OVERVIEW

Rule the street with your guitar, a mic, and Roland!

The Roland CUBE Street is the amp for you if you're a musician on the move. Whether you're running to a rehearsal, lesson, street gig, or any situation that requires portability and versatility, the battery powered CUBE Street guitar amp is a marvel that's ready to travel fast. The CUBE Street sounds amazing and is capable of high-volume output thanks to dual digital power amps and a pair of high-performance neodymium speakers. And just wait until you hear the built-in effects and amp models!

Great Sound to Go

Roland CUBE amps are famous for performance that exceeds their physical size, and the CUBE Street is no exception. With two high performance neodymium speakers onboard, this amp sounds incredible, and is capable of high-volume output that defies its physical dimensions. Best of all, it can run for up to 15 hours on just six AA alkaline batteries.

8 Amps Onboard

More than meets the eye, the CUBE Street is actually 8 different amps in one via its built-in COSM amp models. From tube-driven blues classics to modern metal stacks, Roland's COSM technology is world famous for capturing every nuance of the original amps -- from the preamp and circuits to the speaker.

Bonus Features

The CUBE Street amplifier is chock full of extra features to make your gigs easier, including a built-in chromatic tuner and 2 digital effects processors. In addition to the aforementioned COSM amp models, you can choose from six of Roland's famous effects to enrich your sound.

Portable PA

It's a guitar amp and mini PA system in one! With its dual-channel architecture and XRL/1/4" Microphone input, you can sing and play guitar through one convenient amplifier. There's even a delay and reverb devoted to the Mic/Line channel.

Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

As a classical guitarist who plays mostly weddings and corporate events, I often play outdoors. Many occasions I have had to stretch over 100' of extension cord across a manicured garden, sometimes tricky to hide, and hardly ideal. On a recent trip to New Orleans I spotted the Cube Street for the first time, then began to notice that every guitar-playing street musician was using one. Some were sitting on them, and several of the units showed great signs of outer wear which did not affect the sound. I really was impressed by the sound that a battery-powered unit could deliver - I'd stumbled upon a solution.
The day after mine arrived I played 2 gigs - an outdoor wedding (2 hours) and a restaurant (1-1/2 hours) on battery power. I had already played at the house on battery power for about 2 hours.
My wife, a singer, and my son, a gifted bass player, both commented that the sound quality of the Cube Street is very good. Certainly I had to tinker with the controls to optimize the tone I was looking for. Objectively, I am quite accustomed to the richer bass response of my primary acoustic amp, which I intend to continue using at indoor gigs. But for my upcoming outdoor gigs, the Roland Cube Street - a fine balance of tone, volume, and portability - will be at every one.
Be advised there is no volume control for the auxiliary input for MP3 players. When using this jack, volume must be regulated from the MP3 player or Aux device. Alternatively, you can use a 1/4" adapter and plug into the the mic channel, and use the volume/tone controls for that channel, so a non-issue.

Tried this little guy out at the music store today because the looks really caught me but I have to say I was disappointed. The clean tone is passable but uninspiring and the distortion is a write-off - very soft gain, quite limp. I tried it with a $1000 Mexican Strat, an el-cheapo $300 Strat and a $500 Godin and nothing sounded great. It does manage to go nicely loud, and the mic-specific features are a great bonus, but performance-wise I just can't recommend it.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a great amp with the street performer in mind. It's actually several amps in one--a guitar amp, an acoustic guitar/keyboard amp, and a PA with a dedicated mic input. Very versatile and ideal for the performing guitarist/singer. Great sounding as well.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this little amp to use for vocal boost when playing outside when no power is available. It worked like a champ for that and also for limited space venues like clubs. We have a Bose L2 for large venues and this amp almost rivals it for sound quality. The only improvement I can think of is a recharging battery pack.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a decent little box. With the eq I was able to dial in a good tone. The effects are good and the amp samples provide a variety of textures. I use the clean amp for jazz type arrangements.
Watch out though, for there is no out and no phantom power.
BTW I was amazed that the 6 double As put out as well as if the amp were plugged in.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

Other amps I have tired were subject to hum and noise in the environment of a commercial truck cab. This Roland Cube is almost silent. The clean channel is very clear and that is important for my 12-string electric guitar. I like the high quality of the amp models and effects. It is useful as a basic stereo monitor for my portable recording studio. Battery life is quite good. For me on the road as a commercial truck driver, this amp is optimal for my situation.

          Love it!!!!
Just what I wanted for practice without going into my studio and starting up the whole board.
Headphone output is great for when I want to play when my husband is watching tv.
Plenty loud enough vocal with nice reverb for plaing small gigs or family and friends.
          Nice for the price!

Great small amp for practicing anywhere, anytime! Good quality sound in a compact yet rugged package. It's light weight and very easy to carry and transport. My only minor gripe is that it doesn't have separate Delay and Reverb dials. Other than that, I'm totally satisfied with this amp! Roland does it again.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

Sound quality is equivalent to a high quality boom box...which is not bad...don't expect too much from 6.5" speakers. That being said...one can easily distinguish between amped classical, jazz archtop, or straight solid body electric...very nice. On board effects are excellent. Delay/reverb are the only effects for second vocal/instrument mic jack...disappointing, but not the end of the world. There are jacks for effects foot switches on the back. Sold seperately of course.

Comments about Roland CUBE Street Battery Powered Stereo Guitar Combo Amp:

The main reason I first bought this amplifier was it's small size and light weight. I was really tired of dragging heavy amps with me to play at various venues such as nursing homes, restaurants, etc. This little amp did not disappoint me in any category. On one occasion, I played for a Cracker Barrel restaurant and had no trouble being heard throughout the facility. Quality of the acoustic sound was excellent. This was surprising since I was playing a Taylor GS Mini with an after market sound hole pickup. I love the light weight of this unit, the sound quality and the fact you can use a mere 6 penlight batteries for many hours of play time. Audience response has always been very positive when I use this little amplifier. Several old time Georgia guitar pickers have admired this unit and asked me lots of questions when I've used it on many occasions. I play both acoustic and electric guitars through this unit with excellent results.
