      OVERVIEW

Makes a versatile mini PA too!

The Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor delivers 30W of audio punch through a rugged, high-quality 6.5" coaxial 2-way speaker with stereo preamp. The CM-30 is designed for home-studio and wide-ranging monitoring applications, but it can be used for live monitoring onstage as well.

The Roland CM-30 monitor speaker offers more than enough inputs to simultaneously connect a microphone, a keyboard, a rhythm machine, and a CD player, or to function as a mini-PA rig. It's equipped with 3 input channels, with one XLR mic/line input and 2 additional AUX RCA and stereo mini-phone inputs, making a total of 5 simultaneous inputs possible (4 stereo and one mono input). The Stereo Link function allows 2 CM-30s to be linked for true stereo output, which enables a total of 10 inputs.

Sound can be further refined with the Roland speaker's onboard 2-band equalizer. As with all other controls, the EQ knobs are conveniently located on the front panel for quick access.

The Roland CM-30 can be easily and safely toted from location to location thanks to its built-in handle grip, protective metal grille cover, and cabinet corner protectors. Other handy features include a stereo headphone jack and mic stand adapter.

I'm a one girl band and the Roland CM-30 was just the ticket for me in my smaller venues..I use it as a pa and with a 4 ch mixer, my guitar/vocals/mini disc background tracks come thru beautifully and no one can believe that ALL that sound is coming thru something so small. One night my Bose L1 system wouldn't function and I had no choice but to grab the CM-30 from the van...There I was in a room of 80 people dancing and having a great time, and no one even noticed that I was performing thru the 30-watt cube. I was so impressed that I have since bought a 2nd cube and now use the two as my main set up, only using the Bose in rooms of 200 or more. I have also purchased a small powered subwoofer and when I try it out with the cubes, I'm hoping I will never have to cart around a heavier system..CANNOT say ENOUGH wonderful things about the Roland CM-30...Best musical purchase I've ever made!!! I am in FL and play for retirement golf communities. I play out 4-5 times a week, and some times do 3 gigs in one day...WHAT a difference this has made on my back. Thank You ROLAND!!!

I was interested in buying this until I played and sang through it. The features for a small product such as this are very good and it felt like a Roland in your hand - sturdy but light. It IS a quality item. It actually sounded stellar with an acoustic electric guitar. For practice, small gigs and such it is NOT adequate for vocals. The sound was good but it was easier to just sing louder - my voice was louder than my voice through it as a pa. It also clips considerably at high volume. I wanted to like it, but feel it is underpowered, overpriced and not loud enough for even coffee shop applications. Ok for guitar but practically useless for live vocals.

Comments about Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor:

The monitor was as described and looked like new (in fact, I only remembered it was used when I opened the email asking me for a review!).
I only use it with my electronic drum for home practice ("practice" is even a big word, I'm more just having fun, really). Sometimes headphones are not the feeling you're going for, or you just wanna show off, and this is absolutely perfect.
I can't talk for using the cube in a band setting, I'm alone in my living room (or with someone singing and stereo blasting) but I never used it at more than 50% power so I'm guessing it could be useful!

Comments about Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor:

The sound this tiny box puts out is surprising. It puts out rich highs and lows. And there's plenty of connectivity options as well. t can be pretty loud, so it works well as a personal monitor to a degree, like a small jazz club, nothing massive. I hooked it up to my Alesis DM10 eDrums and it sounds exquisite. The cm30 takes very very very little room as well. You'll be amazed at its size. If by chance you do get it and use it right away and here some pinging or distortion, play something thru it for a few hours like an ipod or the likes there of. It will go away, trust me

Comments about Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor:

Fantastic audio output power and quality for a very compact and light weight, 12.5 Lbs. I use them for keyboard monitors at band practice. I wouldn't have believe if anyone told me how good they sound until I heard them for myself. Well-built like the larger Roland amps. Check them out!

Comments about Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor:

Wanted to simplify my life. Dreamed of a single system that would replace my PA, guitar amps, and home studio monitors--and be portable enough to carry in one load. I figured on making big compromises, but didn't have to. The CM-30s do well for all but the most critical studio work, sound great with a couple stomp boxes on my electric and acoustic, and produce a nice clean, warm sound for duo use in small venues. Usable utility mixer built in is a big bonus, as is the ultra durable exterior and expectation of Roland reliability.

I've owned it for about 4 months. I perform for various size crowds 2-3 time a week. It is great for small rooms with crowds of 20-40 people. Great coverage an easy to use and transport. For larger crowds I use a different front of house and use this as a personal monitor. It cuts through the room noise and gives me good monitoring. For those uses, it's perfect for me.

I use this monitor as an acoustic instrument amplifier and to listen to recorded music. For this it works great. I especially like that it is quiet, meaning that it does not have any noticeable humming, clicks or other unwanted sounds it produces. It I also quite portable and seems sturdy. It is not large enough to hear in a loud environment or fill a large room with sound but does a great job for what it is designed for.

Comments about Roland CM-30 Cube Monitor:

I've been looking for a self contained unit that I could use for practice in my living room...something small for guitar or keyboard, vocals, and either drum machine or foot stomp box...with 3 separate inputs, this sounded like a good choice...I was a little sceptacle because of the size...plugged in my guitar: sounded great...plugged in my mic: sounded great...plugged in my Shadow stop box: sounded like it should...so I did some jamming, and I was really pleased...I usually just do solo guitar/vocal gigs these days, and I wanted a small practice amp...this fills the bill....wish it had an effects loop, but I just plug my SM58 into my TC Mic Mechanic, and my guitar into a delay, and I'm all set...the volume and sound quality really belies the size of the CM-30...I really like this and may purchase another for a nice stereo setup, or maybe to monitor my recordings...got a great price too, and it's worth every penny...

Bought this monitor for cheap about a year ago and am still impressed. I use it for a computer speaker, listening to music, and practicing bass. For music it's solid. No complaints at all. Enough bass out of a small speaker and the mids and highs i had no problem with. I am a beginner bassist and use this for practicing. I play a 5 string bass and it should sound awful, but really doesnt. obviously not enough lows to handle my low b string but not bad at all. Ive also used this for vocals and keys in a live/jam setting and was not disappointed at all. It actually was audible over a drummer playing metal. Its really light and portable. Overall a great product with a great price tag, especially if bought used.
