This pedalboard delivers. I read some of the negative comments about this pedalboard but I have not experienced any of them. It worked the first time I pligged it in. I play this through a Crate Half Stack using a couple of Fender Stratocasters and they sound great. Pedals include a Vox Wah, Boss T-Wah, Boss Comp/Sus, Hardwire Metal Distortion, Boss DF-2, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Boss Bf-2, Ibanez Pt9 Phaser and Boss DD-2 in that order with lots of room to add more if chose. When I am not playing, it's relatively silent. Fair warning though, this is built like a Mack Truck so it's heavy...eat your wheaties! I love this thing!!

I've owned this board for a few years and have had plenty of great experiences with it. It fits the 10 pedals I use comfortably and has proven to be very durable on the road. That being said, the pedalboard DOESN'T have ISOLATED power and therefore can produce an annoying droning hum at all times depending on what pedals you use. I wouldn't recommend using this board unless it is given to you for free or you are a beginner looking to experiment with pedals.

Best choice for large footprint powered pedal board!

Ask me a question

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

If you need a large pedalboard with a hardshell case, cover, power and input/output panel - this is the one to get. All the other positive reviews this case has online is backup for my positive review.
I compared all the options for pedal boards and chose the SKB PS-45 because of these reasons:
1. I own other SKB products and love their quality, warranty and forward-thinking designs
2. I needed as large an area as I could get that also allows the pedals to stay connected and in place for extremely quick on and off stage situations.
3. I wanted to eliminate my power cord mess
4. I wanted i/o options for various configurations and uses
The PS-45 is an excellent pedalboard. It is heavy even when no pedals are in it, it is large (should probably have some luggage-type wheels on one corner, imo) The latches are solid, the handle seems adequate but with the warranty, if anything breaks, SKB will take care of it. When I have it full of pedals, it is very heavy for this 145 lb, 5'7" female. Regardless, due to the ease of setup/teardown and relief from anxiety that a cable or pedal would be left behind or taken from the stage, I will lug this monster around with a smile on my face. Make sure you buy some right angle cables...or do what I did, buy the 1/4" right angle adapters if you already have all your cables...
Simply cannot beat SKB for design, durabilty and function. I rarely even consider other brands. Hinges and latches are solid, velcro is durable and they include velcro for your pedals and power cables.
The price equals the quality and the warranty, it equals the benefits and functions. Good value? Yes!

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

Actually I bought this pedalboard for my son who has been out on the ~Hard Way Musical Road~
most of the last three years... I know it's a hassle sometimes when your out there, whether it be time constraints at venues, or just hauling in the gear. Here is where the PS-45 is the answer. You can buy a pretty nice suitcase to haul your stomp boxes, and pedals at Good Will, or Salvation Army, or put it all together in a nice neat near indestructable powered pedalboard. I've seen the PS-45, and have been told buy some great guitarist that it's the Best thing going right now.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

The PS-45 is a good pedalboard with a number of strengths but there are better options at a similar price. The case is super sturdy - probably the best aspect of the board. I used the patch bay and never had any problems with it. The power supplies are not isolated so it's possible to experience some noise. I also had one of the power supplies stop working. The wall outlets are great for plugging in different kinds of effects.

After using a PS-45 for a few years, I switched to a Pedaltrain Pro powered by Voodoo Labs supplies. For a very similar price you can get a Pedaltrain with gig bag (not as sturdy as the PS-45 case but durable enough for the vast majority of applications) and a Pedal Power 2. That allows you to have isolated power and to run you patch cables under the board. No matter how tidy I tried to make my PS-45, it always looked messy. I love my Pedaltrain - only wish I had made the switch sooner.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

Should have boult this years ago. Go big, so you can add pedals. Better investment that way.
Very nice & has good instructions. Only complaint if any, is no power switch. So, the whole thing powers up when you plug it in.

Nice little DC cables incl to save buying batteries all the time. One cable goes to the 9V battery port inside a stomp box - in case there's no DC plug on that pedal - only one of these - the other 8 are normal DC cables that plug into yout stomp boxes. Velcro strip also included, if you want to hold things in place.

You can go out into two amps and also have stereo effects loop going in the background outside your pedal chain.
Some reviewer said it had a weak floor - it does not. It's a solid place to stomp. The whole systrem is built very nicely - VERY RUGGED!
This is worth well more than it's listed for. Get one while you can! SKB never let me down yet!

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

if your looking for a pedal board, and you have the money, buy this board. you won't be dissapointed. i do a lot of gigging and for the ammount of pedals i use the size is great. this things gets tossed around quite a bit and still rocks. look no more this is the right product.
Couldn't be more satisfied with this board. super duarble, and plenty of room for all the pedals i use. built in power supply is probably the best part. comes with adapter cables for pedals and velcro to keep them in place.
Super duarable. lifetime warranty. nuff said.
a bit exspensive, but you cant beat how well made they are, and the built in power supply. totally worth the money.

GREAT FOR WHAT IT IS MEANT FOR!

