Comments about TC Electronic NM-1 Nova Modulator Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:
This Modulator requires an investment of time to thoroughly explore its intricate settings.I was hoping to eliminate several effects pedals with this all-in-one-Modulator but I'm not convinced this totally fulfilled my expectations. The Phaser and Tremolo sound very good. The Flanger and Vibrato are average.Chorus and Tri Chorus are below average. At first I wasn't pleased with the tight, digital Chorus but I was able to dial-in my own customized tone that was fair sounding.Stepping through the units presets by foot is terribly awkward and should be re-designed.This pedal has the potential to be very good but I haven't decided if it's a keeper.
Comments about TC Electronic NM-1 Nova Modulator Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:
Wow, I gotta say, this pedal is confusing as hell. But once you give it some time and get yourself used to it, you can make any sound shape you want! Every possible parameter is tweakable, and you've got options for stereo effects, two at once, and, my favorite, a tap tempo! This thing is well worth the money. It even LOOKS good!I needed some good modulation effects for my rig. Initially I bought the Line 6 MM4 Modulation Modeler. That was out of stock when I saw THIS gem... What really got me excited was the tap tempo, which was absent on the MM4. When it came in the mail, I was shocked by how small it was, yet so powerful! I immediately found some sweet sounds. One cool effect was the TZ (through zero) flanger, which kinda sweeps itself into silence in steady intervals. The tri-chorus is also very lush and vivid, and the dual-effect option allows you to double it (hect-chorus?)! Overall, a little pricey, but an excellent deal if you're into high-end, great-sounding gear!
Comments about TC Electronic NM-1 Nova Modulator Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal:
Great quality of sound. Excellent construction. it's also alot smaller then it looks. Hasn't given me any glitches. Unfortunately I had to sell it because of a fatal flaw. Volume loss. The Tri chorus had an effect level which was nice, but the standard chorus and the flanger caused a subtle loss. You can combine 2 effects at once, so I tried copying an effect on top of itself to double the effect, but still no gain increase. The option of having 2 fx going at the same time seems kinda like a gimic, since you can't make out what your playing that much. Gets really muddy. It's built like a tank, easy to learn, and it's about a 3rd the size of the line 6 ddl delay. It's even smaller then the Boss dd-20. If I could've gotten it modded so as to fix the volume drop, I would've paid $100 gladly. It worked well in my fx loop or in front of my amp. Hopefully they'll upgrade it one day.
