this is one of the best amp out there, the clean is just amazing, the best one in an high gain amp, the crunch channel is butter, and the overdrive is articulate and beautiful!!! dont waste your money looking another amp, this is the guy!!!

Needed an amp that would cut through the mix. The Decatone has done that! Everything you have read is TRUE! This head has fantastic tone and is very durable. How many amps offer a lifetime warranty?? I play in a 80's type cover band. The 3 channel feature is what I was looking for. The Decatone does not get that shrill sound many Marshall's have. The amp is unforgiving, you will learn to play better because each note is heard. I bought this amp without ever hearing it. All music stores seem to carry is $300 multi simulators. I checked out a few Boogie's, they were not for me. I narrowed it down to Bogner and Soldano. Took the chance...and am VERY pleased!!Features I have given it a 4. I base this on one set of 3 EQ parameters that work on all three channels. For this price, you'd expect to see independent EQ's for each channel. However, it works!! The amp could have no EQ, it's that good. Also, you might expect to see on board Reverb. Funny thing is hat the head sounds better with less effects. Which brings me to the effects loop. This is tricky...regular pedals do no run well in the loop. I will totally drain the tone. The solution for me was to add a TC electronic Nova System. You need the +4db for the loop. I'm no expert on the science of why...I just know regular pedals rob the tone. Value - Without asking, I have had 3 sound men in the last month tell me the tone is great. Nuff said.Overall I would absolutely buy again if needed!!

I fell in love with Soldano tone when they released the Avenger head about 10 years ago. The Decatone is a great do-everything head with more options then the higher priced SLO. This head has the SLO sound, is footswitchable to clean, and has an added boost channel for soloing, not just a button.All boutique amps are pricey, but Soldano is rather reasonably priced compared to high-end Marshall, or other small companies. And Soldano builds these by hand. Even the effects loops are all-tube!

I have owned mine for at least 7 years and I still love it. I toured HARD with it for the first few years. Didn't even have a road case for it and it never let me down. I have toured the Soldano factory and seen the way these are built. ( like tanks ) The tones out of this amp are amazing and the EQ is so smooth and accurate. Sure its expensive but you will never have to buy another head as long as you live! It sounds best through a soldano cab but I use mine through a marshall and it still rocks!

So I bought one of these over the Internet, not really knowing how they sound. When it came in and I unpacked it, I could tell straight away that this thing was the best build quality. Man, Soldano builds them the best.So the first thing I did was check out the clean channel and man that was the first big surprise. Oh it sounded so damned good. Fenders would be jealous of it. No kidding, the cleans are THAT good!Then I got to the crunch channel. You know how people say that Soldanos sound like you wish Marshalls could, well that was exactly my first impression. The most awesome crunch channel you can find.Boom, then the third channel. Oh man, high-gain bliss.This amp comes with 3 bright switches, presence (sparkle), depth (lows), and a shared EQ. Let me tell you, there is absolutely NO reason to worry about a shared EQ. I don't know how Soldano does it but it just works perfectly.I keep the bright switches on all the channels all the time. I use a 2x12 cab loaded with Celestion V30s and it sounds incredible.This amp is incredible and probably the best kept secret in amps. I thought I would still crave an SLO but this amp killed that craving. I've found my sound and I love it.

Man...this thing rocks. Very expensive however. I got it even though I could not afford it. My wife is very proud. Let me tell you I have absolutely no regrets, because this thing sounds better than any amp I have ever had the chance to hear anywhere. I run it through a Kustom-custom shop 412 with Vintage 30's. Tonal bliss. I gave it a 4.5 on the features because it lacks reverb which would seal the deal for best amp on earth if it had it. 5.0 on the value becasue like they say you get what you pay for. It's built like a tank...I don't think you could destroy it if you threw it as far as you could. And the attention to detail is crazy-amazing. NOTHING out of place or wrong on this baby. Three channels, perfect. The clean channel is awesome for such a high gain amp and the effects loop is user friendly so it's easy to add a pedal to it like reverb or delay. The crunch channel is better than any crunch I've ever heard, with great distortion that is harmonically rich from 1 to 11. Yes the knobs go to 11. Like a JCM 800 Marshall on steroids. Balsy blues to enough gain to please most metal heads on this channel alone. And the overdrive channel, forget it Mesa, Marshall, VHT, Engl, etc....you lose. Just super rich sounds out of this channel with note to note defintion with the preamp gain at 11. Hard to describe the distortion sound....it's all Soldano and really does not sound like any other amp. Plus the customer support is first rate...an actual person will answer your calls and emails and they actually know what they are talking about. Overall, this is expensive at first glance but if you think about it it's cheap in the long run if you never have to buy another amp because your tone quest ended here like me. And I'm sure this will last more than a life time. My kids will most likely have this someday as will my grandkids. One more thing....this comes with a footswitch that is built just as well as the amp. It's all heavy gauge steel and came with a lifetime warranty Hosa cable. And as for the one year warranty on this amp, Soldano says they are liberal with it and if you happen to have something go wrong with it and it's their fault, they will fix it even if it's out of warranty. Try to get that somewhere else. Hand built made in America quality....can't beat it.

This amp is amazing, you will absolutely love it. I've owned my Soldano Decatone now for about a year and can say it is the best sounding/performing amp I've ever owned or played through. Dont let the price push you away, you get what you pay for with this amp. Until you play through one of these, it cant be fully apprecited. Do yourself a favor, and check one out!Seriously... amazing amp. I've owned 3 different marshalls, a laney, 2 crate amps, one roland, and played through about every imaginable combination of tube/solid state amps out there (including hybrids and rack pre-amps)This is the best and last amp you'll ever buy.

I've owned this amp for 7 years and it continues to blow me away. Best tone I've EVER heard from a 3 channel amp. Huge versatility. It really brings out the sound of each guitar. Great effects loop. Hand built in the USA! I'll never need another amp.