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I use it at every show i play at. I have 13 pedals on it and they all fit perfectly without a problem. I am very glad that I bought this. The lifetime warrenty also won me over. If anything goes wrong, you can just send it back in. The pedals I have on it are a route 66, ernie ball volume, cry baby, ds-1, os-2, boss chorus, ibanez tube screamer, line 6 dl4, marshall jcm 2000 dsl amp switch, mesa boogie triple rectifier amp switch, quad box, garage tone delay, boss dd-7. I also run a boss gt-10 by itself to the side of the board. It's not like that really needs to be on a pedal board anyway. It does the job and has never caused me any problems!
Who can argue with a build in power system that not only powers you pedals, but lines out to your amps?
Only thing that bothers me is how weak the floor of it is when stepped on.
Worth every penny spent. I had a trailer trash board plus a voodoo power lab. This is easy on the wallet and is just as good.

    A Big Pallete

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

Having started with cheap pedals, I moved to digital effect / workstations for a while, then discovered that too much frosting was ruining my cake, so I went back to mix & match pedals... I wanted something that could handle all of the various sizes and arrangements and re-arrangements that I was bound to go through in looking for my favorite setup. Shopped, visited myriad forums, other players, custom shops etc... for something that was going to let me play, grow, and not box me into one layout, I wanted the best of all-options, because change is inevitable... This board gave me that where few others did, and without DIY-ing myself to-death. I want to create music, not shelving...I've owned it for a few years now, and have no regrets at all... It's a bit to haul around from room-to-room, but that I can keep my configurations mapped and can easily pull a pedal or two to play with by themselves makes up for that...Simple, rugged, roomy, self-contained, and versatile... If that's what you want then I'd recommend this...

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I have owned this board for 3 months and it is very well built. It comes with different types of electrical cables and this proved useful as I have 2 pedals from the 80's. It is large enough to fit 8-12 pedals depending on the ones you own and the elecrical outlets are usefule if you need to connect another power supply. It also has the ability to connect 2 amps to it. My only 2 issues are minor, one is that the velcro does not stick to the pedals well enough, even after they have been throughly cleaned and the other is I am a bit of a neat freak and the wires and electrical cables are difficult to control the way they look. I have tie wraps and velcro trying to tame the way they look. Overall this is best board I have seen available and I would recommend this board. I happy with the purchase.

      I love my pedalboard

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I've had this over a year, I don't write reviews about things until I have trod them close to the ground. I have never had any problems with this pedalboard. One thing you might notice when you first get it is that it is difficult to get closed and open, but the more you do that, the easier it gets. It does NOT overheat at all like other boards I have owned. Power supplies for pedals still work, no problems at all there.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I spent a while looking and reading about all the different pedal boards out there. After narrowing it down to a few, I then went to find them to get the hands on perspective. The SKB PS45 won out hands down. 10 out of 10 from my point of view. This is a well thought out accessory for us stompers. Plenty of room for the Morely wah or volume style pedals. On board 9v and 110v power. More looping options than you could need. Quiet, rugged, secure and saves me a lot of time.As someone else had stated, the looping and patching configuration instructions could use more beef, but the problem is they could be endless. Mine is set up with my amp loop totally different than anything shown in the instructions. You just have to set it down, think it out, and try some variations that work for your setup.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

This thing is MASSIVE, not only is there plenty of space for all the pedals, it includes a huge power conditioner with a circuit breaker to protect itself and your pedals. Comes with the mini power cords and the velcro stips. Pedalboards this big usually cost almost this much and you still have to buy the power brick, velcro and mini cords. It also has the 3 spaced out outlates for anything else you need! The ONLY thing that would make this better is if 1 or 2 of the mini powers had an 18 volt instead of them all being 9v. But it's still got the outlates, so the one 18v pedal I have I just plug it into one of those. The SKB Cases are the best, they're made for the military to transport all of their electronic equipt! The case comes with a life time warrenty! This thing is so good im making sure I beef up my playing, if you walk into a club somewhere with this thing people will expect your bad ass!

I got this thing a week ago and all I can say is wow. See I'm used to my pedals all over the place and using two multi outlets to get everything powered. This pedalboard is great and it comes with everything you need to use everything (velcro, cables to the power supply). One more thing, the fx line cleans up your signal, I usually get hum whenever I play but when I connected to this thing, it's completley silent.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I just upgraded from a GT-8(which I do NOT reccomend) to using all single effects and this board does an awesome job of keeping everything together, protected, etc. The only thing I don't like is that it comes with a certain number of power cables and I haven't found where to get any more - for instance - if you have more Ehx pedals than boss pedals you need more 1/8" power cables. This is easily solved by looking around for adapters. GREAT BOARD! waaaay cheaper than the furman that's the same size and has the same features.

Comments about SKB PS-45 Professional Pedalboard:

I bought this pedal board earlier this year and absoluetly love it. I tour with my band and play many gigs and this thing is defintly built for the road. One problem i had was the handle broke off of it after my buddy dropped it, but because of the guarentee, SKB sent me a brand new handle to attach. The power supply built in is an amazing feature and the cord is long enough to reach most outlets on most stages, overall- im going to purchase a second one to carry the rest of my pedals because it is great for transporting and keeping all my pedals in place.

I have only a couple minor complaints. I'd love for them to pose some suggestions for using the effects loops and explain how it differs from using the loop on an amp. Instead, when you get the board, there are 2 configurations provided with almost-incoherent graphics (I feel color blind when I look at it). They could also provide more than 1 9v plug adapter. But you cannot beat the product for the price. I look forward to not having to setup my pedals and break them down everytime I go to play somewhere.

Also, I throw all my cables in it when transporting. It is very stoat, and I do not see anything becoming a problem, other than my concern over the handle.
