Oh, the KC-150. I bought this amp when it first came out about 10 or so years ago. This amp served me well for many years. It was almost always powered on, and I threw pretty much everything at it; Bass guitar, Keyboards, and even had it hooked up as a monitor to my TOA 10 channel mixer for a while when I was between monitors. This amp NEVER let me down (unlike some of the gear that I have now). I made the mistake of selling it to "upgrade", and that upgrade has, in the course of a year, turned out to be a downgrade. I will tell you that at very high volumes it loses a little quality, but if you have a home recording studio and need an amp that can be mic'd or as a general use workhorse this amp is great. Bottom line: if you take care of it, it will take care of you. Highly recommended.

I purchased one of these Roland KC-150 units years ago, based largely on colleagues'opinions about this manufacturer. Also, the size and price seemed to fit my needs, which included home studio work and occasional performances, and my budget. However, I have to be honest; though it seemed to be the "cat's meow" out of the box, it started losing its punch and overall sound quality early on. That is, the sound became crackly with a bit of static within maybe a year of very mild use. After changing out cords and other potential culprets, I had it looked at. The verdict from the tech was, "it's simply worn out, these little guys just aren't made to last." Usually, when something goes out this quickly, you can say, "well, you get what you pay for," but I felt confident I had made a sound investment.I'm currently in the process or buying more studio equipment; I cannot swear that I will not make a second purchase from this manufacturer, but I can guaranty that it will not be this model.

Comments about Roland KC-150 Keyboard Combo Amp:

I can now enjoy all of the sounds that my high end Roland digital stage piano can generate. This amp can even clearly produce the sound of the highest pitch key (C8). The one thing that was unexpected was I initially had a background hum due to a ground loop. I had thought that the ground path inherent in the "balanced" (XLR) cable would prevent this. Solved the problem by running a external wire between the chassis of the keyboard and the amp.

Test it with your keybroad first

Comments about Roland KC-150 Keyboard Combo Amp:

Too bassy and too trebly for my new Yamaha CP4 keyboard. Turned the amp's EQ low and high completely off, and still too bassy and trebly. This amp may be okay with a cheaper, less inherently dynamic keyboard than the CP4. Demo this amp with your keyboard before you buy or you may be driving back to the store to return it.

Fantastic Sound! Great product for amplifying just about anything. I run fiddle, guitar, keyboard, and mandolin through it, and all sound good. Only one microphone input is the only limitation.

            I like it like that!!

Comments about Roland KC-150 Keyboard Combo Amp:

I started with one of this amps when I purchased my Yamaha YPG635. It sounded fine except I was missing the stereo sound. Then after about 15 months, I bought my Roland electronic drum set and connected it also to this amp. Again, I was missing the stereo sound. So, I decided to buy the second amp and connected the drum set to both of them (the Roland has a L & a R output) and now it is great. For the keyboard, I bought an adapter (1/4" stereo male to a (L) & (R) 1/4" males, and connected one to each amp. Now all is great!!! For my use, home studio, these two amps provide enough volume at 50% input and 50% output and I can also jam with my friends (two guitars and a bass) and we do not overshadow anybody and do not blow the house and our ears away. Great amp!!!

Comments about Roland KC-150 Keyboard Combo Amp:

I use the KC-150 through my laptop, bass, drums, keyboard, and guitar and everything sounds amazing! It isn't loud enough to play live, but it will fill my whole house with sound! Very nice amp, highly recommended. Buy it now.
