OVERVIEW

Plenty of power and versatility for any gig.

The 1650RT Royal Reverb is the flagship tube amplifier of the Supro line. This retro-modern masterpiece updates the mid-'60s classic with an all-tube feature set designed to deliver superior sonic flexibility and ample headroom along with enough stage volume to handle any gig.

The blue rhino hide tolex, compact physical dimensions and fundamental circuit topology are all derived from the original 2×10 Supro Royal Reverb combo amplifier. Like its vintage counterpart, the new Royal Reverb’s power tube tremolo comes after the reverb pan, lending an ethereal shake and wobble to the enveloping wash of tube-driven spring reverb.

Independent treble and bass controls in the preamp provide enhanced tonal control while Supro's unique, 3-way switchable power scheme allows the musician to coax a wide variety of texture from the 6L6-fueled power amp. The 35-Watt Class A (Cathode Bias) and 45-Watt Class AB (Grid Bias) modes both deliver the more spongy character of the 5U4 tube rectifier while the 60-Watt Class AB mode makes use of a silicon rectifier to achieve faster transient response with maximum available headroom and volume.

The unique Class A / Class AB switchability of the Royal Reverb model effectively equips this amp with two distinct tremolo voices. Set to Class A mode, the tremolo is pure vintage Supro, with its distinctive asymmetrical rhythm and overall depth dependant on how hard the output tubes are being pushed. Set to Class AB mode, the tremolo gets much deeper, with greater symmetry and overall range of amplitude modulation.

The Supro Royal Reverb carries a long, six-spring reverb pan with all-tube reverb drive; recovery stages provide warm and smooth reverb that “surrounds the note.” From subtle ambience to massive splashing surf madness, the Royal Reverb lives up to its name in every way.

Comments about Supro 1650RT Royal Reverb 35W 2x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Never got around to writing a review for this amp - had it for a year or so. Great tone and simple to use. It just goes to show that you don't require a lot of knobs and switches to achieve that stellar tone. Humbuckers, mini-humbuckers, P-90s, and single-coil (Fender telecaster) pickups all sound superb through this amp. I've also purchased the 1624T Dual-Tone, S6420 Thunderbolt, and 1695T Black Magick). Love their products - nice to see an American company delivering a top notch quality product.

This amp has a terrific sounding reverb and tremolo. You can dial in some very impressive tones with the treble and bass controls. The dual 10 inch speakers are a great match for this 35 watt powerhouse - plenty of volume.. Similar to the other Supros I own, the more you dig in, the better they sound.

Everything about this amp is top quality - solid construction - flawless performance.

It's no secret. M/F has some killer sale promotions, which is why I continue to purchase products from them - plus they always have the equipment that I'm interested in, which the brick and mortar shops lack.

Comments about Supro 1650RT Royal Reverb 35W 2x10 Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

After trying out a whole bunch of tube combo amps - including 3 Fenders, namely the '65 reissue,
the '68 reissue and the Vibrolux - I then gave the Supro Royal a try, and was immediately struck by the clarity, punch and warmth it had, by way of comparison to the other amps. I noticed it also had more depth than the others, and was more than capable of ballsy, overdiven sounds - with or without decent pedals - and thankfully, free of that horrible mushy, compressed distortion one so often experiences with lesser quality amps.
It also boasts 3 power settings, which is another cool feature: 35 watts class A, 45 watts class AB, and 60 watts class AB, making it suitable for a wide variety of different siuzed venues.
Just to make sure I wasn't imagining any of these sonic traits, I asked a couple of other musicians, who were present, to give the Supro a try, which they did, and they both came to the same conclusion as me.
At that point I was sold!
So, if you're in the market for a great tube combo amp, I highly recommend you check this one out and also the rest of the Supro line.
