although this pedal sounds nice it isn't a distortion at all. it's more like an overdrive, a little muddy maybe, but nice. my tube screamer is way edgier, not to mention ds-1.and one more thing to consider is that the pedal is feather light. heaviness is *a sign of quality* sometimes. except that it looks cool.the worst part of this pedal is the price tag. you could easily get a better amp if you save 200 bucks. ie. upgrade your blues jr amp to a hotrod deluxe. you'd be much happier.
Your looking for a distortion pedal?? This is it!!A must have for every "crazy guitarist" out there..Features : I use this amazing pedal with my Line 6 POD ver 2.0 and guees what,it can act like an EQ + boost when I use the higain mode on the pod, while the gain level on the pedal is set almost all the way down (approx 3 or 2 bars),the output and colour filter at 3 and the BOOST is ON. SHRED BABY!!( aahh.. so it sound's like there's an additional features, right my friend ?? )THERE'S A LOT MORE !!Quality : Those 3 knob ( gain level, colour filter, and output level) are EXTREMELY usefull for the character and the colour of the distortion. You can go smooth, mild or wild and screaming like there's no tommorow..Brown tone, women tone, you name it this thing will do it. Experiment !!Last word : AMAZING..
Ok, so I go to my local guitar shop and ask if they have a tube screamer and add that I've hear they're the best. The guy gives me a look and hands me a tube screamer and the TCE Distortion to take in the amp room and give them a go. So I go to the amp room, and as I play an HRD, I look for one and find two, a tweed and a black one. I plug the tube screamer into one and the TCE into the other, grab two strats off the wall and ask one of the guitar techs to come into the room. We proceed to have a little jam session. Well, after about five minutes, the guitar tech, who owns a tube screamer, asks me if I'm going to buy the TCE, because he wants it. Long story short, I bought it, and it f'ing rocks. From slight Stonesy stuff, to balls to the wall distortion, this thing delivers. I've since bought several other TCE Stomboxes and I love them all. They know how to do it. Buy one, you'll love it!
