OVERVIEW

Overdrive heaven is just a stomp away.

The TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal is the overdrive pedal that will breathe life, magic and that certain something into your sound, making your playing stand out.

Guitarists everywhere are always looking for that little extra push over the cliff, a touch of magic to their sound that gives just that extra bit of bite, body and tone. MojoMojo Overdrive will give you that flash of perfection every time you engage it, providing a crisp and clear overdrive with a rock-solid bottom end.

A sweet blues lead, an extra chunky rhythm tone or a soaring solo, it's all there - and then some. MojoMojo Overdrive is equipped with separate bass and treble controls and a bass-response voice toggle that prevents your bass frequencies from ever disappearing when you step on the pedal.

For maximum mojo, MojoMojo Overdrive features true bypass, an easy-access battery hatch, a small footprint and the highest-grade components.

One of the reasons why this is such a dynamic pedal is the fact that TC Electronic use a special circuit that ramps up the voltage to more than 3-4 times the amount of your typical drive pedals. However, this added gain isn't used to squeeze more overdrive/distortion out of the pedal, but to dramatically increase the headroom and dynamics.

The result? One of the most alive overdrives you have ever heard, a pedal that defines all that is magic about overdriven sounds and a pedal that responds to your playing in dynamic and ultra-musical ways. It cleans up when you want it to and when you really dig in, MojoMojo Overdrive is right there with you.

FEATURES
  • True Bypass - zero loss of tone
  • Drive, Level, Bass and Treble controls - total control of your overdrive sounds
  • Voicing switch - for an awesome mid-shift
  • Easy battery access - makes changing batteries fun! (well, almost)
  • Small footprint - save precious pedal board space
  • High-quality components - only the best will do when it comes to tone
  • Road-ready design - ready to follow you wherever your playing takes you
  • DC adapter sold separately

I have read some reviews of this pedal describing it as wooly, too much bottom end and not a pleasing sound.Out of the box everything at 12 plugged into a clean amp it is a little flubby, but a few minutes of eqing the very active eq controls onthe pedal and your amp will get great overdriven sounds.it may be an aquired taste for some, but i quickly grew to love this pedal-it's not a distortion pedal,it's an OD and it does behave like an od on an amp-that's where the real charm comes in-this pedal sound good in a clean channel, especially with the gain at about 1130 and the master/single volume control on 6-7.If you can getaway with pushing your power tubes that much where you play that's the sweet spot for this thing.
But pushing an already overdriven amp is where this pedal excells-midway dirty on your amp,and midway dirty on the Mojo, and you easily get close to 1978 van halen tone.nice harmonics and a fat thick od.I play pretty average amps-5 watt blackstar and 15 watt tweaker,so i'm not pushing a boutique amp that will make everything sound good. This pedal might not be for everyone, but i found a little fine tuning got me a great sound.

I read all the hype about this pedal so I bought it. I used it to rehearse and for gigs for about six months but soon got frustrated with how bassy it is. I just could not dial in a decent tone so I sold it. Still looking for an overdrive drive that will not color my tone.

The Mojo's Mean, Meaty, Smooth and Sweet

By Jason Smith

from Unfortunately, Miami, FL

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

Overall I'm happy. I can't find a bad thing about this pedal. I currently have three dirtboxes on my board. If I had lost this one I would buy it again. Heck, I even thought about buying a 2nd to use strictly as clean boost or even a dirty boost. I really can't say enough good things about this awesome little pedal.
I love that there's a 2-band filter section and voicing switch. While I wish the voicing switch effect was a little more prominent , I think that subtlety is what this pedal is all about.

I really love the range of gain on here. From a perfect clean boost with all tone entact to a full bore dirty overdrive... treading the territory of distortion. Almost fuzz, but not as aggressive on the high end attack. It's very smooth. The Level knob gives pleanty of boost too.On the cleanest setting there's no reason to go passed 3 o'clock. I love the knobs too. They're the right size for getting a toe in there for turning.
I'm giving it a 10 because it's a solid pedal with solid, smooth turing pots and a tough true bypass switch packed into a metal enclosure. I've had it for about two months now and I haven't had a reason to give it a bad mark.
It's a great deal. It's a smooth sounding overdrive with range and clarity. I think most will have a tough time finding a pedal with quality of sound for the price.

