OVERVIEW

An amazingly simple looper made by guitarists - for guitarists.

Ditto Looper is the looper you try once and love for life. TC Electronics have taken all that is good about loopers, trimmed away all the non-essential, mood-killing tech hoopla and ended up with a looper that is intuitive, tons of fun, sounds great and doesn't break the bank.

Its 'one knob' button may seem like a minimalist approach, but all the essentials are there: record, undo/redo, stop and erase are all accessed via different foot-commands that always make sense, whether you are building loops, changing from one part to the next (we're looking at you, live performers) or adding layers to a song. Tone quality should still always be priority number one so that's why the loops produced are in 24 bit uncompressed high quality audio.

Make looping as easy as 1-2-3. No hassle or needlessly complicated stuff, Ditto Looper is boiled down to the essentials and makes control intuitive yet flexible, so guitarists can focus on what matters most: playing and performing. You press once to record, press once again to play the loop. Press once to add another layer of sounds (something you can keep repeating until you run out of ideas). You press and hold to Undo a layer and press and hold again to Redo. Press twice to stop, after which you can press and hold to clear the loop.

The Ditto Looper has a ton of great features aside from its simple layout and controls. It provides 5 minutes of looping time which is more than you'll ever need and unlimited overdubs. It has an ultrasmall footprint and takes up almost zero space on your pedal board, saving you precious realestate. It's great for quickly getting rid of parts you aren't feeling, but it's been found that many people actually use this to change parts during live performance, say from verse to chorus Ditto works great in either scenario. The single knob allows you to set the level of your loops as a subtle background or a mindblowing performance.

In addition the Ditto Looper always let's your ˜dry sound' pass without ever converting it to digital, keeping your original tone just that original and purely as you intended it coming through with zero latency. And when it's bypassed, it's REALLY off. The Ditto Looper also stores your loops when you power down or disconnect the power plug. This means absolutely zero worries, as the music you've created stays stored and is ready to go when you need it whether you're just jamming on ideas, rehearsal, live performance or studio.

Note: Power supply sold separately.

The Ditto Looper is an amazing addition to the looper world. This is the looper for the guitarist who just needs a loop. No menus and arrays of complicated settings. You can read the "manual" and learn how to use it in moments and you are on to your first session with it. My first session was over 2 hours without looking up. This thing is so fun to use. I owned the Loop Station, which was great, but quite complicated and overboard for what I needed. This is PERFECT!

The Ditto is great as far as it's small size, length of loop, etc., but I prefer my two button looper. As a solo performer who is trying to be as discreet as possible with the loop, I found it very difficult to stay cleanly with the beat, having to stomp once, then again and hold to remove a loop. I guess it's just me but I'll stay with my oversized, multi function looper.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

For all those that complain about the 2 sec sound bit when they try to clear the looper. You need to double tap the button BUT hold the button down on the second tap. It will clear the loop without a sound. Wish people understood how to use the looper properly, although I must admit the directions left a lot to be desired. Hope this helps some of the disgruntled customers . Otherwise the looper is great, sounds good, easy to use . Basically all the good positive reviews. Most negative reviews were because people were not clearing the loops properly.

    Didn't work out for me

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

For me, it would subtley cut out during playback. That is to say, I would hear digital sounding (square wave), slight, momentary step reductions in the intensity during the output. I would hear 2 such steps every one or two seconds. May very well have been a defective unit. I returned it, but other than that I liked it. Hopefully someday I'll come across a unit that works, or another company will produce something better in the future.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

I had read other purchaser's reviews warning that it was hard to find a 9V AC adaptor that worked with this Ditto looper, so I called Musician's Friend to purchase the looper and asked about these comments. I was told that any AC adaptor would work and that there was only one purchaser that had problems. Well, now they can make that two purchasers. They sent me the Dunlop ECB-003 AC Adapter and it did not work with this looper. Luckily I tried a different adaptor I was using on an amp and it worked with the looper and the Dunlop worked on the amp. So I'm fine, but I was lucky. Trust the reviewers, not the salesmen.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

