A New Prescription for Bass Tone, Power and Portability

Meet the MICRO CUBE RX Bass Combo Amp; it's small, loud, proud, and in true stereo! This amp overachieves with serious bombast in a small body. You won't believe how much this little combo can deliver through its stereo power amps and 4 newly developed custom speakers.

A New Prescription for Bass Tone, Power and Portability

This compact amp is equipped with high-quality, powerful sound. The cutting-edge speakers used in the MICRO CUBE BASS RX are custom designed and built specially for these amps. With two specially made power amps and four speakers contained in each, the RX amp produces an immersive, stereo sound that must be heard to be believed. The true stereo engine also allows bass tones that defy the size of the cabinet. This amp can run on battery or AC power (AC adaptor included).

COSM Amps & Digital Effects

Guitarists and bassists have come to rely on Roland and BOSS for the best effects in the world. The MICRO CUBE BASS RX benefit from this world-leading technology, offering eight built-in COSM amps, six digital effects, 3-band EQ, and a chromatic tuner. Its onboard stereo effects benefit from Roland's decades of industry-leading R&D. Experience the amazing spatial depth and lush sound of the stereo Chorus and Reverb.

Work on your Timing with the Rhythm Guide

The metronome is a music-student's best friend, but that numbing "clank, clank, clank" can get irksome. That's where the Rhythm Guide comes in handy. It's like having a drummer inside your amp. Choose from an assortment of groovin' patterns to practice with. Improve your timing while having a more enjoyable musical experience, or just have fun jamming along to the beats.

Outputs/Inputs
The Phones/Recording output serves two purposes: Plug in a set of headphones and enjoy private practice with lush, stereo sound, or plug directly into a stereo mixer or recording device for accurate signal transfer directly from this amp. It has a line input that lets you plug in a guitar, bass, or microphone. In addition, the stereo AUX input accepts input from an iPod, a CD player, or musical instrument so you can blend its signal with your own.

Features
  • Stereo power amplifiers and four newly developed 4" (10cm) speakers
  • Eight COSM amps, six digital effects
  • Rhythm Guide function for practical rhythm training
  • Stereo AUX input for CD/MP3 player Phones/Recording out
  • Battery driven (6 x AA, up to 13-hour continuous use)

Go anywhere and jam out with this combo amp! Order yours today!

I have been very pleased with this. It has an onboard Tuner, for standard tuning to a 6 string bass, 7 different bass models. A Flanger and Chorus effect dial. The Rhtym Guide is a drum mahine with 3 different accents per knob position. This can be controlled remotely with an A/B pedal. I love this thing. For being so small it packs a punch.
This amp is my all time favorite. I have many bigger amps, but this one lets me play wherever I want to. I take it on roadtrips, to the backstage before gigs, camping. It goes anywhere. The 6 AA batteries last up to 7 hours. It has a drum machine on board. I also use it to jam online with online jam sites. I have taken it to recording studios, too.
I have had my amp for 3 years. The only problem I have had is that the MP3 input jack has lost the left channel when I plug in the 1/8 inch stereo jack, but I don't blame the quality of the hardware, I had let my teenager use it to play her MP3 player when all of friends were hanging out, and I think somebody stepped on the cord. The Cube has held up very well.
I have never winced at the price of this thing, and it has been worth every cent. For as long as the 6 AA batteries last, I have no complaints there, either.

First of all, A bass amp shouldn't be this small or at least carry a speaker smaller than 8 inches. The reason being that all bass amps I've played with a speaker smaller than 8 inches usually cannot handle the low end frequencies at mid to uppper volume range. This amp has some added goodies, but unless you use headphones, they cannot be head loud enough, it is a good "bedroom" amp as someone mentioned previously, like for afterhours at night. If you want a small quality amp with a lot of beef, I'd say Line 6's LowDown 110 is the best deal, 10" speaker housed by nothing more than a box surrounding it, making it the most compact 10" combo amp with 4 effects built in + a nice set of EQs and external inputs for live shows (for PAs and such stuff) and with a whopping 75 watts you cannot go wrong. I own one and it's the beefiest small packaged amp I've ever played without any technical problems. The cost is about the same as this amp and the size is about the same if not smaller than this amp. To me this isn not worth it, but i will say this about Roland: They do make some of the best Synthesizers and effect pedals. Their synth amps are also very good. They are not known for guitar/bass amplification as much. Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps some of you deciding on choosing this Roland product. If you really love Roland so much for their amps, then hey it's your choice, but you get what you pay for, and here it's not THE bass amp, it's the features and size that you're paying for, which are nice, I didn't say they're not, but you want lots of low end, this amp isn't for you. This is only good for very low volumes.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

I use it for flash band events we do around town for free. No time to flake around looking for electricity, period. If everything else is acoustic and I still can't hear my Breedlove, I'm not happy. I couldn't do what we do without some source of bass power. This Roland uses 6 AA batteries. For what it is, come on. It gives me that little edge so the drummer actually hears me and dosen't have to invent my sound in his head and I fill the between just under the guitars. My real amp is a MarkBass too, but this it hits that sweet spot no others are.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

It has a lot of options, sounds ok, though not too good.
        It's a bit muddy,
It's way, way, way too soft (low in volume). It's good enough for the perfect quiet bedroom, but as soon as a wall AC unit is on, or anything larger, it's not very audible.
It can sound punchy, but it certainly doesn't feel punchy.

