Comments about TC Electronic BC212 2x12 Bass Speaker Cabinet:
Now that TC has brought prices to more reasonable levels, metal guitarists can use this cab for low tunings and sick distortion. If you despise the flabby flatulent sound of ported cabs... (as you should) ...then plug that rear port with a cylindrical foam block. That will also keep spiders from infesting your cab when you're not looking. You might not think spiders could stand to live in a loudspeaker. You'd be wrong. Inside any rectangular box like this, there are nodes where sound frequencies cancel out because of standing waves. Any creature as small as a spider will immediately migrate to those places when the music starts. Why do I write about spiders? When you get bit by a brown recluse that lived inside your ported cab, you'll understand. The resonant frequency of these Eminence speakers is around 52 to 56 hz, which is not low enough for a great bass speaker without a ported cab, but is plenty low enough for guitarists, even when using drop tunings or 7 strings. Bottom line... you can make this thing sound great for metal distortion guitar. Plug that hole, then rock and roll.
