Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
I've used many of different distortion devices over the years (30+ as a professional musician) and this Alberta overdrive is one of the best sounding blues distortion pedals on the market. Feed it with single coil or humbucker - it rocks from simple boost function to growl and bite!

Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
I've done studio work for years. I love this pedal. It is extremely quiet and has a very warm sound on any setting. It seems to really enhance a tube amp. It perfect for rock and blues. If you looking for extreme distortion you might want to add another pedal along with the "Alberta" It compliments other pedals very well. Just set the gain on the "Alberta" about half way and let the alternative pedal cover the extreme distortion.

Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
To be frank the gain is limited, however the throaty mids and the great sound it has is amazing.
The Alberta is a different flavor of the Way Huge Green rhino OD pedal.
The Green Rhino is a brighter sounding nice OD and its gain is limited to medium ranges.
Im telling you the Alberta has it where it counts, the tone is fantastic at all settings.
I tried pushing the Green Rhino with the Alberta and savage sustain and gain they produced is for recording pro studio quality tones !
The notes were thick and textured and pleasing and no harshness ,just fantastic !
It works with other pedals I found out !
I got a good deal at MF stupid deal !
Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
First of all, this is definitely an OVERDRIVE pedal, not distortion. It is marketed incorrectly, but I've got to say that this does really classy overdrive, sounds exactly like a quality tube amp braking up.The overdrive is subtle, perhaps too subtle, and so even with the gain turned to full you won't get much more than slightly gritty chords with a clean amp on. Great for leads though, a very transparent tone (so obviously this won't make a cheap guitar sound a million dollars, only buy this if you are happy with the sound you get anyway). The casing seems pretty solid but not as solid as, say, a ProCo Rat (which last a life time), and the tone control is very close to the switch, so you have to be a little careful. I haven't had it long, so I've yet to see if it stands up to being gigged.Basically, this could not be my only dirt pedal, because the overdrive is very light, so I'd want a distortion pedal as well as this, but it does what it does very well. However, be warned that this is definitely NOT distortion!
Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
I have used a tube screamer with a modified chip and it was good. However it still kind of "masked" the tone. But when I tried the t-rex alberta, forget it. Beautiful smooth "transparent" distortion. If you like the tone of Allan Holdsworth or Eric Johnson, the t-rex alberta is really good for fine tuning your overall sound.
Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
easy to use and the sound well lets just say that when this walks into the room... it chews up the ts 808 and the original tubescreamers and spits them out. This is THE overdrive/blues pedal that you have dreamed about. It's a keeper.
Comments about T-Rex Engineering Alberta Distortion Pedal:
I like this pedal. If you like the distorted tone of players like Allan Holdsworth or Eric Johnson, this pedal is transparent enough to let your hands produce the sound you want without all the extra fur. NOT FOR AMATEURS!