It's small, but not loud. My Markbass Micromark is over 10x louder, but has less options.

It has a 9v adaptor, I had hoped they would use a more commercially available 12V connection, so you could hook it up to your car battery.

Overall, I find it's low volume a real killer.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

I was casting around for a small, portable amp to use with our bluegrass band. Everyone else is acoustic; I am an electric bassist (Hofner). We do a number of "strolling" gigs as well as parties and small functions that may be "off the grid". My local music shop recommended I try the Roland Micro Cube and I couldn't be happier! Once I got used to the controls I was able to closely imitate an acoustic bass sound with adequate, clean volume that complements the rest of the band (guitar, fiddle, dobro and mando or banjo). I have yet to use it as stage monitor while sending a signal directly to a PA system, but I have no doubt it will be up to the challenge. Battery life is very good. If I can offer one useful bit of advice, don't expect thunderous response from the lowest notes (bottom "E" up to about "C") without a little flutter, but if you don't punch those notes too hard you'll be quite satisfied with the overall sound. It was far more than I had expected, and with some experimenting you can get a pretty amazing range of sounds using the various effects that come standard on the unit. I am one VERY satisfied customer!

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

Played acoustic bass guitar for an old timey banjo and fiddle group that very often played totally acoustic, at street fairs, farm markets, open field, no electric etc. Had enough volume for those events, very long battery life, would last through about a half dozen 2 hour gigs with practices in between. Modeling sounds were great, but only used a couple. Using the flange effect could make the bass guitar sound more like an acoustic stand up bass. If it was a bigger performnce, you could output into a PA and still have all your personal adjustments at hand. Or you could mike it. Puts out a nice deep bass sound this way - better than just running strait into a PA. Also makes an excellent acoustic guitar amp capable of pushing much more volume than with the bass

The Micro Cube Bass RX is battery powered and allows for use in extended jams where commercial power isn't available. The cube allows bassists to jam with other acoustic instruments and actually be heard. I was pleasantly surprised by the volume, bottom end and versitality of tones.

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

I've found it fun to practice with. The drums are nice. The effects are also cool. I have taken it on camping trips and because it works with the batteries you can play through it any where. My wife plays piano so we often take our instruments and play outside at a picnic bench. The amp has been trouble free. The batteries don't last a real long time, but you can also plug it in with the adapter that comes with it. I never expected to use this amp like my mark bass and to expect it would be ridiculous. I am very happy with this little amp

            Bass Practicing Tool

            By ClasRoc85

            from Undisclosed

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

I believe this to be an indespensible practice tool for a novice, intermediate or professional bass player. WIth a built in metronome/drum machine one can practice and improve technique with various styles of music. Also with the aux input pluging in a mp3 player or connecting to a PC/Labtop one can play along to any music library or YouTube video. The quality of sound that comes from the amp is definitely not hi-fi or studio quality by any means, but for playing "silently" or quietly in an apartment, on the tour bus or in the dressing room this is an exceptional tool. I have only two complaints about this amp. If an amp has a built in tuner, it should function properly. If the amp also had a LCD readout display for the BPM on the drum machine it would be easier to replicate the previous practice session or to play the same song at a later date. My brother also owns this amp and takes it camping to play along side an acoustic guitar, afterall it can operate on 6 AA batteries! Overall a very cool amp and I have yet to see any other piece of bass equipment for the money that is as useful while practicing without a band or in between gigs.

            Definitely NOT Showtime

            By Martin Cohen

            from San Francisco Bay Area

Comments about Roland Micro Cube Bass RX Bass Combo Amp:

I wa hoping to get a portable amp that I could use with my U-Bass, but this isn't it. I tried all manner of combinations with passive P-bass, active P-Deluxe, U-Bass, but could not get a true bass response. No volume above a whisper without distortion.
Until Roland improves the frequency response to address true low end, don't waste your money on this amp.
I was very disappointed in the performance of the (4) 2.5" speakers - they just could not handle the low end. Roland would have done better to put one 10" speaker in it.
This amp is advertised as "loud, proud", etc, but I found it to be low volume, distorted and the speakers far below acceptible for bass. Anything below C was distorted.
How did this poor speaker quality get past Roland? You can get more bass response out of a boom box, Roland's engineering design team should have done a better job.
Thank you Musicians Friend for your return policy.
Neat to have all the effects and the metronome, but you can still do better with a Digitech and earphones.
