I've spent a lot of time to find out some review on this amp but since it's new model there was almost no review I found, so I decided to give it a try with hopeful mind of it's an upgrade model of Cube series.

There were questions I had and I guess many of us may have similar questions if you're a big fan of Cube amps like me. Here's we go.

I've been playing guitar about 15 years. And had a couple of amps. I wanted to have a small amp for practice and portability reason. I happened to buy a Cube Xl-40.

At the first time, I didn't expect much and I didn't think it will sound better than my tube amp. But I found my self, I'm no more using any other amps and even any pedals. It sounds best when I plug my guitar directly. I so much like the tone not only for the clean but also dirty tone. I simply failed to make better sound using my luxury pedal board. So I've been using only Cube all the times for a year.

But there was a problem. It lacks of master volume. Which is critical to live performers. And there's no way to insert a volume pedal after the preamp. So I bought GA-112 and here's what I found.

On of my biggest question was is it an upgrade version of Cube? Now I believe it's Yes because I can make the Cube tone almost same not only for the tone but also the feeling of the sound. The first part I was doing was I connected my Cube through Tuner-out jack of GA-112 and had both amp sounds. So I was able to make almost same sound that I use with Cube XL both clean and dirty. I found 'Voice' button takes action for this purpose. But GA-112 give much wider range of tone selections.

Another thing I really like is that the foot switch and expression type volume pedal. I bought BOSS FV-500L. I works so nicely. The biggest benefit of using an expression-type volume pedal is that there's no tone loss. Guitar signal doesn't go through the pedal but it's working like controlling the volume knob.

It comes with two set of send/return that can be used for delay and chorus effects, and those can be turned on and off using the foot switch.

This amp has all the feature that I need including the tone. Hope this review helps.

Very overated & disappointed in the sound / tone ranges. This would be a great powerful amp for Hard Rock and Metal players.
The reverb and substain are almost non existing. You would need a full range of pedal effects with this amp. Don't buy this if you play standards, jazz, country, 50's to 70's music.

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

I am super happy with the GA-112. The clean sounds are excellent. Unlike many modeling amps, the GA-112 doesn't set out to copy anything directly; you just twist the knobs and let your ears decide. I love the presence knob, and I can get very close to a clean bassman or deluxe reverb. I am confident that no one in the audience could tell that I am not using an expensive tube amp.
The range of gain is incredible. It can get excellent blues or rock overdrive. You can set one channel for a mid-rangey tube-screamer sound and another more like a crunchy american break-up. If you want to get extreme, it can go up to and past full metal madness. I have never seen an amp go this far (spanky clean to thrash) and sound this good without pedals.
The GA-112 handles pedals well. It has two effects loops for delay, chorus or what have you. Just to experiment I put a fuzz and a couple of overdrives in front and it sounds good. However, I plan to leave the o/d and distortion pedals home and use the built in progressive amp for my dirt. I also like the built in reverb.
I bought the GA-112 thinking to use it as a practice amp, but I soon discovered it was so much more. It is pretty loud, but if you are playing with mic'd up drums and tons of decibels, you can mic this out or use the direct line out into the PA for extra volume. I own four tube amps and two other solid state amps. I believe that this amp can hang with them. I actully will sell some of my smaller tube amps. This will be my road amp and a worthy backup for my SuperSonic60.

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This amp really changes character depending on your guitar's pickup switch position. I can't believe the range of tones I can get. The two guitars I have mainly been using this with are a Strat and a (don't laugh) Daisy Rock Retro H with P90s. The tone that I'm going for is either dark and bluesy or 70's classic-rock overdrive. This amp nails those sounds.

The gain indicator (LED bar) just cracks me up! It goes from green to yellow, then yellow to white at the highest gain setting. Get it? White hot? ha ha ha

This amp is relatively heavy at 54 lbs, so is not exactly easy on the back.

The programming could not be easier, and each of the 4 channels remember the effects loop on/off settings...really nice!

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This amp is quickly becoming one of the best amps I've owned. It has a nice, warm sound. Maybe not to the extent of a tube amp, but not very far from it either. It's a little on the heavy side when you are lugging it around, but the better amps usually are. It's still very portable. Solid construction and decent features that are quickly and easily adjusted -- particularly with how the memory recalls and settings work (no weird double-secret key sequences to program it). The thing I noticed the first time I turned it on was its "soft start". Unlike the many other amps I've owned that start with a loud "thud" of the speaker from the sudden inrush of current into the circuit, this one starts soft, which has to be good for the life of the speaker and circuit in general.

hi bought this amp with footswitch -compared it to my roland DAC50XD and my vintage sounded better. For 100 watt its not very loud-reverb is poor-not what i expected its only worth half asking price if even that. You cannot compare this to a value amp for sound. My laney lc 50 blew it away for sound quality.Do not buy new -the new price is now half what it was originally -roland will not make any profit i think on this model-

This is a very solid amp with a huge variety of sounds from ultra clean to metal. At 100 watts it will perform well in almost any situation. However it is over 54 lbs. so it is not as portable as it would seem. Some great tones from this solid state amp.

The feel & heft of a real pro piece of equipment. This amp is easy to dial in the sound you want, easy to save, and easy to use. Unlike others I tried, when you start twisting the knobs, you clearly hear the difference with what you are doing, and can truly create a wide range of tone, which is what I wanted. If your'e looking for an amp crammed with effects, this is not it. If you want your own tone and have the effects you need, then this amp will make you happy.
