I"m on my second one and have been playing these for 10 years. I use an Alembic FX-1 tube preamp and Carvin power amp with it. It is THE best rig I"ve ever heard and I get compliments on it all the time.The only negative thing I can say is that I've had to replace all of the dust caps. I did store it in a garage in Michigan winters, so who knows? This is the best mid sized cabinet out there. I say this because I really love the Mega Goliath, just don't want to haul a refridgerator. I have also heard from drummers that they prefer the side throw of this cabinet over any other and I have had countless guitar players rave about it's tone .

I own the Goliath III 8 ohm, made before SWR was bought out by Fender, and i gotta say this cab is awesome! i originally had it hooked up to a SWR SM-400 but it broke down, and ive been wiring my hartke combo amp through it and this cabinet has TONS upon TONS of punch and low end! i mean this thing CUTS through. i hook a fender jazz bass up to and it adds tons of mid-range to my sound, i dont think i could play without it!

This cab is amazing. so much that i've only used half of what it can handle. great tone very rugged and beautiful. i'm powering the 4 ohm version with a shuttle 6.0 genz benz amp, these two combined give out a lot of boom. i play with it at church. its sad having so much power and not being able to use it. you know how old people get. complaints do not only come from senior citizens at my church, my band members tell me to turn it down a bit because they "cant hear themselves". i recommend this for everybody out there, but do take in consideration if all this power is for you.

I bought one of these to replace an Ampeg B Series cabinet I had been playing through for a couple of years. I went ahead an purchased this without ever playing through it, as SWR cabinets have a good reputation. As soon as I the first note, I was floored by how awesome it sounded. It is plenty loud, and has a great tone. This would be especially good for rock and metal bassists, as it has good crunch in the low end, without sacrificing clarity of the highs. I play it with a Genz Benz 750, and Spector basses and couldn't be more pleased.

I have a SWR Goliath III 4 ohm version which I use in stereo mode with my swr sm 900 along with a swr son of Bertha 4 ohm version. The Goliath III responds well no matter what I throw at it. The tweeter brings out the highs fro slapping on the bass I highly recommend this cab.

I have played bass fot over 40 yrs and have owned every brand of speakers that has been out there, and I have never used a cab so small that has so much bottom and top end all at the same time. It is hard to believe that so much sound comes out of that 4 X 10 cab. It is worth every dollar I payed for it. If I ever need another speaker it will be a SWR Goliath IV.
