OVERVIEW

Incredible value in a punchy little amp!

The Roland Cube 15 Combo really packs a punch! There are lots of affordable guitar amps available on the market today, but none of them have the charisma, style, or finesse of this Roland offering. Representing incredible value in compact guitar amps, this light, portable, and affordable little beast hosts an 8" speaker with 15W of pure tone quality.

In addition to its own crisp, clean tone, the Roland Cube 15 features the equivalent of 4 of the best Boss distortion pedals - the DS1, SD1, MT2, and MD2 - an incredible value! You'd pay more for just 2 pedals than you will for the entire Cube 15!

A 3-band EQ lets you fine-tune your tone, and an auxiliary input enables you to connect other products such as drum machines or CD players, making the Roland Cube 15 Guitar Combo Amp a true jam machine!

FEATURES
  • Compact guitar amp with 15W output and 8" speaker
  • 2-channel operation
  • Lead sounds include Overdrive, Distortion, Metal, and Metal Stack
  • 3-band EQ for precise tonal shaping
  • Recording/headphone output for silent practice and recording

Here's the deal, I was looking for a cheap amp to take on a beach trip and didn't want to go big. I was also looking for two channels to plug up a boss loop station, for that you need two inputs and though the cube has two channels it only has one input between the two :( what was I to do? No worries, I figured the auxilary input might work and decided to give it a try. It worked, but not just worked, worked great. I play an Epiphone Les Paul that I have totally customized, one modification has been the addition of an LR Baggs t-bridge and preamp, it sounds sooo acoustic through the auxulary channel it is unbelievable. So I loop that unbelievable acoustic sound and then play leads over top with a number of different effects, I say buy it!

I just recieved this amp yesterday and I'm returning it today. Its not that its bad for what it is but its just not what I expected at all. The clean channel is really nice when its turned down to low volumes but as soon as you get past 5 it gets a lot of static. I think the unit is too powerfully designed for the speaker. On top of this the distortions that are supposed to be comparable to all those BOSS pedals are anything but. You only have one EQ for the two channels and they don't give you the control that the pedals give you. The basic overdrive is way too distorted to get any good tone and the Metal stack setting is just a crappy emulation. The only good thing about this amp is the recording out port which is kinda handy but this amp was really a disappointment. BYW don't even think about using pedals with this thing. The processor picks up on highs way to much and make pedals that normally sound great sound like total crap.

Good amp..... at first

By Anonymous

This amp is really awesome when you first buy it, but after about eight months the clean channel goes bad. The effects are great if you turn the gain up, but if you want a good clean channel you should go with a fender or marshall amp.

Awesome!A Great Buy.

I've had the Roland Cube 15 for about 2 years not and it's definitely the best value amp I ever bought. For the price and the package you can't beat it. It's light, and small, and still packs a huge punch as loudness is concerned. The distortion effects are amazing considering the deal but if you want a good quality clean sound go with a Marshall or Fender. Especially if you are a beginner, you can't go wrong with this one.

great little practice amp

i was in awe the first time that i played this little thing. don't be fooled by its size because it is packin'. the clean channel is awesome, you can make it sound almost acoustic with the right knowledge. the distortion. man was i amazed. this thing has four different boss effects, my favorite being the metal stack which is really beefy. the other distortions are great too from silky smooth overdrive to in your face death metal, it has it all. the only thing it's missing is some spring reverb.

I played it as my first amp for 2 years while I saved up for a head and cab... No problems, other than I blew out the metal-stack distortion by having a my metalzone on at the same time.Other than that it is a really nice amp. The clean is pretty round, fat and clear for a small amp. The metal-stack distortion was really nice to start out with, it really does sound pretty close to a metalzone pedal.I'm pretty sure you could throw it off a cliff and it would still work.Good amp :)

another fine piece of gear from roland

By GuitarProphet

i just recently picked me up one of these bad boys, not knowing what i would get myself into: an adiction.I found that this amp can cover basically and genre of musical styles whether it be metal or jazz. It also seems to get quite loud and still maintain good harmonics and not muddy up. I especially was impressed with the clean channel, which seems to have a bit of jc-120 feel to it. I use this amp just to piddle around with, but i find myself playing it a lot more than most of my amps. It is a very high quality amp and has a huge, in your face sound.

Great Practice Amp

By Bigguy5096161

This amp rocks! It is pretty loud for such a small amp. The clean channel is fairly clean and sounds pretty good. If you are looking for a pritine clean sound I would look for another amp but for distorted sounds it is awesome. It has four built in distortion models and all are awesome. The overdrive give you the little bit of crunch you need for blues and the distortion is great for rock. The oter two ones, the metal and metal stack have a huge sound the metal one sounds thick and gritty and the stack actually sounds bit like a stack. The casing is built solidly and is pretty rugid. This is a great practice amp and it is loud.

i was astonished with the sound that came from this little amp. The clean channel sounded better on it than it does on my 5150!
