OVERVIEW

Brings back the studio-quality acoustic guitar tone that gets lost in the translation by most under-saddle pickups.

The sound of resonating wood is what gives an acoustic guitar its particular sonic allure “ something that doesn™t always translate well when you amplify an acoustic instrument using a piezo pickup system. BodyRez is designed to restore the natural acoustic resonance of your instrument when using under-saddle pickups, BodyRez gives you a more natural sound simply with the turn of a single knob. Getting great acoustic tone couldn't possibly be easier, with harmonic bliss now just a stomp away.

True To Your Timbre
There's nothing more captivating than the natural rich and crisp sound of an acoustic guitar. Sadly, most acoustic pickups take that full three-dimensional sound and make it flatter and more uninviting than a burned pancake. This is where BodyRez comes in. With BodyRez it's like having your own personal pro audio engineer along with you at all times, making sure that you sound your best all while eliminating potential feedback traps. Once you plug this pedal in, you're going to wonder how you ever lived without it!

The Complex Made Simple
Even though BodyRez emanates simplicity with its one dial design, there's tons of cool things going on under the hood. BodyRez applies a vast amount of pre-configured filters combined with subtle quick compression in order to bring your amplified acoustic tone back to life. All of these factors have been painstakingly measured and meticulously selected to help bring out all that's good about your instrument. So all you have to do is turn it on and start wowing the crowd.

Feelin™ Alright
When you play your acoustic guitar at home everything just feels right. The tone, the response, the natural ambiance - it's all there. But on stage and plugged into a PA, it's a whole different story. BodyRez restores that natural feeling of you playing your guitar, acoustically opposed to that super sensitive and nervous feel you get when using a piezo system.

FEATURES
Built-in feedback suppression
Restores natural playing feel
Ultra-compact design
True bypass

This little guy is nothing short of amazing.

For years, I used a multi-fx unit to make it easy to switch between acoustic and electric guitars. The trade-off is that neither sounds as good as it could. Now I play almost all acoustic, though, so I wanted to simplify and optimize my stage rig for the best possible acoustic tone. Chain is now a Boss TU-3 tuner >>> BodyRez >>> Keeley Vibe-O-Verb (for fingerstyle stuff). The BodyRez AC adapter powers it all.

My main performance guitars have Fishman Matrix Infinity pickups, which are reliable and feedback resistant but prone to the dreaded "piezo honk." The BodyRez does a great job of mitigating that, and generally gives me a more natural-sounding tone through the PA. It's noticeably fuller and crisper, with more punch on the low end.

I also feel like I have more dynamic range. We don't have a drummer, so my rhythm playing has to fill that role as well. With the BodyRez in my chain, I can get more snap on palm muted riffs, and full-on open-chord strumming sounds rich and full.

To get a feel for how to set the level control, I recorded the same rhythm riff back to back eight times: dry, and with the knob at seven different positions. Then I played them back, picked the one I liked best, and set the knob to that. I haven't touched it since.

We use in-ear monitors. A nice side benefit is that my guitar sounds better to me in the IEMs with the BodyRez vs my old rig.

You're still better off with a good condenser mic for recording. But for on stage through a PA or full-range amp, BodyRez is fantastic. Highly recommended.

All I want is to amplify the sound of my acoustic guitar as accurately as possible. After reading all of the reviews, I was hoping the BodyRez would do that. I tried it with an Ovation Elite with a piezo saddle pickup through a Fishman Loudbox mini amp and I still got the the dreaded "quack". I was unable to find any setting of the BodyRez and amp EQ that sounded good. I also tried it with my Martin D28 with a Fishman sound hole pickup into the Loudbox mini with the same result. I also tried it with a Seagull S6 CW with a LL Bags piezo with no luck. Then I tried the same guitars with a Fender blackface amp....which was worse. In my opinion, the BodyRez did not deliver as expected. It did offer some compression and added some upper end EQ, but I thought the guitar plugged directly into the amp sounded much better.

Comments about TC Electronic BodyRez Acoustic Enhancer Guitar Effects Pedal:

I play a Taylor, and even the Expression System can use some help when you are in a live situation, playing through a PA. Many of the other "preamp" type options out there are great, but cost 200 - 300. This box warms up the sound, adds some compression, and just sounds fantastic!

Dead simple to use, as it has one adjustment knob. Footswitch turns the unit off/on, but with a hold can mute the signal for guitar changes. Also has the ability to switch the phase in order to get rid of low-end feedback in some situations.

Bottom line, the Body Rez is just another example of the innovative folks at TC Electronics. Love this pedal, and it has earned a spot on my pedalboard!

Comments about TC Electronic BodyRez Acoustic Enhancer Guitar Effects Pedal:

One knob. Dial in as much tone as you can handle. You can turn it off, but why? I just leave mine ON. For those with high end acoustic guitars (or any piezo-equipped acoustic, for that matter) playing through mediocre sound systems...this pedal levels the playing field. The tone factor increases exponentially when playing through higher fidelity systems. Page, Petty? Yep, you get that crisp, subtly-rounded, slightly compressed richness that I've craved since 1965. Get this, you won't regret the investment in TONE!

Just tried this pedal for the first time this morning. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Almost all of my acoustic guitars (9) have passive K&K Pure Mini pickups installed. I have an array of pre-amps some of which are were quite pricey and all sound great but this one is the simplest and best sounding of all of them and at this price point you just can't go wrong. I play professionally and will now play nowhere without this pedal.

My buddy plugged in his twelve string Taylor and it came alive! I am ordering another to use with my wife's mandolin.

Bonus: My tuner pedal causes a "pop" when engaged and disengaged, and the BodyRez's mute function allows me to use the tuner without the pop,

I was skeptical about buying this, but I knew Musician's Friend would back up the purchase.

I plugged a Collings D-2H into a Fishman Loudbox Artist without the BodyRez, then with it engaged. Wow. With the knob at about 12 o'clock, my tone got full and shimmery. I disengaged the BodyRez and tried to change the EQ settings on the amp to try and duplicate it, but no luck.

You need to hear it. Go get one if you are an acoustic player!
