I've spent a lot of time to find out some review on this amp but since it's new model there was almost no review I found, so I decided to give it a try with hopeful mind of it's an upgrade model of Cube series.

There were questions I had and I guess many of us may have similar questions if you're a big fan of Cube amps like me. Here's we go.

I've been playing guitar about 15 years. And had a couple of amps. I wanted to have a small amp for practice and portability reason. I happened to buy a Cube Xl-40.

At the first time, I didn't expect much and I didn't think it will sound better than my tube amp. But I found my self, I'm no more using any other amps and even any pedals. It sounds best when I plug my guitar directly. I so much like the tone not only for the clean but also dirty tone. I simply failed to make better sound using my luxury pedal board. So I've been using only Cube all the times for a year.

But there was a problem. It lacks of master volume. Which is critical to live performers. And there's no way to insert a volume pedal after the preamp. So I bought GA-112 and here's what I found.

On of my biggest question was is it an upgrade version of Cube? Now I believe it's Yes because I can make the Cube tone almost same not only for the tone but also the feeling of the sound. The first part I was doing was I connected my Cube through Tuner-out jack of GA-112 and had both amp sounds. So I was able to make almost same sound that I use with Cube XL both clean and dirty. I found 'Voice' button takes action for this purpose. But GA-112 give much wider range of tone selections.

Another thing I really like is that the foot switch and expression type volume pedal. I bought BOSS FV-500L. I works so nicely. The biggest benefit of using an expression-type volume pedal is that there's no tone loss. Guitar signal doesn't go through the pedal but it's working like controlling the volume knob.

It comes with two set of send/return that can be used for delay and chorus effects, and those can be turned on and off using the foot switch.

This amp has all the feature that I need including the tone. Hope this review helps.

Very overated & disappointed in the sound / tone ranges. This would be a great powerful amp for Hard Rock and Metal players.
The reverb and substain are almost non existing. You would need a full range of pedal effects with this amp. Don't buy this if you play standards, jazz, country, 50's to 70's music.

This is a very solid amp with a huge variety of sounds from ultra clean to metal. At 100 watts it will perform well in almost any situation. However it is over 54 lbs. so it is not as portable as it would seem. Some great tones from this solid state amp.

The feel & heft of a real pro piece of equipment. This amp is easy to dial in the sound you want, easy to save, and easy to use. Unlike others I tried, when you start twisting the knobs, you clearly hear the difference with what you are doing, and can truly create a wide range of tone, which is what I wanted. If your'e looking for an amp crammed with effects, this is not it. If you want your own tone and have the effects you need, then this amp will make you happy.

If you are looking for a great sound and easy to use amplifier then place your order today for the Roland GO 112. Best sounding amp I have ever had. I've been playing professionally for 30 plus years. Absolutely love the amp. Whisper quiet for my studio recording and has all the power you need for live shows. I've used Roland products for years. This is by far the best product of theirs that I have ever used.

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

Bought it as a restock, but when it arrived, it was still wrapped in factory tape - very cool. Easy, easy to use. The thing I find most striking is how quiet this amp is, even at fairly ridiculous volume levels. I'm able to develop pinch harmonics with this amp that I've not been able to achieve previously. My comment about no headphone out is a minor quibble. I know it's developed specifically for stage/recording use, but sometimes living circumstances require that I not play amplified.

I bought the Gold coverage, too. I never had before, but I bought a used item from GC and on a whim, purchased the coverage. Turned out that I got a complete rebuild for $0 additional. My personal policy now is to purchase it for Used/Restock items. YMMV :-)

I run it in stereo with my Cyber-Twin v3, using an original US Stratocaster VG. My goodness, what a sound! GAS may have met it's match with this combination to tonal tasties.

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

Clearly a lot of amp for the money (I bought a flawless restock at a third less than the current sale price), but the tones are not that compelling, other than the cleans. I also have a Cube 30X which in my opinion has better distorted tones compared to what I can get out of this one. I guess I should spend some more time with this amp. Can't really complain though given what I paid for it.

I hate this thing. First, it's huge. I wanted a small, portable amp. This is not it. The sounds I get out of it are heavily processed and not at all natural. My Les Paul sounds awful through it. Sorry I bought it.

Comments about Roland GA-112 1X12 100W Guitar Combo Amplifier:

This amp is full of useful sounds. I have a desktop CUBE amp and had considered checking out one of the higher powered versions. With one of those amps it seem as though you'd be limited as far as channel switching and access to effects. This amp has two effects loops, both accessible through the foot controller, for your various effects. It has four programmable channels and a "Manual" setting so in essence it is a five channel amp. What more do you need? I've see some knocks against it due to low volume clean sounds, which is true, but if you want jazz clean, these sounds will work just fine- your generally not going to be playing loud jazz, right? The overdrive and distortion sounds are very usable and in most cases, outstanding. The amp also cleans up nicely when you back off the volume. I used a P-90 equipped guitar and had all I needed between 6 and 10. Overall, a very good purchase. Get the foot controller- you won't be sorry.

This is a really cool amp. It sounds great whether I'm playing very quietly or very loudly. Clean tone to highly distorted it does it all and it all sounds good. The GA-112 loves pedals and it's nice having two effect loops. The controls are intuitive so unlike other modeling amps you'll have this amp figured out in a few minutes, no manual needed. Saving your settings automatically when switching channels is awesome, there's no need to stop playing and push buttons to save a tone. I got the optional footswitch and expression pedals and they are well worth it. They allow you to control nearly everything on the amp with your feet while you play. This amp is an excellent value, I can gladly recommend it.