Well on it's own its ok... but at the end of your signal chain it's a total champ... it's active tone controls tailors any pedal before it to perfection... my fuzz that lacks bass totally fixes... my ibanez overdrive ii (which I already loved since the 70's is even better and added additional flavors to my octavia.... at the current sweet price you have to pull the trigger!

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

The MojoMojo is a really terrific sounding overdrive pedal by TC Electronic !

And boy, this little box has a BUNCH of Mojo !

It's quite a transparent overdrive and has a ton of clarity with it's bright top end and very solid bottom end.

It's got quite a versatile range. Keep the gain at low and zero and use the pedal as a clean boost or a treble boost. Turn up the gain and you can get all types of softer genres such as country, praise and worship music, soft rock, all the way to classic 70's rock! Great as a standalone overdrive, but you can also use it to push your tube amp that is at the verge of breakup for that creamy valve sound !

You've also got a "voice" switch that gives you a brighter sound with more prescence in the up position. Turn the switch downwards for a warmer, more "vintage" sound. I like the up position because I feel that it puts your guitar sound in a sonic space where you can have a more defined spot in a live or studio mix.

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I am picky about ODs and I love the new TC toneprint series which this pedal belongs, although it is not a toneprint platform and also does not have the buffer switch option. Tried as I may I just did not like the tone w my rig, if buried in high gain it does well but I just did not like the gain voice on this drive no matter where I adjusted it. Did not sound good on my rig. It does completely clean up like a clean boost but I could not see using just for a clean boost so I reluctantly returned it. Love the toneprint, chorus, and delay, I suspect the rest of them are as great. This OD just did not cut it for me.

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I use this as my main overdrive pedal now. Before the MojoMojo, I used a boutique overdrive worth 6x as much as this, which was nice, but didn't stack up against the MojoMojo. This pedal has a ridiculous range of bass and treble to go from both extremes and everything in the middle. It's got a really unique sweet spot when it comes to the headroom because it's got plenty but not so much that it's too touchy. The gain knob is unique because, unlike a lot of drives I've used which only sound good at either really low gain settings or really high gain and not both, the MojoMojo can handle both high and low gain settings as well, if not better, than pedals that are dedicated to each respective use. I have no idea why these are so affordable but it's definitely worth the meager cash it costs.

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal sounds great. Adds nice break up that never sounds fizzy. There's no "white noise" harshness from this pedal. It produces a very good, overdriven tube amp sound. The amount of OD ranges from clean boost to full overdrive. This is not a distortion pedal, the most break up you will get is like an older tube amp when it's cranked. However, I think this would make an excellent pedal to put in front of an already overdriven tube amp. The bass control makes this pedal ideal for that task. MF has a great price on this pedal. Buy it - you can't go wrong if you are looking for a good transparent overdrive / boost pedal. TC Electronic doesn't make junk - this is a quality pedal!

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

I would agree with most of the comments. This is a quality overdrive pedal, especially at this price point. You get TC Electronics quality and it is a relatively quiet pedal. However, I really see its main use as complimenting other boost, overdrive, or distortion pedals. If you want to use it as your only source of boost or overdrive, you will probably be disappointed. But for the price, it plays nice with a number of other pedals that I have tried it with so far.

I use the MojoMojo to add extra gain and volume to the Tc electronics Dark Matter pedal. You never loose any low end and for me that's the special sauce in this pedal. The tone controls are very responsive and tons of volume on tap. A must have if your looking for a versatile and very affordable overdrive pedal!

Comments about TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive Guitar Effects Pedal:

The mojo mojo overdrive is a good pedal to fatten up your sound if you have that ice picky kind of amp lead sound. Being an overdrive it is a little light on overdriving your sound but does have some use as a rounding your tone and giving you a little boost. It's a good pedal for the price but I like my other overdrive pedals better. Of course though they cost triple the money of the Mojo Mojo. For the price I am happy with it and also I have seven amplifiers so it works better with some more than others.