It worked great, was easy to se and sounded wonderful ... Then just died. TC Electronic had hideous support. Wanted me to produce sales receipt after six months had gone by to prove one year warranty was in effect - it had only been on the market for eight months! never did fix or replace it. I'd NOT recommend them. Google it and you'll find the Ditto has issues and their support leaves much to be desired. Digitech is cheaper and superior.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a great looper pedal. I tried the Boss but it was too complicated for me. This one is easy, just click it, play, click it again and it loops exactly what you recorded. You can keep adding on other loops as well.
It has a high quality sound and very little degradation of signal.
It's great for working out solos or looping chord progressions while you write lyrics too.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

Bought on the recommendation of other reviews and video demos.
          Works as advertised.
Very good sound quality with true bypass.
Don't know what I'll ever do with 5 minutes of recording time. Good for me.
Liked the simplicity. It loops and layers. That's it.
Being new to loopers, it took a while to get seamless loops like in the videos. First session was frustrating. Second session, all of a sudden, without my knowlege, I'd figured it out.
          Great practice tool.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

I was very excited when I bought this pedal! I do a lot of street performing (playing guitar) by myself. I usually can't plug in to a power source, so I have a battery power amp. I try to keep my rig as light as possible, but I had to have this looper, it was tiny anyways! so I went and tried it out, loved it, then bought it. later I went to put a 9 volt in it, then realized that it can't use batter! Only a wall adapter. A total deal breaker... I'm very disappointed, it would have been perfect, oh well...

Finally! A looper that doesn't require a degree in rocket science! I've used the Jam-Man & Boss loopers, but they don't compare with the ease of the Ditto! If you need a quality looper you can actually use LIVE this is it! 3 easy steps to learn (about 5 minutes) and you're up and running. And,,,there's no delay on the loop! Thanks Ditto!!!!

After you have finished using whatever loop you created in your song, when you want to delete it, you have to push/hold the button for a couple of seconds until it deletes your loop. For the 2 seconds you are holding it passes the audio of your last loop through!

The only way around this is to turn the volume down on the pedal while you delete it. Kind of surprised they let this thing out with that unfortunate oversight.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have wanted to play with a looping pedal for some time. This pedal gives you everything you need to start experimenting (and nothing that you don't need) in a simple, affordable package that is very easy to use. I highly recommend it - HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT COME WITH A POWER SUPPLY and IT DOES NOT RUN ON BATTERIES. This was not noted on MF's website, neither was there a recommendation for the required 9v power supply listed as a complimentary product. I purchased a 1-SPOT 9v charger at my local music store and it works fine, but I believe that any 9v, center-negative charger will do.

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

It does have a quick start guide. However, you must go on line for the operators manual. If your one of those people that just jumps into things, you will be in trouble. Simple to use once you understand the manual. Lay down the chords, dub a bass line, play back and do your thing. You can even dub the lead and add some riffs if you like. It has unlimited dubs and 5 minutes loop time.

The single knob allows you to adjust the volume of the loop. There is no battery. You will need a 9V power supply.

Had the Ditto Looper about a week and all I can say is brings your timing into focus, it's a great pedal and I am having a lot of Fun, Fun, Fun...

I'm very happy with this. Super fun looper that is a blast to play around with. It took around a half hour to really get the hang of working the single button design. It's a tad confusing out of the box, but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to lay down loops, stop them, erase, etc. For a guy who 99% of the time plays at home without anyone else, this is the perfect toy to jam around with. Highly recommended!

My first looper. Within the first week, I understood why experienced loopers prefer 2 pedal and more advanced looping/editing capabilities.
BUT, I aint' one of those, so the ease of this looper is the game changer.
Once you are comfortable with the concept, you will loop many cool groves, to jam along solo or with a band.
                      Wait, there is more.
-I use this to record my guitar part, and loop it back to tune my amp(s)...
-You can power down your rig, go have a bite, power up, and your loop is still there.
-The learning process will help you develop skill to play through the loop.
-The forgiving footswitch will get you used to punching in your parts, in tempo.
A BIG hint, learn to follow a metronome. Use it while you are building your loops, and all will be groovy...

