I play through a Matchless DC30 primarily. No effects loop and no built in verb. So all my effect are in front of the amp input. I've been through three other verb petals. This one kills everything I've tried. Real estate on my petal board is at premium, so that's another reason I like the Hall of Fame. I've A/B-ed it against three pre CBS Fender blackface combos I own. The spring sound is right spot on. What more do you need ?
The stock sounds will get you through any rock/pop/jazz/country gig you can imagine. The tone print thing is cool, but I haven't used it or think that I might need it. Maybe someday. The tone pot is effective as is the decay adjustment.
I've had it a few week and used it only in my studio, but it seems very "gig worthy".
For this quality of sound and "editability", I've not heard or played a better reverb stompbox for the price. The Eventide "Space" sounds awesome but it's in another class (IMO). Also, the smaller footprint of the TC is a big bonus for me.

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

Great sounding pedal ... however after 15 months the power inlet must have cracked off the board. I treated this thing gingerly, cause I like the sound, but this is ridiculous. Warranty ends and it turns to mush. It's a joke. I'll never buy another TC pedal for as long as I live.

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

I went back and forth between a few different models of reverb. Generally I use reverb only a few ways: (1) A small touch of hall reverb just to wet the sound a small bit, (2) a room reverb sound for a little tight punch, and occasionally (3) a deep spring sound to do a little bit of surf guitar.

I decided I'd buy three at once and just keep the one I liked the best. I bought this one, a Holy Grail Plus, and a Verbzilla. Also tried the Boss/Fender in-shop which was okay, but overpriced and not versatile enough for me.

As far as sound, at least for my purposes, I thought the EHX won by a landslide. It's very smooth and natural sounding in the Hall and Room modes, and has an extremely credible Spring mode. The flerb effect I don't like and I don't see myself using that ever, but it's solid in the three modes I need. I was a little concerned about the bypass and the "it colors your sound" some people complained about, but I think it sounds great. Very simple operation and controls also - it's reverb, after all. [It's in the effects loop by the way, as the rest were when I tested.]

The Verbzilla is a tallish pedal that is just okay; it was on a closeout sale and very inexpensive compared to the other two, about half its normal price. It's somewhat artificial sounding. It does have a couple neat modes that would interest people but I'd consider it an intermediate-grade pedal. And I certainly wouldn't suggest buying it at it's regular price or even close.

Finally there's this HOF which I'd heard so much about. In short, it does a lot, but nothing particularly well. It feels light but built okay, though the switch feels a little flimsy, and the dial to choose settings could use a hard click or something so you can feel the change better. Those are minor things. It doesn't have the same heavy, solid feel that a Boss does.

The sound though is very hokey and not especially clean. Forget the stock spring sound, it's horribly fake. Maybe you'll like it, maybe you won't, but you certainly won't mistake this for a classic spring tank. The other sounds are so-so and all of the dialing in didn't help at all.

The TonePrint bank is a good idea I think, and there was a spring sound I downloaded that was an improvement. Nothing special though.

A couple years ago I had an X3 Live multi-effects unit for a few months. It didn't work out, but I thought the reverbs in that were at least as good as what I can get out of this pedal.

Anyway, this pedal - definitely versatile and doesn't cost that much. And it's far from the worst pedal I've ever used. It's just the Jack of all Trades. Not even the Jack, maybe just a 9 of all trades with a 5 for the spring sound. I could work with it if it's all I had but that's about all I can say for it.

Gear: I went into both a JetCity 20w combo & a Bugera V22 combo. Range of guitars including a Warmoth Strat w/ TS pickups, Schecter w/ EMGs, Ibanez 450m with Air Norton/Tone Zone, LP with '59s, and an Ash Tele Deluxe with some kind of Seymours I don't remember. Both amps tube w/ distortion I played with a bit, plus a Boss BD and Joyo Vintage OD. ISP Decimator in front and a few other pedals I didn't turn on when testing.

I would definitely hop in the car and try before you buy.

Just picked it up today so I'm still playing with it, but from what I've seen and heard so far this pedal is vastly superior to any other reverb pedal out there. It's built like a tank, and has every feature I was looking for.

    Great pedal, one big drawback

    By Desert Rat

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

In terms of noise and effects, this pedal is studio quality. I practice using a high quality headphone amp and cans and the noise floor is way down there and the effect quality way up there. This has been on battery only, I have not tried an external power supply yet. And that's my big beef with this pedal. It does not ship with an external power supply an this thing EATS batteries. Maybe I've got a defective unit but I'm only getting a couple of hours out of a fresh 9V duracell. No - I'm not leaving the patch cords plugged in (that's how the pedal gets switched on).

I wish TC would offer a computer program for creating your own Tone Prints or tweeking the prints that are available for download. That's something I would pay for. This pedal can do more than just reverb (as you can tell from listening to the MOD setting). I'm guessing the DSP engine may even be the same in each different pedal. Maybe they just want users to buy a separate pedal for each effect.

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

I had this pedal, sold it, then realized that nothing compares to the value & versatility, so I bought it again. This thing is built like a tank, has true bypass, and more features than you could ever want- which is good, because that makes for an extremely versatile pedal. Each setting is incredibly easy to dial in. Just when you thought it couldn't get better, you discover TonePrint- the icing on the cake. This neat little feature provides you with the ability to download stacked effects like FlangeVerb & Chorus+Reverb or anything, really. Free.

A reverb pedal isn't usually the crowning jewel of any guitar player's rig, but take it out or put a low quality pedal in and see how badly you miss the real deal. You owe it to yourself to add (and keep) this unsung hero in your lineup.

      BOTTOM LINE:
How many pedals can offer this much versatility and glorious tone for the price point? Well, currently about 6. But that's only because TC hasn't yet released more TonePrint-capable pedals.

      Great Addition to My Rig

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

Overall I'm quite happy with the HoF. It is a great addition to my rig.
The HoF 'verb has four knobs: FX Level, Decay, Tone, and Reverb Type. The Reverb Type control has 11 positions, with selections such as Room, Hall, Spring, Plate, etc. The reverb types are useful and varied. There is also a small toggle switch that allows you to select a long or short pre-delay The pedal is "true bypass" and has stereo (or mono) inputs and outputs. Allegedly, the HoF can function in an effects loop as well as between the instrument and the amp, but I haven't tried this yet.

The pedal also has a USB connection that allows you to download "Tone Print" patches from the tc electronic website. And, of course, there is the main switch button you use to activate/de-activate the pedal.

The pedeal does not ship w/ a power supply wall wart.
So far, so good. The HoF appears to be noise free. The case, the knobs, and the on/off button all seem stout. The jacks are solid. The back of the unit has a large, recessed, quick release screw, so you can get to the battery quickly if you need to.

As I mentioned in the "Features" section, the HoF does not ship w/ a power supply.

According to the sticker on the back, the pedal was designed in Denmark and manufactured in Thailand.
I'm very satisfied with the sound, the quality of the build and the feature set. The price wasn't over-the-top, so I guess that's a solid value.

Comments about TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Reverb TonePrint Series Guitar Effects Pedal:

I had high hopes for this reverb given the great reviews, but I was disappointed. Maybe mine was defective, IDK.

To me this pedal didn't provide reverb, it was just providing short, fluttery delays. None of the settings sounded like a room, spring, church, etc with a sense of being in a "reverberant space". The space in the pedal is created by audible flutter echoes. I know that reverb is just echoes. But those echoes all arrive at the listener at different times creating the sense of space. The HoF delays all seem to be arriving/pulsing at the exact same time so you didn't get "space" you got "flutter echoes". You could create the same effect with a couple delay pedals set to small delays.
