA Express amps for the best sound with just a compressor, wah, tuner, and distortion going into the amps.

I was hesitant to buy a Rogue brand product and now I see the cause of my worry. It worked great until the switch broke at a gig. Luckily it broke when I switched it off so it wasn't stuck on and it was bypassed so there wasn't any loss in signal. I don't hit my pedals hard to turn them on and off and this one broke after less than a year of gigging a few times a month. My other MXR, BOSS, and Carl Martin pedals I've had for years are still working fine and I turn them on and off much more frequently than the Tremolo.

The only reason I bought it was the good reviews and I got mine on sale. For how cheap it was I just cut my losses and salvaged the knobs and washers and nuts for spare parts. I am now addicted to the tremolo sound so I've decided to try the Behringer Tremolo pedal because it's on clearance and I just need it for a few tunes. I'm sure that one will break eventually as well so I bought two to have one as a backup. If/when those break I will bite the bullet and pay for a higher priced tremolo.

I'd recommend this pedal for studio/home use but not for live performances.

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Sure, there are hand-made beauties with more features, but what if you just want a simple tremolo with soft-to-hard waveform for just a little money? The Rogue Tremolo pedal simply works. It is noise-free.

Hear with your ears, not your eyes

By Wardy

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. It's well built, nice and compact and it does what it's supposed to. You have to turn the depth up past the 12 o' clock position to hear anything, but that's ok. There isn't a bunch of different sounds in this box, but what's there is quality. When engaged, you can hear it pulsing through the amp when you're not playing, but it lessens a little bit through the FX loop. Again, not a huge deal. Most people associate Rogue as being entry level, but this thing works just as well as any of the higher priced stuff. I'm curious to try the other pedals in the Rogue line. Just like all of the Rogue gear I own and use, I'm proud to own this tremolo pedal.

Nice Tremolo

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

The Rogue Tremolo Pedal is great. For what you pay, you get far more than you paid for. A sturdy little pedal, with easy controls, and TRUE BYPASS! Very nice. Tone really isn't affected (whether clean or overdriven). Sounds great, does what a tremolo should. Mixes with other pedals well, lets your amop sound like your amp, and your guitar still sounds like your guitar. No reason to spend tons of money on an expensive pedal if all you want is basic tremolo. Just get this one.

Nice surf sounds

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

It is what it is, another must have for the collection. If your surf'n you need this pedal.
Made much like the old MXR boxes, very sturdy. Pretty quiet too. Also a plus with true bypass. Speed/Rate adjust nicely. Figure about 400 ms delay maximum time. It is what it is another must have for the collection. I found I needed 2 delays. Just didnt have time to keep adjusting one back and forth. Now I can even double them together, pretty cool sounds abound.
Made much like the old MXR boxes, very sturdy. Pretty quiet too. No problems thus far with this unit.
Also grabbed the Anolog Delay. Cant beat it for the price.

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This tremolo sounds very nice; it's very smooth sounding and seems to be essentially noise free. I use it with a Fender Strat through a Peavey amp. The build quality is also excellent, and the price is good. Recommended.

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

After having used this pedal only once, I gave it a glowing review. It sounded wonderful! However, after only two days of very light usage, it went crazy and died. (Locoweed, maybe?) Musician's Friend, being an outstanding business, gladly exchanged it right away. Unfortunately, the replacement did the same. Rogue is known for manufacturing reasonably good products at a low price; this time, however, it did not work out that way. MF simply may have received a bad batch of tremolos, but I recommend waiting until Rogue can solve its quality-control issue before buying this product.

Tremolos are a must have for me. I am so glad I found this one. Solid built, true bypass, aluminum body. Three knobs are familiar and produce everything you need and more. From smooth vintage sounding tremolos all the way to helicopter. An the best part is the Wave knob witch sounds like it goes fron Sine to Triangle and Square. Buy it,you will be so surprised!!!

      Good Tremolo

      By DocHelliday

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this thing earlier this month as I needed a trem pedal. I really like the ability to not only choose between the waves, but how you can blend them. My favourite sound so far uses at blend of square and sine so, its a good feature, that not many others have, esp not at this price. I noticed no volume drop, or tone suck, also the casing is durable. This may not be boutique enough for some, but if you need a trem pedal don't hesitate, just buy it! You won't regret it.

how good can a $30 pedal be?

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

Well... I have owned a few fender amps that have tremolo onboard and this holds up to them! Yes, a tube driven tremolo is very sweet.. but for $30 it does a great job! The depth has to be turned up halfway to get any usable effect but then maxed out it is drenched in trem. (so it does work just turn that depth to 12 o'clock and enjoy!)Overall I say this is a winner based on price and sound. This is going on the board and will be used from here out. I use other effects 6x the price but this little bugger will sit side by side with them!

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

I decided to give this a try after my boss tremolo pedal stopped working, and I did not want to spend too much on a replacement. Controls and sound are pretty similar to the boss, but I actually like the sound a little better than the boss. It is true bypass, so it does not effect the tone while off (which my boss did a little). It also came with a battery, which I thought was nice since many of my more expensive pedals did not. The build quality is also much nicer than I was expecting, inside and out. The small footprint is also nice for my increasingly cluttered board.

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal does what it's supposed to do. Frankly, it would be embarrassing for a company to screw up a trem, unlike, for a example, a chorus pedal, where many people can prefer different kinds of pedals. There really is no point in spending more money on a trem, other than for maybe some kind of show of wealth. To yourself.

Comments about Rogue Tremolo Guitar Effects Pedal:

i have owned a number of tremolo pedals over the years, and tend to favor designs that either incorporate or mimic the original Fender optical-based design of the 60's. My major beef with most of these pedals is they are loud when engaged, and have too much effect on overall signal levels in a chain, meaning they are NOT true bypass design. Rogue's forte has been to build the most commonly needed effect pedals without any unnecessary frills or features. They use good quality components, and still achieve a price point well below nearly any name brand and even most of the other import products. The ONLY potential shortcoming I can see in this particular pedal design in the fact that most of the controls don't produce any significant change until you are near or just past the 12 o'clock position. From that point on, adjustments need to be VERY small, yet can product big differences. I believe most of this operational aspect comes from true analog design. The lack of any tone drain when the pedal is not engaged is also very significant and a big positive. Rogue's product puts vintage tremolo effects within reach of most every guitarist at less than half the price of the major competitors.