The description on Musicians Friend should state that Ditto Looper does not come with a power supply. It runs on an in expensive 9v power supply, which one can buy for less than the price of a MacDonald's Happy Meal, so it's not about not getting one with the pedal. I just would have liked to have purchased it WITH the pedal. Instead, I have to purchase one and wait another week to use the dang thing! Sheesh!

Comments about TC Electronic Ditto Looper Guitar Effects Pedal:

There's a lag when the loop starts over that kills this things practicality and each additional layer sounds progressively lower in volume. And it does not come with a power source, and not just any 9v 100Ma one will do. I had to buy an expensive one from here because none of the 7 I had at home worked.

I loved this little unit at first, but I quickly discovered you get what you pay for. My unit stopped working after only 3 months of light use. Very disappointing!

The sound quality is excellent, but I found using this looper in live situations is very challenging. Yes, it is simple to use, but it only has one foot switch, which means no dedicated "Stop' button. To stop you have to press the foot switch twice in quick succession. If you're not fast enough between clicks, the unit reads it as two separate commands and instead of stopping it will go into Record or Play mode. If you really want to a buy a Ditto Looper, I would definitely recommend getting the newer version with the dedicated "Stop" switch.

This is a fun, easy pedal to play with, especially for the price. I've really enjoyed it so far, from just building loops by myself to jamming with my band. It took me a while to get the timing down but you'll figure it out pretty quickly

However, there is one catch: YOU MUST ALSO BUY a 9V DC power supply. I didn't know this when i bought this pedal (it says it in the description so it's my fault for not buying), but luckily I already had a 9V DC adapter at home. You can buy one here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/behringer-psu-sb-9v-dc-power-supply. The power supply is a pain, and the size of the pedal is somewhat deceiving. I would much rather in the future have them make a larger pedal with built in 9V battery.

Overall, I've extensively enjoyed this pedal and can confidently say it was worth the price.

Simply put, it was great until it wasn't great. Just quit working after four months and when I contacted TC, they demanded a sales receipt for proof that it was still covered under the year warranty - IT'S ONLY BEEN ON THE MARKET FOR 8 MONTHS!

I loved how easy this was to use, and it sounded great but this is my THIRD TC product to fail and their service is always difficult to deal with.

Save yourself some cash and potential headache - I think the Digitech comparable looper would be a more reliable choice - wish it was the one I made!

...or at home. You can play your self-indulgent guitar part over top of a rhythm figure you started. Once your loop is playing (a 2-measure vamp or an entire song verse and chorus!), you can change your tone--envelope and fuzz; whatever--and solo over top of it. If you can tap your foot right on a measure's first beat, you can work this one-button looper. Sing a verse while you create a loop of the rhythm part, start it up when it comes around, and you can either sing another verse and play the licks over your loop, or just shut up and play your guitar....Layer them up if you want; the loops sound almost identical to the timbre/tone of what you play through it.
When you play over on-the-fly loops on stage with a drummer, you absolutely *have* to start/stop your loops at the right moment. This little unit, unlike others I tried and didn't trust myself to start/stop exactly when I wanted, makes doing that easy.
Practicing is more fun with this unit, too. Anything you want to play sounds more satisfying if you do it over some little arpeggio or chord figure you loop for it.
Tiny, durable (has the same style and build-quality as my T.C. Vortex flanger), hardware bypass, mysterious USB port (download a 'TonePrint'?! Of a loop?! Hahahaha! I doubt it).
With a big arch-top and this thing you could sit in the corner of upscale restaurants (for example), play a couple of insipid 'jazz chords', and unobtrusively noodle harmonies/runs over them to the low-key delight of patrons...
What a great practice and performance tool! I wish I had this at every solo show I've ever done.
